The ensuite room ( number 9 ) was very cozy, with a really comfortable bed and came with an enormous bath.. there was an old school radio ( but only appearance wise) and the " smooth chill " radio station put the cherry on the cake.. it was really a relaxing stay. The staff were very kind, polite and helpful. Most importantly there is something that is really worth it to highlight... the food quality...it is extraordinary.. during our 4 night stay we have had the opportunity to try several meals from the menu and never disappoint us it was always very delicious.. price wise it is mid range but the quality and the taste of food was worth every penny..

Nothing what is worth it to mention

Overall very professional and friendly staff (except for situation mentioned above). Cosy and tastefuly furnished room. Nice touch the complementary prosecco and beer. Food is just outstanding, the sunday roast 10/10, totally worth to dine at the restaurant. Free parking very practical.

Room tends to be very warm and as in our case it was on a busy street, it can be a bit loud (the fen provided helps to cool down the temperature and avoid opening the window). However, the only annoying thing has been the breakfast situation on the first morning (sunday). Breakfast is served from 8 to 10, we were there at 9:30 and there was almost no food left. We asked for some extra pastries and granola but they told us that they didn't have anything left over. No one took our drinks order, we had to search for the waitress to ask for a coffee which arrived once we were already done with the food. Staff available on the day seemed very inexperienced. Breakfast on the second day was however really good and the staff took really good care so it compensated the previous experience.

Great rooms, with a lovely big bed and tea/ coffee facilities plus a fridge..with a complimentary little bottle of prosecco! Nice touch! Gardens were really lovely with lots of places to sit. Good evening menu with decent priced wines. Close to Burghley Horse Trials,only took 20 mins to drive there! Plenty of free parking.

Breakfast was painfully slow. Took almost an hour and we were there as soon as it opened. The waitress seemed to have little clue of what she was doing. When it arrived, it was wrong. Run out of most things including croissants. Very poor, this aspect let the whole hotel down.

A traditional country pub hotel with excellent breakfasts with a £4.50 supplement on the full English, good selection of food and continental . Staff we're very helpful and managed to move us from Room 7 to Room 9 which was very bright and overlooked the Courtyard. . 😃 . The location was excellent, Corsham being full of independent shops and eateries. . parking was ample and free.

Large king size bed in Room 9 had a ridge in it but apart from that nothing terrible to report. .

Friendly welcome when we arrived. Relaxing music in the room and complimentary Prosecco a nice addition. I really liked how the decor incorporated period furniture and interesting art work. Cosy atmosphere with separate dining and lounge areas. Ate in the restaurant and meal and service good.

No biscuits on the refreshments tray in the room as we’ve had previously when staying with this chain of inns. Would like to have had decaf coffee sachets in room. Couldn’t find the hairdryer as it was in an unmarked bag hanging on a hanger in the wardrobe. Locating this nearer the dressing table would be good. Disappointed with breakfast, I had scrambled eggs with smoked trout which was heavily garnished with fish eggs. I feel it would be helpful if this addition is included on the menu description.

The room (11) was lovely but but could do with a tad of TLC (wallpaper and shower door). The staff were brilliant, both helpful, and really friendly. The Beer was great, and the evening meals were excellent (the fried gnocchi and mushroom and seaweed were fabulous) The desserts ( as a pudding person) were excellent. Breakfast was great and comprehensive. The location is great for visiting the area, although it can get a little noisy re external traffic. All told lovely location, lovely hotel, quality food and brilliant staff.

As above the room probably could do with a degree of TLC. There is a degree of external traffic noise.

Comfy room, free parking is always welcome also..biscuits on the tea tray were lovely.

Breakfast was tasty, but not very generous in terms of size, and they wished to add a surcharge for 'fuller' English Breakfast. Charging over £19 for a fry up is a bit ridiculous. Room didn't have a radio, even though their website boasts having a Roberts DAB in each room. Extractor fan in shower room did not work, which caused a fairly big steam issue. Overall it felt a little bit lacking of that 4th star.

The property itself was lovely and characterful, along with the room being very clean and comfortable. There were little touches like the welcome book and complimentary drinks that made us feel like it was a special night away. Staff were really good, attentive but not over the top. Food was great, particularly the starters and puddings.

Nothing we didn't like, only a small suggestion to maybe make more of the snug/green room. More games or music could have encouraged us to have more drinks downstairs. Initially I was overcharged for the room, but I spotted this before checking out and it was very quickly amended.

Good location to explore area Corsham is beautiful. Comfortable bed Lovely food Staff were friendly and accommodating Room was a comfortable temperature

Constructive criticism... Difficult to get through to the main phone line. Items missing in the room, had to constantly ask for items to be provided ie, bath towels, teaspoons,glasses, cafétiere.( House keeping issue not replinished/replaced.) TV dated/screen/ image was poor quality in comparison to other places I have stayed in. No netflix, just standard Freeview. The room originally offered did not look the same as the image and one I had booked Via Booking. Com. I was also next to a noisy outside air conditioning unit. Broken light for cupboard didn't work Couldn't have a side lamp on without bright lights above my head. That was annoying as they are all connected to one main switch.

Slight mixup on booking we were allocated a dog friendly room, however after a discussion with staff before our visit we agreed to have one night in the dog friendly room but we were moved into a new room for our second and third night which was lovely and dog free.

Slight observation a dog was present in the breakfast room, the owners a young couple even encouraged the dog to get up on to the seating next to the table. I didn’t feel comfortable informing the staff of this but maybe the dog free zones can be reinforced to the staff.
