The location of the Hiona Beach Hotel is good. It is close to the attractive village of Palaekastro with its many tavernas and a 20 to 30 minute walk to Hiona Beach itself. The surrounding countryside is lovely. We hired a car only for three out of the 14 days we spent at the hotel, and clearly having a car all the time may have been a better option. That said, there are many beautiful walks. The swimming pool, although shallow, was very welcome and well appointed.

The hotel is looking rather tired and could do with a facelift. For the cost of the accommodation, the hotel tried hard to produce a good breakfast, but the result was disappointing and the coffee unpleasant.

The stay at this hotel was wonderful!! the place is very clean, the breakfast is authentic, nutritious and delicious! The hotel staff is amazing, answers every question give recomendaciones and is very kind!! The location of the hotel is literally walking distance from the center of the village- There are an great restaurants ( Elena, retro and more), mini markets, a souvenir shop and local shops, but I would recommend renting a car to travel and see the beautiful places on the island!! we were very happy to stay at Hiona hotel and we definitely going to come back 🌿

The receptionist was one of the most helpful of all and we received a full set of recommendations for all sorts of activities around the area right at our arrival. The hotel is small and so was the room too. But it was clean and quiet and the air conditioning worked well. Since we spend mot of our time on the beach, the room size was not any real issue for us. Anyway had to do some work on our vacation as well and luckily these hours took place in places we had more spacious accommodation. For basic vacation with only a normal amount of luggage it would have been perfect. Hiona Holliday Hotel is located only two minutes walk from the Palaikastro village center having multiple nice tavernas and cafes, supermarkets etc. And a 10 minute drive from the Vai palm beach. But since it is located just outside village center, it is very peaceful place to stay. A nice small and well maintained pool area as well.

The breakfast was a very basic one. Had asked beforehand if they have gluten-free options and the answer was yes. To be exact, no gluten-free bread or special products were available, but one could choose to have for example eggs and bacon, some youghurt, nuts, fruits etc. instead of bread and toppings. Had known this, I would have brought my own bread along.

My room was very clean and functional. The hotel is in a convenient location and within easy walking distance to the town square, where there are good restaurants, markets, and shops. The owners are very friendly and helpful. A simple, nourishing breakfast is served each morning and included in the price, which is a good value. Though I didn't use the pool, it was large and very clean. There is good seating outside.

Sometimes, the hall was quite dark. A motion-sensor light would solve the problem. I like my bed a little softer, but it was completely fine for a good night's sleep.

Wonderful, helpful, friendly staff who are multilingual. A lovely pool and a fabulous breakfast is included. The hotel is walking distance from everything (tavernas, shops, etc) and very close to great beaches. Our room was small but had all we needed along with air-conditioning and a balcony with sea view. Highly recommend!

While we only stayed for one night, we enjoyed the modern bathroom, the comfortable beds and the clean room. Check-In was easy and quick. There are several restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel that can be reached by foot. We did not use the pool, but it looked clean. The breakfast was okay for one night, though we would have appreciate a bigger selection of fresh and healthy options for a longer stay. The hotel is close to a variety of beautiful beaches if you have access to a car.

As mentioned above, the breakfast could use some more fresh and healthy options, as it currently relies on a rather large selection of breads and puff pastry with cheese. Additionally, there was some dirty spots on some of the towels. Otherwise, however, the room was very clean.

Ana and the whole team are so friendly and authentic. It is very quite, very clean and a good starting point for tracking, beach, Sitia, Vai etc. Fully enjoyed being here the second time. The nearby village has plenty of good taverns, so everybody can find his/her favorite from Giros Pita to fresh fish.

Cleanliness and quiet surroundings, no loud music played around the hotel making the stay very relaxing. Tasty breakfast with hot and cold options, including sweet and savoury snacks. We got totally spoilt... Attention to detail everywhere, the team was really dedicated to making our stay pleasant - thank you!

The honey jar has disappered after first two days, the plastic-wrapped marmalades and honey and margarine could be replaced with better quality and more eco-friendly products. Heated pool would be a great bonus!

Our room was modern and very clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The air conditioning is also modern and efficient and can adjust to all settings and temperatures. The hotel has a nice pool and a decent breakfast. Free parking onsite is a bonus and really convenient. The ladies working at this hotel are extremely nice, always available at reception and are willing to do whatever it takes to ensure you enjoy your stay. A short 4 minute stroll takes you into town where there are mini markets, restaurants, pharmacy etc. The beautiful Vai Beach is only 11 minutes away by car. Don’t hesitate to book this hotel. The place is calm and nice restaurant around. Room is very clean, the balcon has facilities to hang clothes. The owner is very nice and can speak French
