Our room was large with a grand balcony and the bathroom was good for shower, counter space, and closet. The single beds pushed together were pretty comfortable (and we were tired!!). It was wonderful having the hot spring fed pools and access to the spa (we were happy with the jets for back and feet. The included breakfast had a fair spread of choices.

Everything was a good overall value in what was formerly a luxury hotel. We appreciated being there and right on the Camino, but I squirmed to realize that the hotter outdoor hot tub was quite dirty. The breakfast room was very chaotic with all the offerings on one side, but it’s the Camino in high season, after all!

the pool and spa were good, after the long day walking. Staff very friendly, it has good location. The indoor spa pool was very relaxing as they arrange to be private for 30 min for each room, with nice jacuzzi and seated water thermal water jets. It has a good garden with pool for a nice rest and to enjoy a good day after the Santiago walking.

we have asked for vegan gluten free and vegetarian breakfast to take away and the gluten free vegan was not marked as gluten free, therefore the person couldn't take the bread as it look exact the same as the other.

I love old-fashioned thermal spas, and this is a classic property located directly on the Camino walking trail, so the Balneario Acuna is filled with pellegrinos, overnighting to soak their tired and weary bones. The rooms are large and spacious with high ceilings beautifully situated on a river with a pastoral setting and a short walk to an ancient Roman Bridge. This little town of Caldas de Reis is just the perfect place to take in its beautiful countryside, soak in the thermal waters and simply unwind for a few days. There is both an indoor whirpool spa and two outdoor pools with different temperatures. Also, there is free parking onsite and breakfast is included.

Unless otherwise requested, many of the hotel rooms are located directly above a small but busy road that runs through the town. It's not a problem unless the room gets warm and you have to open up the double pane windows; in this case, the noise from the street can get loud. If you are a light sleeper, best to inquire about a quiet room off the street.

The thermal pool is great, I recommend just buying access to this on the day, without paying for extra stuff when you book.

I felt slightly misled by the spa package that I pre-booked. Essentially all we got was 30 minutes access to an indoor swimming pool with jets and falling water - this would be great for a romantic couple, but I believes we were getting some sort of massage when I booked.

Right smack in the path of Camino. Such a historical building. The facilities are fine, no complains. Staff were very friendly. Loads of restaurants, supermarket and cafes within few minutes of walking distance. Breakfast is good. A must have for pilgrims. The swimming pool and spa looks nice. I did not use the facilities as it was raining.

If your room is facing the pool area, you need to drag your luggage through the gravel path. I was lucky to get a room within the same building.

The location is superb! Right on the river and conveniently close to many restaurants. Staff were cheerful, attentive and helpful. The best part for a hot summer day after walking the Camino is the gigantic mineral spring pool.

The beds are uncomfortable and old and there are no fans/ac. It was hot during our stay so we left the door/window open for a cross breeze.

A different experience on Camino, was not expecting a hotel with spa and heated pool, have a massage! The breakfast was OK but it was plentiful if you wanted. The town is wonderful, across the river is a tapas bar with the best food we sampled all trip. This is a place to stay if you need a longer stay on Camino.

Only the breakfast, not great coffee!

The location, very friendly staff, nice room and the swimming pool. It was lovely to relax in a green setting by the pool after a long hot days walking.

The breakfast was a bit of a scramble as a lot of the guests were walking the Camino and needed an early start before the heat of the day. I would have liked it to begin serving at 7:30 instead of 08:00. The coffee machine was not very good and they need more than one for the number of guests.

Lovely old spa hotel but needs some renovation. Lower part of doors in bathroom had mould. Location is wonderful and I had views of the river. I was looking forward to trying the outdoor hot springs pool (included with booking) but was disappointed that they were still closed for the season - maybe opening dates could be mentioned in the booking description. Paid extra to try the spa indoor murmuring pool which was nice but different experience (loud murmur! and water was not hot). Breakfast was excellent!

The hotel is located in a very nice place by the river and offer free thermal pools. There is spa as well. They have very good size lobby and restaurant. I was allocated to a room in a housing complex besides the pools. The room was comfy and very silent. Just perfect.

Nothing to complain.
