We slept for 1 night. Location was perfect and quiet, it had a view to a lake (although it was not Balaton). The room was ok but kind of old looking (I think it is the theme of the entire house). The staff was great, spoke Enghlish very well - they helped us store our bikes overnight and recommended us a good restaurant nearby. The breakfast was ok. There is a selection of wines and beer at additional cost. The pool was clean. Parking was free and kind of secure.

The bathroom and the room were quite small and cramped. The floors were squeaking when guests were walking on the corridors.

The breakfast was amazing with more variety than I’d ever seen. It included homemade jams, areas of breads, hot and cold meats, eggs, yogurt/cereals, juices, cheeses in the historic setting. The food choices were marked for gluten which is very helpful. The staff was friendly, spoke English and was helpful. The building is 200 years old with a thatched roof. The room was very clean. It’s near the lake which is beautiful.

The wooden floors make noise when a roller bag is going down the hall, but it’s a very old building and that’s to be expected.

Accommodation in 1800's conditions with 2025 amenities (bathroom, hot water). Tasty breakfast and possibility to dine outside in the garden.

It's not a complaint, it's a suggestion, review the mattresses (it may just be a matter of personal taste), also the fact that we paid for the room with "lake view" but it wasn't so, but it wasn't a problem. Recommendation, if you are looking for lake view accommodation this is not what you need, the location has many other advantages that make it a good option for accommodation.

Great location, a short walk away from Belső-tó, the Lavender House, the town center and many other important places to visit. Walking distance away from multiple restaurants. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was abundant with a lot of variety. Room was clean and spacious with air conditioning unit, water kettle, coffee machine and small fridge. Bed big and comfortable. Parking on site for an extra price.

The WiFi was often spotty, but the staff found a solution for that. The room wasn’t that easy to air out, but A/C unit was definitely helpful there.

We loved the breakfast! It was all fresh home made and every breakfast type you could ask for, eggs, meats, cereal, porridge, pancakes, homemade compote, fresh juices. delicious! There was a lovely courtyard to sit in sun and eat breakfast. The room was very comfortable and large enough for two to sleep one in lounge and one in bedroom.

My only wish was that the pool did not close so early and that the area around the pool was cleaned and mowed so you could sit by the pool. It also would be great if you could look out over the lake

Beautiful location in a picturesque corner of the town. Peace and quiet all around. Very safe place, friendly to families with children. Very good and varied breakfasts. Polite and smiling staff. Rooms clean, tastefully arranged. We are returning at the end of the vacation.

Upon entering the room, there was a smell of dampness coming from the bathroom. Forgivable, with overall satisfaction with the facility.

The breakfast was very good. There was so much choice, especially of baked goods and different kinds of bread which was freshly baked. Lots of choice in Coffee, juices, fruit. There was a wide selection of meat items including pate and different types of sausages.

The bathroom's beautiful, but not at all guest friendly. The tub in the bathroom had a small window which wasn't covered and anyone could see in. The taps, hand shower etc. get very hot with hot water as they are made of brass. All the windows in the rest of the suite are uncovered and anyone can peek in so you need to be mindful where you're standing if you want some privacy.

Breakfast was fantastic. A large selection of local foods. Small "langos" were especially tasty. The staff was very helpful and answered all our questions. A great room for parking bicycles, where e-bikes can also be recharged. Pets are welcome and no one had a problem with a dog.

I recommend including the parking fee directly in the accommodation price. In the same way, point out directly on the website that an extra (reasonable) price is paid for pets.

The Houses of History was an ideal place to stay in Tihany. As a birder, I was happy to be close to the small inner lake Belso-to and the hotel is only a 10-minute walk into town, albeit a climb up the hill. The woman who checked us in was extremely knowledgeable about the area and made great recommendations for dinner, hikes and beaches. The room was large, which was important to us since we were traveling with our Labrador retriever, and the beds were so very comfortable, especially the pillows. Breakfast was not only delicious but also served in a restaurant filled with antiques. Very charming, indeed!

The WiFi connection was intermittent.

The compound itself looks nice. There buildings are old but well maintained. The yard looks nice and clean. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was nice. I liked the idea that they serve langosh for breakfast, it was a fun addition. There's a second yard with a pool area, but i haven't used it, so not much to say.

The soundproofing between rooms isn't great, but i had civilised neighbors and could get a good night's sleep. They don't have a lunch/dinner service, but you can wonder off and have dinner elsewhere. Just pay attention to closing times of the restaurants & taverns: quite a lot of them close around 18:00. They charge you for on-site parking. For the price you pay for the room, i would expect complimentary parking. Especially since it's parking on the dirt, next to the property.
