Beautiful view from the room and the lobby Breakfast is very good ( except juices which were just water… ) Restaurant is also good but you have to book before your trip. Food served at the bar is also nice.
The staff was ok, but nothing special, not really interested to help or knowing the area around. The cleaning in the lobby wasn’t done, we had to remove previous guests mess to be able to sit at a table, and clean the table ourselves. There were a medicine event when we were there so we heard loud music and loud people ( crowded in the lobby!) which wasn’t relaxing as expected. ( and no one told us ahead or apologies )

We stayed at Hotel Fjället for 3 nights just before Christmas 2024 and absolutely adored this place. The location is stunning and unique yet easily accessible by night train from Stockholm. Upon arrival, an employee met us at the station to fetch our luggage. We walked up to the hotel (about 10 minutes), absorbing the atmosphere of the place. Sitting on top of a hill, Hotel Fjället overlooks lake Torneträsk and the iconic mountain Lapporten behind which we saw the sun rising around 9am. Our room enjoyed a mountain view as well. The bed was comfortable and besides the basics (wifi, TV) I liked having tea/coffee facilities in our room. There are hiking trails and ski slopes around the hotel. You can rent Wintersport equipment at a small shop next to the hotel.Just before Christmas, it was rather calm. Apparently, the ski season starts later. You'll find a pretty well-equipped gym and two Saunas. After our hikes at -18°C we really enjoyed the Sauna:) The hotel's common areas were very cozy with fireplaces, Christmas decoration and incredible views. There's a bar, a shop for the most important groceries and a good restaurant. All the staff was really nice, friendly and much more communicative than I am used to from Southern Sweden.
The hotel wifi was open and therefore I didn't dare to use it. Dear staff, please use password protection at the least. In the restaurant, I would have wished for some more variety. A daily changing menu perhaps. Then again, I didn't discover the bar menu with burgers etc before our last evening. The hotel might have some minor weakness that the marvelous location, the atmosphere and the nice staff make you forget easily. It's a magical place. I would come back and bring my family for another Christmas break.

Located just outside Abisko, the resort is a great location to view the Northern Lights. You literally just walk up the hill. The lodge is very comfy. Great views over the valley and lake. The staff is very friendly. Pricing was reasonable considering where you are. Good breakfast and dinner options. Cool hikes and activities at your doorstep.
If you plan to go to Abisko during your stay you will need to rent a car. The taxi is very expensive and not easily available. The room is cozy and you can hear some hallway noise at night.

We went there for new years! The breakfast was amazing, staff were nice and the accomodation was also very comfortable. We could see the Northen Lights every night, from the hotel. The sauna worked and was nice, and we also enjoyed hiking in the beautiful mountain that the hotel is placed on. They also provided board games and we had an excellent time!
The hotel is a bit far away (up the hill) from the bus stop, and the hotel does not have (or at least it didn't work for us) a transfer to help us with the luggage. Which meant we had to walk up several meters in -26°C. Also, as a suggestion, the hotel could provide us an alternative to the taxi that costs 140 euros back and forth (6 minutes ride) to go to the Abisko National Park (even if we had to pay for it).

Beautiful views, friendly staff, clean & comfy room, great breakfast, very nice lobby and lounge areas! We went specifically to see the Northern lights and we were so lucky: saw lights 3 of 4 nights there - the night with highest activity (just walked a bit up the hill behind hotel) was spectacular and even saw it from our room overlooking the lake when inside. Great wi-fi and even some English channels on tv! Good set-up allows you to stock up on additional coffee/tea/clean towels daily if required. And hotel transported our luggage from and to station, which was great!
No supermarket (or any kind of shop) nearby; completely reliant on hotel and their little shop with basics, so very expensive - but you can’t hold them accountable for exchange rate 😉

Very good and various breakfast, only pity that there weren’t traditional sweets from Sweden (like kanelbulle, lussebulle etc.) Location is great as the view over Björkliden and the lake, neighbourhood is very peculiar and fascinating, so astonishing houses and natural environment.
Absence of buses and various menu at the restaurant with more traditional dishes.

We loved everything about the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and fresh, although the price was a little bit expensive.
The food! Breakfast was good and varied but lunch and dinner was not a great success! Especially New Year’s Eve dinner. It was a set menu of appetizer, main course and dessert for 800 kr per person. We paid almost 2000 kr for 2 people with drinks and we went back to our rooms hungry:(

Our stay at this hotel was absolutely magical—it felt like we were in a Christmas movie! Although a snowstorm kept us from exploring much of the surroundings, the breathtaking views and cozy atmosphere made up for it. This is definitely a place we’d love to return to as a couple!

The views are magnificent, the staff is friendly (and seemingly very youthful), the food is of high standard (both breakfast and dinner) and the rooms and hotel areas very cosy and in appropriate mountain style.
I am personally not a fan of shower curtains. I prefer a door or a cabin with an open side.

The hotel is a little old, but the bedrooms are very comfortable and clean. You have a great view if the weather allows. The breakfast is also very very good with great variety of food. The inside restaurant is also very good.
If you comme only to see the northern lights at abisko, be aware that there is a 10-15 min ride and the weather change a lot between the 2 places. Maybe it was our bad luck, but it was a sporty ride in the snow.
