In the deep, cold nights of the Hong Kong winter, the green neon of the Bishop Lei cuts through the dark haze like a beacon of hope, calling the weary traveler back from a day spent exploring the chaos of the metropolis. The Bishop Lei isn't a 5 Star hotel and it doesn't pretend to be. Instead, it is a rock-solid option delivering exactly what a road-worn nomad needs after a day of exploration: a scalding hot shower to burn away the city’s grime, a bed solid enough to crash on, and a skyline view that reminds you why you keep coming back. Throw in an unapologetic 80s wooden décor, a staff that actually gives a damn, and prices that don’t feel like daylight robbery, and you’ve got yourself a hideout worth considering. Perched above the streets like a quiet sentinel, the Bishop Lei watches over the sleepless sprawl below. The city hums, waiting. But for now, you rest.

The room was lovely and cosy and exceptionally clean. Small, but fine for one person, and very comfy bed. The food at the restaurant was really good, tasty and wholesome. Very convenient to be able to order food at the hotel, which was also affordable. I loved the Christian ethos and atmosphere at the hotel too, the terrace garden was a beautifully tranquil space. Quiet location, easy to get to and from town via buses and also the central to mid-level escalators (though be warned they stop running at midnight..!!) Very close to the botanical gardens which are well worth a visit, and also to the peak tram (don’t get the bus to or from the peak as it feels like a rollercoaster…!) Overall I was really pleasantly surprised by how nice this hotel was, and great value for money. I would definitely stay here again!

The AC in the restaurant was quite fierce, it was too cold for me to sit in the restaurant to eat which was a shame. I had to take the food back to my room, which wasn’t a huge problem, but would have been nicer to be able to get out of my room for meals (and meant my small room did smell of food).

Staff were very nice and helpful throughout the whole stay. Great location and very close to Central and Hong Kong Stations, as well as being within walking distance to Peak Victoria. Very good room service. Swimming pool with great views of the city.

The room was a bit small since we had to move the bed so that our suitcase could fit on the floor. Although the sheets were changed, the glasses used the previous night were never washed or changed by the hotel stuff. The gym consists only of treadmills and cardio machines, more equipment such as dumbbells, benches, and other gym essentials are needed. The swimming pool was good but it would've been great if it was open 24h. The food in the hotel (additional cost) was good but a bit overpriced for it's quantity. No complimentary tooth brush, toothpaste

The room is well-designed and good-sized by Hong Kong standards, which is very small is general. The location is excellent, right by the Midlevels escalators but towards the end of it so you won't hear the noisy bars and rowdy crowds, but you are near the many excellent restaurants and convenience of the Midlevels neighbourhood. You will need strong knees and ankles to handle the slopes because the escalators only go up, and you have to walk down.... Bishop Lei does provide regular shuttle busses to Central though.

The bathroom sink was stuck and the faucets were old-fashioned separate hot and cold water faucets i.e. no mixer. Hot water and water pressure were good but the shower cabin was leaking a little. The room provided only small glasses and tiny teacups - does anyone have their morning coffee in teacups?

Twin room could have been a bit bigger.ok for a single person.need the windows to open so as the room feels less stuffy at night

Awesome experience overall. Super helpful staff who helped me with all sorts of questions, even lent me cash for taxi when I had none, and lent me converters for plug in too. Nice restaurant. Very quite and nice neighborhood.

Location. Even they have shuttle bus it only runs hourly and till 7pm. So you really need to take taxi (which only accepts cash…) often. It’s too far and too hilly to walk to subway

Great location, breakfast was ok. Get the suite which is a bit more but has stunning views over the city and harbour

The staff especially the front desk were very helpful. We were even allowed to check-in early. It is also easy to communicate with them through email and even thru the booking.com platform. We are happy with the service we receive from the staff. The location is quite far from MTR but there is a bus stop in front of the hotel with buses stopping at Admiralty station. There is also a free shuttle running between the Hotel and HongKong / Airport Express Station with approx. 1 hour interval. We weren't able to walk around the neighbourhood because of the limited time we had though. Our room is quite small and cramped but I think it's typical of Hong Kong accommodations. It's just hard to move around if you are bringing a lot of stuffs. Overall, we had a nice stay the hotel.

We had a hard time finding the shuttle pick-up location from Hong Kong MTR station. We got confused with the L2 Arrival Hall since we are not familiar with the Hong Kong / Central MTR terminal / stations. We came from the city (not from the airport) and we alighted at the Hong Kong terminal (orange line). We went around in circles looking for the L2 arrival with a lot of baggages in hand. We took exit L at the Central station (red line) and we lost our way. The instruction on the free shuttle was just L2 arrival which is easily accessible coming from the Airport Express line. We later found out that from Hong Kong station, take the exit towards IFC mall (Exit F) and go up one floor towards Airport Express terminal. The arrival hall is just below the IFC mall.

This was our second time staying at Bishop Lei, and it was another pleasant experience. We arrived early, and though our room wasn’t ready yet, the staff kindly offered to store our luggage. They provided the same service during checkout, which was very convenient. We were delighted to hear that we received a room upgrade this time. The room was spacious, especially for Hong Kong standards, and offered a nice view of the Central CBD Area. The location is amazing — right near the Mid-Levels area, close to the escalator, with easy access to Central. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby, which made exploring the area super convenient. Overall, Bishop Lei is a solid choice for its value, location, and service. We’d happily stay here again on future visits to Hong Kong.

Location was good once we knew our way ar the area. Fantastic views and friendly hardworking cleaning staff. Wi-Fi was good with access to everything apart from GPT. Good selection of TV channels. The hotel is religious but not in your face. Nice old shool hotel. No problem with changing to vegetarian option breakfast. Helpful service.

While it's hotel policy, we were asked if we minded the hotel maki a photo copy of my credit card, I have never been as for this before. If anyone makes a copy of your card it should be cancelled for security reasons. Even if the hotel is 100% honest and I don't doubt them, the policy is wrong. The breakfast is okay but could be better if it was a buffet style.
