What a wonderful experience and fabulous hosts! We loved every minute of this beautiful traditional hanok stay. Perfectly located within walking distance to all the main city’s attractions and definitely our favourite accommodation experience of our trip to South Korea. The breakfast was amazing and restaurant standard, the helpfulness and kindness of the hosts incredible, and the room and the facilities a wonderful architectural gem to return to at the end of each touring day. Don’t hesitate to book! P.S. We did have some very inconsiderate room guests who stayed in the room next to us and continued to laugh loudly till 1am on our first night. They had the audacity to be angry with us the next morning for being unhappy with their noise levels (despite my attempts to knock on their door during the night which they ignored). They also blamed the hosts for the thinness of the walls but it is a traditional hanok and not a modern concrete hotel! What did they expect! They were a young couple with no regard for common courtesies so certainly no fault of the accommodation. We had a normal guest the next night so had an amazing night’s sleep!

Loved everything about this property despite the experience of the other inconsiderate guests. I really hope they do not review this establishment with negative comments as it will be undeserved! The accommodation and hosts were absolutely wonderful!

Amazing authentic experience with brilliant hosts. We had an incredible time with this family. Warm hearted people with incredible sense of hospitality from the time they received us to the time they bid farewell to us. Lots of good recommendations and guidance even before we arrived to their place. The room we chose was really spacious with 2 futons and 2 bathrooms. Ideal for families or friends requiring space. Every morning we had an amazing local breakfast prepared by the lady owner, presented with so much of love and sense of humor and care. Cleanliness is a highlight of this place. Everything smelled great, and spic and span. I would definitely love to go there again and bring my family and friends. Highly recommended.

Nothing that we didn’t like. Just be prepared that part of the experience is to sleep on futon on the ground to get the energy off the ground. This might be something that others may never tried, but truly worth the experience. It’s beyond real and authentic.

Accommodation on holiday is never just a place to put your head down to sleep - it is your “home” from whence you begin exploring in the morning, and to where you look forward returning after a busy day of sightseeing. HanokInn was our “home away from home”. A beautiful, tranquil setting in which to immerse yourself into Korean culture. Our room was comfortable, the breakfast exquisite, and the owners welcomed us like family! Well situated and within walking distance to many of the major Gyeongju attractions. Excellent food choices nearby are plentiful. No hesitation in recommending this accommodation!

HanokInn was such a sweet experience to have in Gyeongju. Nestled right behind the main street of cafes and restaurants, it is the prime location for eats and sightseeing. HanokInn was clean, relaxing, and accommodating to all of our needs. The hosts speak English well and are very foreigner friendly. She prepares breakfast personally for all who stay. It was such a delicious home cooked meal. The hosts also provide very detailed information on where to sightsee which saves time on research. I would definitely recommend HanokInn to anyone coming through Gyeongju. I wish we could’ve stayed longer!

This place was an absolute dream!! Mrs and Mr Kim are the sweetest people we met on our trip, they treated us like their guests throughout the stay, and guided us through what to see and do in Gyeongju with a passion and an excitement that were contagious! The house was designed and built by them, and the care and love they put into it really shows - our room in particular was one of the most beautiful rooms we've ever stayed in, combining the aesthetic of a traditional hanok house with all the commodities of modern day. Mrs Kim's home-cooked breakfast was delicious and with so much variety, it was even better than the meals we had at star rated restaurants! Not to mention, Mrs and Mr Kim are really knowledgeable and cultured people, they told us so much about the history of South Korea and Gyeongju, and we had such insightful conversations with them that really helped us understand a lot more about this amazing culture. Gyeongju has been our favourite place we've visited on our trip, and it's also thanks to the kindness that Mrs and Mr Kim treated us with. We will definitely come back!!!

We had read excellent guest reviews of the Hanokinn and decided to book two nights there during our visit in September. We were not disappointed and would highly recommend it to other travelers. The location is ideal, just a short walk from the city’s attractions, shops, and restaurants. The bed was very comfortable, and our room had everything we needed. The building is an authentic and faithful recreation of a traditional Hanok, yet quiet, ensuring two restful nights. The beautiful garden provided the perfect spot to sit outside and unwind. The highlight, without a doubt, was the warm and generous hospitality of Mr. and Mrs. Kim. They speak excellent English, and nothing was too much trouble for them. Don’t miss Mrs. Kim’s delicious breakfast—her take on a breakfast bibimbap was outstanding. On the second morning, when we had to leave early, she even prepared breakfast sandwiches for us. Their kindness and hospitality made this stay a highlight of our trip to Korea. We highly recommend the Hanokinn to other travelers.

The hosts were amazing with us and each guest. Their kindness and care gave a homely feeling to the experience. They really took the time to make our stay special. We only stayed one night but we completely felt at home. The place itself was also fantastic, although it’s a hanok stay and you might think it doesn’t have all comforts, we felt comfortable, had all we needed and had one of our best nights of sleep here. The breakfast was amazing and allowed us to meet the other guests of the facility, which was also super nice.

We liked everything - just found it a bit pricey compared to the average of the other stays we had in South Korea, but it was such a nice experience that we felt it was money well spent regardless.

Where do I start? The whole experience was AMAZING. This is the kind of stay that we will remember for the rest of our lives! The hosts are simply WONDERFUL. They helped us, explained what to do in Gyeongju, where to eat, what to drink etc... Breakfast is served directly by the Mrs. and it's otherwordly! Maybe a little bit odd because if you're from the west you aren't really accustomed to eat so much things so early in the day, but it was all worth it! The room was spacious and sleeping on the "futons" is a great experience and very good for your back! WiFi was the best ever as every room had his own rooter. Position was fantastic too, as it was a 2 minute walk from the main street with all the restaurants, but also a 10 minute walk from the sightseeings. Overall, there's nothing that can top this, highly recommended. And I don't say this lightly.

Literally everything was perfect.

Beautiful property! The courtyard was lovely. The room was large. The host and hostess were the owners and made the stay memorable and were so gracious. She made delicious breakfasts and made the best bibimbap we had in Korea! He gave us maps and recommended things to do. Then one evening he demonstrated traditional Korean music instruments to us and had us try our hand at them. We loved staying there and would definitely stay there again.

We didn’t mind but guests should be aware that our bathroom was a little narrow and that the beds are not western mattress and box springs. The beds were fairly thick pads on the floor. We slept well but if you have creaky joints it might be hard to get up from the floor.

The inn itself was beautiful. It was my first experience sleeping on traditional Korean bedding, so that was fun. My hosts were kind, helpful, and knowledgeable about the area in a way that it made it much easier to plan my sightseeing. The location was fantastic. The host introduced me to another guest who had access to a car. She kindly agreed to let me tag along during her sightseeing. As a result I was able to see things I would not have been able to visit if left to my own devices. If I ever return to the area I will definitely be returning to this inn

Every morning the host provides a delicious, traditional, Korean breakfast. It is absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately I’m generally a “coffee and go” breakfast guy. It was made very clear that I was expected to “eat well”😁. Complaining about this is like complaining about being loved too much 🥰. It was well worth doing, but it required a mental adjustment on my part. Just keep this in mind and enjoy the delicious food.
