Right beside the gate to the park, so come out and straight there (pre book your entry if self driving, or wait in line for 30 minutes to cross the bridge). We booked a room that had a bed missing so they moved us to a better one at no extra cost, which had great views of the river (heard hippos down there) and was perfect, so that was really nice of them (Leo sorted us out). We had our own BBQ and kitchen and the shower was strong and the beds very comfortable. Places like this in private reserves cost bundles, so this is a good way to experience a similar stay at a very reasonable price.

We booked the two bedroom hut overlooking the water and it was beautiful! The location is AMAZING. It's literally at the door of the park, so we got to go multiple times (we had rented a car, so we just bought tickets at the gate and self-drove a lot!). The town is also very close (7 mins) and has good food options! The staff is very nice, and they connected us for a guided safari also. Oooh and perfectly hot water for showers etc! Well stocked kitchen also!

While the bedrooms were beautiful and generally clean, it is rustic. It's like huts in the wild. It's not manicured lawns and well lit spaces. There were spider webs in the beams in the rooms. It adds to the over all thrill of the safari trip, but should be clear to anyone that comes. We had brought mosquito repellent room things to keep out all bugs. The pros are more though!

The receptionist Lionet was exceptional. He made us feel very welcome, was competent and answered all of our questions. He even offered us a free room upgrade. The location is great - calm, green and next to the river. You can easily spend multiple days there and relax between safaris. The swimming pool is great on those hot days. And it is literally right next to the Crocodile Bridge Gate of the park. If you wanna do safaris from there, you park infront of the gate and get picked up from the gate. You don't need to pay the entrance fee on top, just the safari fee (~25€). You can even watch animals from your room. We saw warthogs and impalas, but no hippos or rhinos. The rhinos were rather seen near the Malelane Gate.

The curtains in the room did not block out the sunlight. The communal kitchen is separate and a few metres away from the room (the nicer rooms have the kitchen attached). Having some basic stuff (eg mugs, cutlery) in the room would be handy.

The location. Right on the Crocodile River. Superb views, elephant, Buffalo and hippo right in front of the fence. Easy access to Kruger. They have a generator that kicks in when loadshedding. Bed very comfortable. Completely functional "outside" kitchen - you do need to keep things lock away though. Monkeys always looking for an opportunity to steal food.

There was a bat nest in the roof of the kitchen....poop and urine on the kitchen counter. But it is the bush so one can't really get upset. It was cleaned daily.

THE ROOM AND THE LOCATION WAS FANTASTIC.

There were a lot of cockroaches in the cupboard that the utensils, cutlery were in. You cannot leave the doors open because the monkeys take the food and stuff out of the room. The black mold in the shower was not a nice experience.

Beautiful view and such rustic but cute accommodation. There were elephant and buffalo most afternoons in front of our little wood cabin. Could also hear hippos all day. The bed was extremely comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The lodge had on-site cats that would come and visit us every morning and afternoon that we absolutely loved. There is a generator on the premises so that guests are unaffected by loadshedding.

Make sure you book day visits to the park in advance. The lodge does warn you of this though when you book. The quota of the park gets reached by 8 am in the morning, so you will not be able to get in if you did not book a day visit in advance, especially on public holidays.

Excellent location - close and easy access into Kruger Park. Staff were amazing. My daughter got stuck in traffic in the dark - manager drove out to meet her and assist her getting to the lodge via a different route. Really went above and beyond what was required. He kept in contact with me through out and assured me that my daughter was safe. Once they got to the lodge he upgraded their room. Definitely a very good experience!

This is our second time staying at EWR and we definitely were not disappointed. We always stay at a few place, but this one is special and seems to be number 1 each time. A truly intimate experience with nature, and lovely amenities. One thing I must note, we left our camera case more than year ago, and it was returned to us as if it was just the other day. Thanks again to the team, we will certainly be back again soon, hopefully for longer this time.
