Our small dog was made very welcome. The hotel is very comfortable and close to the centre of the small town/village. It is very old and full of antiques and fascinating pieces. I loved the monogrammed bedding, made you feel special. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was superb, lots of choice and we were welcomed to sit in the lounge with the dog so not in the restaurant but he was with us. The young woman on reception was very welcoming and very happy to tell us more about the local area and places to see. Her enthusiasm for the hotel and area was engaging. We ate in a lovely bar/restaurant, really good food. We strolled through the town and loved walking alongside the river Ebro. We loved our stay and would happily go back. Old, characterful building. Quirky. Very clean. Only a small village but we’ll placed for restaurants. And of course the Rioja wine region. The staff were all friendly but the guy on reception was unbelievably helpful. I used the garage for parking, he shows me where the garage is then waits while I go and get the car to direct me to park - all for 9 euros a night parking!Recommended a brilliant restaurant and great value. If you want to go to that region, then it’s a great place to stay. Also not expensive.

It's a characterful, historic, genuine hotel in a sleepy, one horse village. Out of season there are two bars, one open (very good) local restaurant that opens at 8:30pm. Descriptions/directions from Ricardo, your host, are in straightforward English. If you like simple and traditional, then this place, and Brinas, are great.

I didn't mind but there isn't really a hotel bar, although Ricardo supplies bottles of wine.

Lovely old building well maintained in the period of the building. Room was big and views fantastic, had corner room so had 2 windows. Bed was very comfortable. Lovely quiet location not far from the motor way. The host was fantastic and went out of his way provide anything you wanted. We had 2 light plates of food at night, a nice table was arranged for us and it was really lovely. Would love to stay there again.

Dinner possibility would have been nice. We had to look for something now which was difficult. In the end found very nice place. Be aware: dinner starts after 8pm!

Stunning 18th century property with many original features. Had mini suite with very large bed very comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Chose it because we have 3 small dogs and were welcomed. No restaurant in the evening but provided salads which were excellent washed down with local wine. Let us use side room for meals so we could have the dogs with us

A very old property with lots of quirky and unique touches. Friendly staff who could understand my dodgy Spanish. Nice selection at breakfast but no restaurant (which is advertised). A nice restaurant a few minutes walk away in Briñas. Parking is on street but free.

Beautiful old hotel. Clean, comfy and felt a little luxurious at an affordable price. AC in the room. Great breakfasts and friendly staff. Very quiet village.

A little far from the main town of Haro but if you have a car it's not a problem as it's a short drive. Alternatively there is a 1hr riverside walk into town. Limited view from my bedroom.

It was like a home away from home. There was a big comfortable lounge area to relax in and an outside area by the pool. The rooms were spacious light & airy. The staff were friendly and obliging. There was plenty of free parking outside. Our grandson loved the little rocking horse. We would definitely stay again.

This slightly quirky hotel is in a spacious old nobleman's house (not a palace as described!) in the very attractive village of Briñas, which is full of interesting old houses and has two bars and two or three restaurants within easy walking distance. There are nice walks along the banks of the river Ebro, perfect for those travelling with a dog. There is a lift, and our room was large and well appointed with air conditioning, a comfortable bed and a good-sized bathroom, all spotlessly clean. The hotel has little outside space, but there is a small gravelled courtyard garden with chairs and tables which makes a comfortable spot for tea or drinks. The public areas are well decorated and furnished, with plenty of provision for the comfort of guests. The staff were all friendly, willing and helpful. The busy town of Haro with a wide selection of restaurants etc. is an easy 15 minutes' drive, but as in much of Spain be prepared for parking difficulties.

Breakfast is very good but the system is archaic. Instead of a self-service buffet arrangement as in most hotels, a member of staff comes to you with a long list of everything available from which you have to select what you want, which is then brought to your table. If you are there for more than one night exactly the same selection is brought every morning unless you remember to change it!
