I recently stayed at Castenor for a couple of days, and overall, it was a good experience but not exceptional. The swimming pool area was definitely a highlight—clean, relaxing, and well-maintained. The staff at the restaurant were friendly and attentive, making dining a pleasant experience. However, I believe two days is sufficient for a stay, as the resort doesn't offer much beyond the pool and dining. While I enjoyed my time, I feel there's room for improvement in terms of amenities and activities.

However, I found the room to be underwhelming and not as comfortable as expected looking towards the parking spaces …must have been a minus.Additionally, the lack of activities provided by the hotel left me feeling like two days was more than enough. While I enjoyed certain aspects of my stay, there’s definitely room for improvement, especially in terms of accommodations and entertainment options.”

Wonderful relaxing ambiance with amazing views, great for a few days getaway to recharge. The grounds were exceptionally kept and clean, the rooms were spacious and modern, the staff was very helpful and attentive, and they had a good selection of food and drinks. Overall, it was a great experience, I would definitely go back and highly recommend it to those looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway.

Currently, the spa and pools are open 9am to 9pm. While not a deal breaker, the only suggestion I would make is to change the spa and pool hours of operation, at least for the indoor spa, start with an hour earlier and end with an hour later.

Nice spa area. The bed is big and very comfortable. Great surroundings with amazing view.

The restaurant is expensive and the food quality is not there; I had some horrible carbonara done with some ordinary cheap ham (not guanciale) and with some other cheese, but not parmigiana or pecorino. My wife had a dish with french fries made from the cheapest frozen ones. I must admit that the next day I had a delicious burger, very well prepared. Some people of the stuff were really nice, but at one dinner our waiter was not paying attention to us, having to wait like 15 minutes until he notices that I want something from him - and continued like this all the evening even thought he was not busy. I expected much better quality, both of food and serving, for that level of price.

Nice rooms, clean and spacious. The staff is very helpful and nice, both at the reception and the restaurant. The shuttle to Arena Platos is very useful and free of charge. The pool and the spa area is ok, with a great view. Nice breakfast

The food at the restaurant is below average and extremely expensive for what they offer. Unfortunately there aren’t a lot of options around. The spa area is nice, but the pool is not very big and on the first night, when there were more people on the hotel, we couldn’t find a seat at the pool for all three of us.

The hotel is the cleanest I've seen so far in Romania. The atmosphere is really nice, they make efforts to ensure that the guests are comfortable. The views are spectacular! The Spa area was also great, we were pleased to see that it was a place where we could actually relax without noise, loud groups, or lots of kids running around.

Some of the features were not working in the spa area. It seems like getting them fixed as soon as they break is impossible on top of a mountain and it makes sense. But it is a bit sad to come for a day or two and not be able to enjoy the full experience.

Amazing stay at fabulous location with a wonderful architecture. The atmosphere was absolutely great for this period of the year. We enjoyed the abundant breakfast, comfortable rooms, luxurious SPA, relaxing massages, refreshing walks in the nature sprinkled with tasty mulled wine :). Services are high quality and personnel is very helpful. Views from this location are breath taking.

When we were there, there was also a very big group that was very loud and played music during the night (after 10pm) - the sound isolation was very poor so we heard everything. The food in the restaurant is too pricy.

Situated amidst the serene mountainous landscape, the spa offered a range of luxurious facilities that left me feeling rejuvenated and refreshed, like indoor and outdoor pool, indoor and outdoor jacuzzi, wet and dry sauna and more other. The spa's tranquil ambiance truly added to the overall experience, allowing me to unwind and escape from the stresses of everyday life. The dining options at the hotel were equally impressive. The restaurant served a variety of delectable dishes, prepared with the highest quality ingredients. The menu showcased both local and international cuisine, providing a culinary experience that satisfied even the most discerning palate. Additionally, the attentive and friendly staff made dining an absolute pleasure, ensuring my needs were met and providing excellent recommendations. The hotel's location on Paltinis Mountain was truly idyllic. Overall, my stay at this 4-star hotel on Paltinis Mountain with its incredible spa was a truly unforgettable experience. The combination of impeccable service, luxurious amenities, and stunning natural surroundings created a haven of relaxation and indulgence. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a perfect blend of mountain adventure and pampering retreat.

Everything was above my expectations!

Castelnor is nicely located at the entrance of the Paltinis resort, a nice place to disconnect and relax and close to some ski slopes (few min by car to 'Arena Platos' ski area). The place is quite a nice blend of classic and modern, with a nice Spa area and pool downstairs, offering nice quality massage options as well. The rooms look nice and very clean, bathroom has walk-in shower and quite modern. Breakfast is very good with lots of variety of quality food. There is parking included for guests.

There is only one small elevator strangely located at the end of the hallway and it does not go all the way to the floor with the Spa area, so you need to walk around and take the stairs which can turn a bit uncomfortable if you ever forget anything in the room and have to go back and forth. Rooms are nice overall, only downside in terms of size they are a bit on the small end for 4* , same as the balconies (some balconies are bigger but depends on the luck what balcony size you get).

Location is great. Feels like a castle in the clouds. The facilities were very good as well. Room was spatious enough and very clean. SPA is nice. It was a bit crowded but it was to be expected. It was a weekend. It would have been worrying if it wasn’t I guess. The restaurant is very good. Pricing is a bit steep but I gues it comes with the view. All in all it was a great experience. Will definitely return.

I didn’t like the children screaming at breakfast. I’m pretty sure that’s not something that management can (or should) fix though …
