Our overnight stay was duly an experience. Our room was right off the gothic cloisters and of a height, I had never experienced before. The location is attached to the monastery and it was possible to park for free right outside the entrance. Guadalupe is worth a visit even if you are not Catholic and the surrounding woods and mountains are breathtaking. We had breakfast at the hotel and it was sort of extensive by Spanish standards, as scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages (very nice, need to be tried) for the English visitors and a feeble selection of cheese and ham for the German visitors were on offer in a buffet style. A coffee machine supplied any type of coffee you wanted. The beds were very comfortable.
Perhaps less choice at breakfast and a higher quality? A typical Spanish breakfast with tostadas and a bit of jamon , cheese and tomatoes would have done for us (my husband is English, I am Austrian). No need to bend over backwards for us, we are happy with local food.

It was a delight and privilege to stay at this unique historic hospedería. We loved the setting, the location, the wonderful courtyards, the spacious room, the meals …. By the way, the breakfast offering was very good. It may be that some people didn’t see all four breakfast stations offering both cold and cooked choices.

This place is amazing, such a beautiful building, with so much character, you could really feel that it was part of the monastery. Our room was large and comfortable. We had dinner in the restaurant, the food was very good, also had breakfast too. We parked the car next to the hotel, which worked well.
Everything was great

Exquisite setting, spacious rooms, and very quiet grounds. The adjacent church is definitely worth a visit! The Boletus Extramadura dish was outstanding! Did not care for the Migas, but probably a matter of personal preference.
WiFi was spotty and slow in the room. Our shower did not drain well and overflowed all over the bathroom and bedroom. The drain was cleared by the staff, but was still slow to drain. In town, the food was a bit pricey for not as good quality as we have found elsewhere in Spain.

Location was excellent....but the road to it was closed because of a wedding! We had to ride our large fully loaded motorbike up a totally unsuitable cobbled street, if the bike had gone over there would have been no way we could have ever lifted it! Loved the room.
See above! Restaurant was closed because of the wedding!

We loved the experience to sleep in a monastery. Very large rooms, comfortable beds. Good breafast that you can take on the beatiful courtyard of the hotel.
Breakfast only starts at 8.30. Especially in wintertime this means a late start of the day. They have a restaurant but it only opens at 9pm. Having a warm dinner in Guadalupe before 9pm is virtually impossible. A microwave at the disposal of clients would be a big plus. Staff at the reception not very friendly. Pay upon arrival, in the morning it took us 15 minutes to find someone at the reception.

A stunning building, centrally located and with some parking. The staff even encouraged us to park our motorcycle right by the reception entrance.
Nothing major. The air con could barely cope on a warmish but not really hot night and the breakfast was less impressive that at several smaller places we stayed.

Twin rooms were spacious and had a third bed too. Quiet rooms with AC if needed. Spacious bathroom. Wonderful location under the arches, with superb views of the cloisters. Unfortunately the bar was closed.
Pillows in room 118 were not comfortable. Fine in room 117 where I stayed. Food at the restaurant wasn't really special, the lamb ribs (chuletas) very fat, the salad I asked on the side was a poor iceberg., Desserts were fine. Service was friendly and fast. Breakfast was included and fine enough (pastries, bread, cheese, ham, scrambled eggs, sausages, yogourt). We found the coffee horrible (from a machine... tasted chemical... mild powdered, a bit sad really). The non gluten bread hard and dry.
