Excellent stay, perfect location, very neat room, very comfortable beds and mind blowing views from the balcony. The photos in the website don’t do justice to this hotel at all. I had very low expectations from the photos but the property is way way better than the photos. We really loved our stay here. It was very cozy and comfy. If you are self driving then this hotel is the perfect location as it falls right at the start of the town and thus you don’t have to navigate the narrow alleys of the town itself to reach the hotel. The property has ample free parking. The view from the balcony was amazing. Breakfast was basic but enough for us. If we go back to Zahara De La Sierra, I would stay here again.

We booked this hotel at the last minute and found it to be one of our favorites of our two week trip. Fantastic on site restaurant and hosts. If you plan to eat there - check days they are open. Beautifully designed room with a lovely balcony and large bathroom with shower and tub. The hotel also has outdoor seating overlooking the reservoir. We enjoyed walking right down the street to a beautiful historic mirador to watch the sun set. Nice free parking in front.

We sleep very cold and couldn’t get the room cold enough and couldn’t open the windows because of bright lights. This wouldn’t stop us from staying again at all.

We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay at Al Lago. Stephan, Mona and the staff were very helpful and obliging. Our room was comfortable. We had dinner at the restaurant and it didn’t disappoint, very good food and wonderful service. The breakfast included in the price was great too. Location was good and we were easily able to park our car in front of the hotel.

Location is everything ! Al Lago was very easy to find and had superb views of the lakes and mountains. There was plentiful parking close to the hotel which is not always the case in small villages in Andalucia!

The only downside is the walk into the rest of Zahara- it is very steep - however it does mean it is downhill on the return to the hotel!

Excellent breakfast and the restaurant at the hotel for dinner was amazing! Best fish dish I have had in ages. The room was very clean and extra large bed was great. Older building refurbished over the years but perfectly comfortable. The owners were lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

There was instant coffee in the room. But we we just popped down asking for real coffee and they happily brought it to our room. Great service and people. That was actually better than having a coffee maker in our room.

The hotel is ideally situated at the foot of the town. Easy to find and easy to park. Apartment was immaculately clean. Very warm welcome from hosts Mona and Stefan. Evening meals on the terrace were a highlight. Lovely range of choices and every dish of a high quality. Lots of great walks on the doorstep and a great range of wildlife. watch out for the vultures!

The room with the view of the lake. What else can we ask for? The spacious bathroom (a liquid soap for hair and body provided) and room. The excellent customer service. The breakfast was also excellent and the hotel's restaurant is highly recommended. Very quite neighborhood - village. VERY easy access to the hotel with a huge parking space. We had a quiet and comfortable stay at Al Lago! PS: for cat lovers, there is one friendly kitten, waiting for you to play! : )

Superb setting, spacious room and bathroom, very comfortable and huge bed, and a great breakfast. The area has breathtaking scenery with Zahara itself being lovely, as were Grazelema and Olvera. Mona is a very welcoming and knowledgeable host. I would definitely stay here again.

All part of the charm, but the steep climb into the centre of Zahara requires good calves and strong lungs.

Lovely friendly staff. Room was spacious and nicely furnished and had a view of the lake and the bathroom was great. Good communication from the hotel ahead of our stay. Easy parking in front of the hotel. Great restaurant and tasty breakfast.

Small communal patio area for relaxing outside of the room could do with a bit of love or attention. Restaurant staff smoking spot was just underneath our bathroom window.

Ambience created by our hosts and their staff who did everything they could to make our stay memorable. Location is excellent and food was extremely tasty and beautifully presented. Great place and great people and somewhere we would love to return to.
