This is a magnificent building that has been very sympathetically converted and which has a fascinating history. The rooms were an excellent size and simply and stylishly appointed. The reception staff were very professional and helpful
The electricity in the room seemed to go on and off almost at random and was possibly a cost saving measure. We had a very disappointing meal in the bar/cafe in the evening, with mediocre service and decided on the basis of that not to have breakfast. It was a pity that we weren't able to visit the Renaissance church which forms part of the structure.

Stunning setting in the hills. The hotel has maintained its charm and splendour from its days as a monastery but has been converted beautifully to its current purpose. The bedroom was magnificent- large, well equipped and full of character. Local walks are good and the nearby town has an excellent set of bars and restaurants. The hotel receptionists were helpful and friendly. Food in the restaurant was of a good standard. It really is worth a must see place.
The choice of bar snacks is quite limited.

The quiet elegance. The quality of the building’s construction and decor. The scale of the rooms and corridors. The friendly and helpful staff.
There was a lack of meal choices for those will small appetites. Whilst appreciating that the hotel seeks to establish a reputation for fine food I feel this need not prevent it offering something for those with simpler tastes and small appetites. We stayed four nights and did not eat in the hotel once. I am sure the food was excellent but nothing suited our eating style.

The room was lovely as was the bathroom. Very comfortable. The parador is very old and it was interesting to learn of it’s history. The library was very impressive, There was a leisure centre and a swimming pool but we didn’t make use of those.
The breakfast for 18€ per person was so overpriced and certainly nothing like as good as we enjoyed elsewhere in Spain & Portugal. The atmosphere was more like a busy cafeteria, service was very rushed, we were given incorrect dishes , not at all pleasant or relaxed. Having had one bad breakfast experience we didn’t eat our evening meals in the hotel. The drinks at the hotel bar were very expensive, more atmosphere at the little local bar & much cheaper too!

what a fantastic parador, had to ask if we were in the right location! great check in staff friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. this is a great place to stay, huge amount of history ,hidden gems include :the swimming pool and the library. the rooms are huge and well appointed, the bar was reasonable as was the choice of evening food from it. would recommend anyone going to the area to choose this.

The first thing that stands out is the warm welcome: always a pleasure. The property is fantastic. It is, basically, a modernised historical building. The breakfast is very complete and delicious. The exposition of local crafts shouldn’t be missed. The curator is knowledgeable and friendly.
There was a wedding going on until late, and to then still charge the normal price, especially if one’s room is directly facing the festivities is a bit steep and, frankly, not wholly correct. The library room is wonderful, but the collection of books seems mostly random and doesn’t fit the environment. There are hundreds of copies of a book called ‘Un perro andalus: 80 Años después’. The efficient approach of the staff can sometimes, but rarely, veer into slight coldness.

An amazing building - fascinating to walk around and explore eg the chapel and library. Everything had been renovated to the highest possible standard. Our room was vast and well laid out. The corridors were very spacious - giving a calm air to the place. The breakfast was extremely good. The bar snacks and drinks in the evening were surprisingly cheap eg a very good portion of smoked salmon + mashed avocado with 2 toasts for €8 with a glass of house wine costing €3 - €3.50. The parking was easy and free. Not the cheapest hotel one could find in Spain BUT nevertheless, for the quality and unique experience, it struck us as being of excellent value.
nothing - but the surrounding towns are somewhat functional ie this hotel would be good as a base for exploring the region if one had a car but may not work so well if one spent many days on end in and around the hotel.

This was an exceptional property. It was beautiful, well maintained, historic with gorgeous upgrades. The staff was warm and accompanying, and excellent with our children. The food was also delicious. We loved everything about the stay.

Another fabulous, historic Paradore with lots to see and discover. Our room was very large and modern, but with original hostoric touches.
The menu was quite limited compared to other Paradores we've stayed at. Also we both had issues with our starters, which they offered to replace. The mains and desserts were top notch however.

The parador was in a fabulously converted monastery with access to areas like the ruins in the lower floor and spectacular library and lounges. the rooms were spacious and very comfortable and well appointed
Having the ability to make tea or coffee in the room would be great. We ate in the restaurant and we were not impressed.
