I'm a regular guest at the hotel because I visit family in the area yearly and sometimes more than once a year I book the exact same kind of room. I prefer it over the other hotels because it feels like home. The best beds and linen. They are always maintaining and upgrading the rooms. Close to the ocean. Clean environment. Good wildlife. We take morning or afternoon walks. The grounds are always stunning and clean. And the cottage itself has a fireplace so it's cozy even in colder months. It's just West Coast hospitality as I know it to be. The best very friendly.

Honestly I didn't like that the room wasn't cleaned everyday. I had to request for it to be cleaned afterwards. And they came the Day before I left.

The breakfast was delicious with fresh produce. The view is absolutely stunning. The Dining area looks out across the bay with access to the beach right in front of the establishment. Very safe to go for a walk and enjoy the natural beauty. Plenty of bird life on the beach. The staff were very friendly , courteous and helpful. As it was extremely cold weather, a fire was going in the dining room which creates lovely warmth and ambience.

My visit was during very cold weather but the establishment tries to make one comfortable with a heater in the bedroom and fire going in the dining area. The floors in the accommodation are screeded which is very cold in the winter months.

I recently stayed in this executive suite (sea facing) and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in, the view of the ocean took my breath away. Waking up to the sight of waves gently lapping against the shore and ending the day with serene sunsets from the comfort of my room felt like a dream. Room was impeccably clean and had all amenities. The bar also had the best cocktails and friendly staff 10/10!

The room is smaller than expected, wouldn’t recommend for a long stay.

The unit was quite spacious, with a well-equipped kitchenette. The sofa and coffee table creates a nice living room atmosphere and there is even an additional table that could be used as workspace by business traveller's. This a perfect self catering unit with the added bonus of rooms being serviced daily. It was located right by the pool and also close to the restaurant that has amazing sea views.

There is really not much not to like. This venue seems to be very popular for companies who host events/conferences and all the entertainment areas (restaurant, bar and pool area) can get quite busy and noisy. It does take away a bit from the tranquil environment. Other than that, everything was great.

I was only booked for one night. The place is beautiful. The room was very big and clean. I travelled alone and I felt safe. I think the place is perfect for group travel, whether it's with family or with friends.

At check in, they require 500 bucks in case you lose your key. I didn't know this and I don't know if it was mentioned in any of the correspondence I had prior o my arrival. I didn't see it. Anyways, you can use your credit card and they put a old on the amount. A credit card not any other card. So I produce my credit card as I did not have cash, I don't carry cash. So the lady a reception calls the manager o assist as my card was not written credit card on it. So I told them it is a credit card. The manager said no they can't assist. She was rude and dismissive, offered no solution. I had to log into my banking app to show that the account is a credit card account. I found that interaction unpleasant. The only interaction I had with staff.

The location - close to the beach - fairly quiet surroundings (children on the playground just outside our unit) The sun rise & Sun sets were stunning

Not really anything to not like - however they could improve on the units perhaps getting air conditioning units - or at least a few ceiling fans would help as they were very hot during the day and only opening / working windows on one side - so no through breeze. Every morning a walk on the beach was very SAD and disheartened by the dead baby seals & birds laying there - Saldanha community needs to do something about cleaning this up everyday - its a not good for tourism.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Love the location, it is awesome. We could take our dog with and there was enough enclosed space for him. Even though our "neighbours" had there dogs as well, it was a pleasant experience.

There was no hair dryer in the cottage. There are no fans in the bedrooms and I can imagine that in summer it can become hot? The food was good but I would have appreciated if there was at least one side with the main protein (can't call it a meal), even if it was a small salad.

The staff was really friendly, especially Tieka who ensured our stay was comfortable including giving us a tour of the resort The restaurant staff even helped us set up the fireplace in our room when we asked even though it was after 9pm. The place was clean and spacious for a group of 6 and we had a cottage that was directly on the beach which was amazing

The key deposit system is a bit tricky as it’s only made for credit cards not debit but if you have cash then it should be fine

We loved absolutely everything at Blue Bay Lodge! It was the perfect place to just relax. From a delightful (halaal-friendly) continental breakfast at the beautiful restaurant, to having a dip in the pool, a braai for lunch at your cottage, lounging at the bar area, overlooking the beautiful bay, having dessert and a coffee and then a walk on the beach as the sun goes down. And then finally creeping into those crisp sheets for the best sleep. The staff is truly the heart of this resort.... did everything to make our stay the best! Thank you!

We stayed in the 3bed cottage. Beautiful sea view from the lounge and well kitted kitchen. Spacious rooms with comfortable bedding. Indoor braai area was great. Friendly staff who were responsive. We couldn't find a hairdryer in the cottage even though it was advertised as having one. We called reception and one was brought to us promptly.

No salt and pepper was provided in the kitchen. One could buy some from reception at a premium.
