Historic building / Country location / Large room with balcony overlooking river / Courtyard drinks area / Professional staff / Good buffet breakfast / Easy free parking / Pleasant 40 minute walk along rough track alongside river to Cangas.

Bathroom very poor with cracked tiles and missing grouting / Marked furniture / Laminate floor stained with previous guests suntan lotion - requires specialist removal, so not a reflection on general cleanliness, which was good / Café limited opening hours and seemed every item with cheese? / Generally, hotel not up to 5* standard.

Unique setting with a rich history dating back to the 8th Century, now (in the original monastery cloisters) beautifully renovated into very comfortable, large apartments that are well-equipped. Didn’t see the accommodation in the new wing but I’m guessing it was less full of character. Antique furnishings and artefacts throughout, and the chapel is beautiful. Our stay coincided with my wife’s birthday, and she was surprised (and delighted) with a special treat at the end of our meal in the restaurant (which was very good).

The welcome and check in at reception was a bit perfunctory and slightly awkward - it felt like an administrative process only rather than a welcome to an elegant hotel. Booking online for the restaurant was difficult for non-Spanish speakers.

The way that the building was used with respect for its history and religious connections. The room looked out onto a large lawn with the river flowing just beyond. Breakfast was excellent 👌, breakfast room had windows going down to the floor, you almost felt as if you were in the garden. The bar area was next to what I presume had been the cloister and made a very attractive and peaceful place to spend an hour.

Price of evening meals. It would be nice to have a kettle in the room to make a drink during the night or early in the morning.

Breakfast: Good selection but hot breakfast selection was limited and it took too long to get to the table. Churros were NOT artesanos. Cheesebar: Some nice items on the menu, service could be very good if there were enough staff.

Reception team were not prepared adequately to offer Tourist Information to your clients.

A lovely Parador with a big, very comfortable room. Staff in the restaurant were great, we really enjoyed the food. Walked to Cangas de Onis to the roman bridge; very nice. Good base for the mountains and the coast.

It was very good so not much, bar staff were a little stretched and we were told we couldn’t be aerved drinks in the courtyard despite others having them. Minor point though, it was good overall.

Beautiful historic location. The grounds and interior spaces like the library and chapel are the real draw here. We spent quite a while just looking around and taking pictures. The room was a bit smaller than we expected but nice enough. I liked the antique furnishings. The food in the restaurant is pretty good.

The A/C didn't work at all. The bathroom was big but could do with an update. The shower was uncomfortably narrow and got the floor very wet.

A beautifully restored historic building. Nice rooms with balconies overlooking the woods and river. Lovely courtyard for drinks and light meals. Ample parking. Close to a wide range of great outdoor activities in a beautiful part of the world.

Restaurant food is great, but the dining room decor needs improvement.

Very friendly staff, comfortable rooms, close to the river (lovely to swim in when we stayed!), and amazing breakfast with so much local produce to try, definitely have breakfast here if you're staying!

A little noisy with the nearby road if you like to sleep with the windows open, but air conditioning in rooms so not a problem apart from climate-conscious energy use.

The rooms were lovely, well appointed and comfortable...as we expected, the bar area was very tranquil and interesting. The breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and good value.

The location was remote from the town and so one had to take the car to get anywhere else to eat.....and the restaurant was heavily booked by the time we got there.

Nice location, works best if you have a car. The old monastery is lovely part of the hotel. The staff were great and very helpful. Could base from which to visit the area.

The hotel is out of the town and it isn't really practice to walk in and out in an evening. The food menu in the bar is limited.
