The staff were absolutely AMAZING in helping us with an after-hours medical emergency (calling ambulance and directing ambulance driver when he got lost finding the lodge - to the point of driving out to meet them). They went beyond the call of duty and nothing was too much trouble. Lovely swimming pool in hotel area... Slatted walkways and "tree house" style rooms were beautiful. Wonderful setting. Well cared for establishment. Braai area and outdoor seating for the lodge was useful! We had Nyala visiting us regularly at the lodge.

Intermittent energy fault - not due to load-shedding - which meant there was no electricity (or even air-con) in the hotel rooms for part of our stay. I expect this was a once-off issue, but it meant that even our phones were not charged (which ended up being a major set-back during a medical crisis). Whilst the buffet dinner was tasty, it was expensive for what it was, especially since our group made up the only diners and this meant that they dished us up in the kitchen, instead of our party being able to pick and choose visually and revisit foods we particularly enjoyed.

This is a game lodge located near to Hluluwe. The access is through gravel roads and no lights at night. The lodge is nice with some animals and with walking trails. The pools are located in each camp inside the lodge. The cottages are excellent with space and well furnished. Beds are comfortable and the kitchen is good. Toilets are big. You may have the luck to have a giraffe sleeping near your cottage! Kids love it.

The internet connection is bad and slow sometimes. Could not understand why on some nights it was so slow and others not. I guess this may be also a positive thing, but for us it was bad. Vodacom has good signal and MTN has zero signal.

Our chalet was spacious and clean and the setting was just perfect for a bush holiday. We enjoyed using the pool and sitting on the patio watching the Nyala. We braaied for 3 nights and treated ourselves to a restaurant meal on our last night. Here we got to see the bushbabies being fed. The staff were friendly but special mention to Wanda who took us on a game drive. He made the experience awesome!

The dust road to reception was full of massive potholes that had become mini dams after the rains. The kitchen needs updating and some more utensils like salad bowls. The drawers fell off at first pull. The oven wasn't working but as soon as we mentioned it to the staff, they replaced it with a brand new unit.

after driving 5 min through dense forest we arrived at the reception, checked in and then went to the viewing deck which was overlooking a wide open field. The view was overwhelming.. deers, blue wildebeest, Zebras and three gIraffes were grazing in the wide expanse not more than 50m from us. The same 3 giraffes 'blocked' out path when driving the few meters to our bungalow. What an experience! The staff were super helpful. The AC wasn't properly cooking, a repair company was just on the premises and they gave them the order to right away also refill the gas on our AC unit.

Location was right in the middle of the bush. Lovely room away from the others. Staff were friendly. Breakfast included in the price and that was very good.

The rooms are sprayed with some sort of freshener and I presume then closed up. The smell was terrible. Luckily the lodge was not too full and I could open up a couple of other rooms and find one that was a bit better. Supper was mediocre for the price. The boardwalk could def do with some serious maintenance

It was on a private game farm and we saw Zebra's as we drove in. It is very quaint and an easy drive from Ballito as a halfway stopover on your way to Sodwana or Mozambique. They had a boardwalk which overlooks a plain so you can go animal viewing without driving too far. We were able to check in at 10pm and check out at 5:30am (But we decided to leave later after realising how beautiful it was, so that we could do some game viewing before we left, )

We did not eat there we booked at the self-catering chalets. We would have loved to have breakfast but find R185 pp is a bit expensive. We did have a drink at the bar witch we loved as the bar lady was on the ball and so help full and friendly and to top it off, she brought us a bowl of popcorn, what a nice gesture. The property is like a little place in heaven rest for the soul. Will definitely be back, and the birding is fantastic.

The pool was fantastic and the meals were really good. There was a great ambiance at the restaurant. Watching the bush babies come to eat was so lovely We saw giraffe everyday and nyala antelope we always around our accommodation. We had a fantastic safari (in the pouring rain) but our guide, Siyabonga, was really good. There was a break for hot coffee and biscuits which was so welcome. They were very organised with blankets and raincoats.

Unfortunately the power cuts created hovoc for everyone but that is out of their control. However the new manager is doing some great improvements - interesting role to take on after the facilities being closed for a couple of years due to covid.
