We were so impressed by our stay here! The staff were wonderful, unfailingly helpful and so friendly. Our room was extremely comfortable, everything spotlessly clean (shower was amazing!). Breakfast was excellent. We brought our car, (there's free off-street parking). Ramales itself is a great spot for hikers, close to caves, rock-climbing and hiking trails, but an hour's drive to Bilbao and Santander for day-trips, 15 minutes to the beaches of Laredo. The surrounding area is beautiful. Highly recommend!

Another lovely stay at Río Asón. Perfect location to explore the beautiful mountains. . Lots of shops, bars, restaurants and walks on the doorstep. Large room, comfy bed, huge and powerful shower. Good choice for breakfast and secure parking behind the hotel. All for nothing if not for the lovely, friendly and professional staff. Thanks all.

Oh the breakfast! It was absolutely wonderful. Fresh pineapple, fresh melon, ricotta cheese, delicious coffee made at the bar, local soba cake, fresh orange juice, really a nice surprise. Everyone was friendly, it was quiet, very central, a good price.

There was no sound insulation. Our neighbours had two screaming babies, which we could hear far too well, and when they took a shower late at night it sounded like a bomb had gone off in our room.

This was our second time staying in Río Asón and honestly our return was only delayed due to Covid. Cannot compliment this hotel enough, rooms were very clean, hand sanitizer & masks a plenty. Since we were last there they've opened a bar & restaurant to the side of the hotel which was handy when one night a storm arrived in! Breakfast was continental style and has a number of options, with fresh orange juice & coffee available also. Great to see some of the same faces (Ana) and we already talked about heading back there the next time we are in Northern Spain! Few new places opened around the town as well which is great to see, walking distance from some prehistoric caves (booking required) as well.

Beautiful hotel in a great location to explore the spectacular area. Secure parking, lovely, large room with a balcony. Very good choice for breakfast and exceptional value. It wouldn't be as good without the lovely staff so thanks to Ana and her team. Looking forward to staying again.

Everything was just perfect. The receptionist is very kind and helpful person. Breakfast is just as you need it and the room is quite spatious and very well equiped. We had an amazing view towards Pico San Vincete- so beautiful.

Hotel is great. Town is quite quiet

Great location for arrival or departure from the Biscay Ports (Santander, Bilbao). Off the beaten track in a nice small town. Very clean and modern with excellent parking for the motorbikes. Next to the Sierra del Hornijo with great scenery and roads to explore.

Very nice hotel obviously recently refurbished, beautiful staircase. Our room was very comfortable and we were lucky enough to have a balcony with a wonderful view of the mountains. The town was small and had a lively atmosphere and was surrounded by mountains. Also handy for Santander ferry.
