Loved the location in the mountains, and had a mountain view from my balcony. An interesting property, formerly a monastery, complete with chapel. There are some easy walks from the property.

Small things. Having chosen the property because of it's quiet location in the mountains, I was disappointed that my room, which was above the bar area, had the sound of music from the bar terrace below. I had envisaged sitting on the balcony with birds serenading me outside, not Musak! But it wasn't too loud. The breakfast selection wasn't a great as I'd experienced elsewhere on this visit to Spain, but was acceptable.

The property is set in a beautiful location, there are walks to beautiful views from right outside (15/20 mins max). The Cafe bar is a great spot with very good options and value for money, it is typically Spanish - ignore comments saying it’s like a canteen, it’s like a lot of Spain and just what you want. The restaurant food was superb, extremely good value and well presented, it would be worth a visit just for a meal. The local area is beautiful and you can be in Totana or the lovely village of ALEDO in 10 mins. The main Sierra Espuna park is also only a short drive. Staff were very friendly and helpful in all of the above. This is an ideal stay for walkers/cyclists or those that love peace and quiet and mountains views.

There was nothing we didn’t like, I can understand that some people see it and judge it against a Barcelo etc - you have to remember this is a very old building and connected to the still open church so don’t expect perfection.

Location absolutely beautiful and peaceful lovely restaurant with gourmet food and very dog friendly. Our second time here and we will be back soon. Thanks.

Café shuts on Mondays so no coffee and tostada for breakfast restaurant was open but didn't want a full breakfast. Even an option for just a coffee and tostada or croisant Monday morning would be good. Also on the balcony my dog could fit through one of the holes in the dividing wall between the other rooms balconies and so got onto the other balconies. Could you cover these design holes ?.

Beautiful hotel, lovely location, clean and comfortable. Friendly, helpful staff. Walks around the hotel are good, and it was so peaceful. Would definitely stay here again. Pool is a great addition. Breakfast was great. Plenty of choice, more continental which suited us. The evening meal was good, not a big choice but good value 24 euros for a 3 course meal. Martins bar is great, a good choice of drinks, tapas and toasties etc.

Would have loved a kettle in the room. To sit on our terrace with a nice cuppa in the morning before everything opened would have been great. You really do need a car. We didn't as we had come as a surprise visit for a friend's 60th birthday, only stayed for a few days. So for getting around you need transport as you are up in the mountains. We knew this, so it wasn't a problem for us.

The old covent is situated in a beautiful pine forest with mountain views. It's quiet, with the exception of the church bell which rings (be sure to ask for a room away from it). The breakfast buffet was lovely. They have a gym and pool. They are dog friendly with a small fee. I liked the place so much, I returned again and stayed 5 days later.

the booking stated pet friendly. We were traveling with our small dog. However in the booking it didn't mention the pet fee. you should make that more transparent.

room was a good size and comfortable. The food in the restaurant was very nice and good value for money. Surroundings were very pleasant and peaceful. Would stay again.

The lack of extras you would expect for a 4 star hotel. Minimum toiletries, eg. only 3 little bottles of shower gel and a small bar of soap, the mini bar consisted of 2 small bottles of water. Apart from towels, that was it.

Superb property and location. Excellent for walking; plenty of trails from the hotel itself. Very fine building and a wonderful balcony room with great views. Unfortunately the pool was not open at the time of our visit. The terrace cafe was good, but closes at 18:00. The restaurant, less so.

The property was let down by the restaurant. Very sterile and overlit, with no atmosphere and bad piped music on a loop. The food was OK but generally uninteresting. As far as we could see, there was only one very hard-worked member of staff covering the whole large area. Also, there does not appear to be anywhere to sit for pre- or after-dinner drinks.

Very spacious room , comfortable and big bed , nice balkony with beautiful view. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very calm surroundings. Good breakfast and coffee. Good base for trekking in the Sierra de Espuna. We would definitly come again.

It's complaining at a high level: The restaurant is more like a canteen. Not really comfy and with several people it's very loud. You can't park in front of the door but a trolley for the luggage is available. Room service not every day, but otherwise very clean.

Very pet friendly and lovely evening meal on the terrace overlooking the mountains. Comfortable bed and room, central aircon kept the room at a comfortable temperature. Reasonably priced drinks and lovely outdoors seating areas, including a small swimming pool. Beautiful surroundings with great walks for the dog. Will definitely stay again.

Balcony was great size but the dividing walls between other rooms balconies had the design where a medium sized dog could go through a gap to access the other balconies. so not animal secure balcony. Shower had a few problems but staff were keen to please to resolve issues.

This was an outstanding location and one of peace and tranquillity. Set in the most beautiful mountains and the whole place has a sense of calm. The rooms were well equipped and the beds the biggest I have ever seen!! There are lovely outdoor spaces, outdoor dining and a small but lovely pool area. The food was very nice and very reasonable. A well stocked bar and the breakfast was also very good indeed. Very nice staff too and the buildings were immaculate.

Loved it all - we chose the location for a cycling holiday and it couldn't have been better. The whole area is fabulous for walking, cycling or just a peaceful retreat.
