Hotel reviews are always interesting to read. Some customers expect Marriott quality service at a knock off price. By local (Jersey City and Manhattan) standards, Ramada by Wyndham is very good value. The room was big, spacious, clean and quiet, it is only 5 mins walk from the PATH and whilst the breakfast was basic, it is a cheap hotel so I didn't expect anything better. If you wanna stay close to Manhattan but can't afford to stay in Manhattan, this is ideal.

They really need to update their booking.com page because they're being purposely ambiguous about the airport shuttle. The shuttle ends at 7:30pm. This information isn't included on the page. They sent me a couple of terse messages explaining they're "a hotel, not a shuttle" (and yet FREE SHUTTLE is splashed across the page) and they get lots of messages from people inquiring "before booking." Of course, they could save themselves the time of replying by just stating clearing...FREE AIPORT SHUTTLE unitl 7:30PM.

I have been to this hotel for the fifth time. I am always satisfied, the rooms are spacious and clean, the staff is nice and smiling and helpful. The breakfast could be a bit better, it's not really for those who eat healthy, but it's manageable for few days. The surroundings of the hotel are a bit strange, but I was never scared. What I appreciate very much is the free shuttle from the airport. The train ride with PATH to WTC takes about 10 minutes, to the 33rd Street /Penn Station/ about 25 minutes.

Location near Journal Square PATH station for easy access to Manhattan, the WTC station about 20 minute train ride. Walking distance around 7-10 mins from Journal Square depends on how fast you walk. We got the double room with two double beds which good to have own room with door for some privacy when with group. Stayed here for 8 nights in early Oct23. Room is a bit outdated but clean and comfortable. Lots of storage for clothes. Have microwave and refrigerator. They serve basic breakfast like cereals, apples, bananas, oats, coffee, tea, toast, eggs and yogurt. Near shops, halal restaurant. Wifi worked well.

No parking provided. Hotel entrance is by the road with 2 spots for loading/unloading zone. They didn’t allow late check out due to big group coming in. Offer free shuttle to Newark airport but with limited schedule. Only provide 3 towels although booking for 4 pax.

The spaciousness of this older building. Nice fridge and microwave. Comfortable chairs and desk in the room. Good lighting. Very convenient to PATH tube and Manhattan — but at ½ of Manhattan prices. Pleasant breakfast included.

Nothing glamorous or exciting about the neighborhood. Nevertheless a good value.

The room was spacious with a huge bathroom and a walk-in closet. I’m not sure why this hotel is a 2 star hotel because it is far better than 2 stars. The breakfast was very good with sausages, patties, waffles, french toast, egg, cereals, juices, toast, bagels, pastries etc. The staff were very friendly and professional. The train station was near. There is the huge Newton Center mall a seven minute drive away. There are small stores near the hotel but I didn’t get to visit them because it was too cold to go walking about. There are renovations taking place but it does not take away from the hotel and the price was right. You can get to New York quickly. I will stay there again.

The takeout food stores close pretty early. My room was near the hotels water heater and it made a significant amount of noise. We were able to go to sleep despite the noise which was continuous through out the day and night.

The neighborhood felt safe, and within a five minutes walk from the Journal Square subway station. The room was quite clean for what could be expected in large urban environments. The staff members were friendly and effective, which was awesome. The breakfast was simple, yummy, and free--also awesome and appreciated. If we visit NYC again and wish to stay in Jersey City (which is likely since it worked out well for us this time) this hotel would be first on my list to check for availability assuming the price remains as reasonable as it was for the market it is in.

Saw two, centimeter-or-less in size, roaches in the bathroom in the middle of the night, but flushed them--that was really the only cleanliness issue. Also the bathroom was a little cramped, but it worked and had no issues with functioning. The safe in the closet didn't close unless you paid for it, and unfortunately was about at head height for my wife, who bonked her head on it a few times. Not sure if that could be reconfigured, but would probably be nice.

Quiet two-room suite with the possibility of opening windows for fresh air. Great location to the Jersey City's "Little India" with its Indian eateries. Good, friendly helpful staff. Direct shuttle to Newark airport.

It is always difficult to compare breakfast in European hotels and American hotels. The European breakfast is so varied, the coffee so good, and the fruit, vegetable, cereal, bread, and cold-cut options so plentiful that the American hotel breakfast is not on the same scale at all. I doubt this will change in the near future. A good coffee machine that makes real espresso coffee would be a good start for American hotels.

Queen room was actually a 'suite' with two rooms/beds - so plenty of room. Fridge/microwave/coffee maker. Rooms are a bit outdated, particularly the bathroom (which was small) but everything has been very well maintained and kept meticulously clean so overall quite comfortable. Short walk to Journal Square PATH station for easy access to Manhattan.

Some noise from room above. Area will not appeal to everyone, it is quite a distance from the touristy areas of Jersey City. Despite this, still felt safe coming home late at night.

The hotel is a bit older, but very clean, and that is important. The breakfast was absolutely sufficient for me. The staff were friendly and helpful. The neighborhood is a little scary, but I was never scared. This was my fourth time at this hotel and certainly not my last. 5 minutes to PATH station and 10 minutes with the train to the World Trade Center or 20 minutes to the 33rd street. Probably the best value for money you will find in the NY area. The hotel is close to NY (path station 500m from the hotel). It takes 25 min to reach mid town (33rd street) for 2.90$ (watch out because path is not the same network as the other lines). The hotel offers a free shuttle from and to Newark (will save you 200$). The hotel has a laundry room, very practical cause you don't have to pack much. And the staff (Viktoria, Aymann) is super nice and solution oriented.

The breakfast might be too "American" for Europeans stomachs. A continental style one would be better but for the price, nothing to complaint about really.
