It really a well maintained property to consider it is open for the last 46 years.

I know this is out of their control but the beach is not clean. Oberoi is doing its best to clean the beach. There is 1 guy who used fish net to get all the trash from the beach.

This is our second time at the Oberoi as our first experience was so beautiful, calming and most enjoyable. Like most nice things you pay for it but there is something about this understated private resort in the heart of Seminyak. You immediately feel you're in Bali with its traditional thatched bure style accommodation, beach sunsets by the pool, rare to come by expansive tropical garden setting (with playful little squirrels), and warm attentive service, you instantly find your zen. The pool is preciously the right temperature, the small complimentary refreshing poolside treats come just at the right time and we discovered on Fridays they do a rotisserie lunch by the pool....the chicken on this occasion was yum! Big thank you for late checkout and transfer service to airport. And for the surprise little birthday cake for my husband's 60th on arrival, nice touch team Oberoi.

My husband will always say TV channel options and internet not enough for him. I'm happy to tune out with my book by the pool. Not sure the food and coffee hit the mark, I think they try to be everything and it doesn't quite deliver, little bit average or maybe too clinical, too restrained? for the quality of property, it just missed something for us. We tried the gorgeous dining settings once and then went out to get our fix (apart from the rotisserie chicken by the pool, that was delicious!) We were also lucky enough to be invited to welcome drinks by GM, lovely touch, GM was away OK but no exec staff even said hello???

The gardens are lovely. The staff is very friendly and kind. Nothing is too much trouble. The garden villa with pool had a large pool and a superb private garden. Your own little paradise. Excellent breakfast and lovely afternoon tea.

Two municipal waste water streams border the hotel, the smell can be off-putting. Housekeeping with fresh towels was provided generally mid to late afternoon - not helpful if you have a villa with private pool. The free water bottles have metal lids which can produce very sharp cutting edges. Light in the bathroom a bit dim. Decor in rooms could do with a refresh.Area surrounding hotel is not in keeping with a five star hotel, budget tourist vibe. Beach resort is a misnomer. Yes the hotel has substantial beach frontage. However there is no hotel presence in form of loungers or service on the (public) beach. There are lot of (non-guest) surfers and passers-by; you couldn’t swim in the water due to strong currents during our stay.

The staff is so accommodating, and it felt as though they genuinely wanted all the guests to have an amazing experience. Amazed that they organized the charging wires for all my devices on my nightstand after I left them in a mess (coiled and Velcro strapped together). I’ve never felt so pampered. The grounds were beautiful and not crowded, pool amazing right on the beach.

The beaches in the area were strewn with trash and debris, not the fault of the resort but rather the lack of waste removal by the government. The beach area at the resort itself was kept immaculate by staff so there’s at least a couple hundred feet of clean beach.

I recently stayed at this resort in Bali, and I can confidently say it was one of the best travel experiences I’ve ever had. The location was stunning and the facilities were excellent, but what truly set this place apart was the staff. From the moment I arrived, every single person I interacted with was incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful. Whether it was the front desk team, housekeeping, restaurant staff, or security, everyone went out of their way to make me feel welcome and taken care of. You could tell they weren’t just doing a job — they truly cared about the guests and it showed in every small detail. Their kindness and professionalism turned a great trip into an unforgettable one. If you’re looking for a place in Bali that combines beautiful surroundings with world-class service, this resort should be at the top of your list. I’ll absolutely be coming back.

The staff were all incredible. Everyone - from the drivers to the waiters to the gardeners - would greet you with a smile and fulfill your every wish. The food was delectable (we hear there is a new Italian chef in charge…the perfectly al dente paccheri were a give away to be honest), the cleanliness was off the charts, and the gardens & pool area were both BEAUTIFUL and extremely well maintained. We couldn’t have been more grateful to have picked the Oberoi for our stay.

Everything was exquisite, but if we had to nitpick it would be that the shower head was quite low (not great if you’re ~6ft+, and the shower gel/shampoo bottles were inconveniently small and tightly packed into the stand area so that you couldn’t grab it easily. Other than that it was faultless!

Location and beautiful grounds

Not enough selection of food, swimming pool only limited one and looks old. None of the furniture in the units are updated look very outdated.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Oberoi, and it exceeded my expectations. The location is fantastic, providing easy access to the vibrant life of Seminyak while still offering a peaceful resort setting. The service was exceptional—the staff went above and beyond. Their friendliness truly made a difference, creating a welcoming atmosphere that felt like home. The food was great but there’s also plenty of fantastic restaurants close by. This hotel is the perfect blend of tranquility and accessibility, making it an ideal choice for anyone looking to unwind amidst the hustle and bustle of the area. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a memorable stay in Seminyak!

Breakfast was nice however some years ago when we stayed they had white table cloths on the table for breakfast and this was missing this time. Main restaurant was nice with good food but a bit overpriced.

The paving in the walkways needs to be re-laid. I twisted my foot twice due to the uneven levels. Resort should either be adults only or a pool for kids should be added as there where some days that the pool was very busy and noisy with kids. These are my main recommendations for improvements otherwise a lovely place with great service and professional employees

If you want to experience the essence of Bali, before it was a major tourist hotspot, The Oberoi is the place to go. The grounds are expansive, well-manicured and tranquil, you can't hear any of the hustle and bustle from the street, yet you are amongst one of the best areas to stay for shopping, eating and entertainment. The staff are wonderful and truly understand the meaning of hospitality. They are attentive and accommodating, anticipate your needs and contribute to a luxury stay. The resort offers all the extras you would expect from a 5-star rating. Although the resort is older compared to others in the area, it has been maintained to the highest level. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are spacious and clean, and the resort offers a relaxing and uncluttered experience. There is so much space you tend to wonder where everyone else is. I have visited Bali over 10 times and stayed all over the island in many different hotels and resorts. The Oberoi is now my favourite and I would recommend this to those looking to find relaxation, tranquillity, and luxury. 10/10

The only thing that could have been better for us would have been cancelling our other hotel bookings and staying longer at The Oberoi.
