The view from the room is magnificent and the balcony is perfect for a relaxed breakfast The bed is very comfortable Moreover the property is 5 mins from the center

A bit noisy as it’s directly on the road, so at night it might be a bit hard to sleep knowing that the bed is very comfortable Ask about ur breakfast type especially the eggs as they do it the Siri Lankan way which u might not like it

Absolutely loved our stay here! The balcony, the views, the crew, the breakfast they serve on the balcony (what a treat), the comfortable bed, the hot shower - everything was perfect! Super spacious beautiful rooms, and there is a shortcut to Ella town, which means it’s only a 5 min walk. They also took care of booking our taxi from Kandy which was very well organised, and they made restaurant reservations for us. Thank you so much amazing Country Homes team - we wish we could have stayed longer!

Maybe only the noise from the street, but it didn’t bother us at all and we had such a great night’s sleep! We would book again in a heartbeat!

- Cool cabin / chalet style room with lovely views of Ella! - 450m walk to Ella town - which is great if you wanted close proximity to restaurants etc. - The family who live on the property were extremely kind and helpful and gave some great tips for Ella. - Good space for parking.

- Signage for the property could be improved as we initially drove past it and couldn’t find it. - There is a 3.5% surcharge for paying by credit card (we was more than happy to pay this but just commenting as a warning to other travellers). - Lots of steps to get up to the room, which might problematic for older travellers, those with young children or dodgy knees.

So many reasons as to why we liked it here. The location is sooo good - literally a 5 min walk up the hill and youre in the centre of Ella town. The staff are the kindest people you will ever meet, helping carry our extra large suitcases up the steep steps, bringing wonderful breakfasts to our door, and always checking in with us to see if they could help. Even on one day, when a monkey stole my pancake from my breakfast, the staff brought up another one without me asking - it was super kind! Oh and the view is out of this world. So thankful to have stayed here. Thank you Country Homes!

The room was a great size, and had a particularly comfortable sofa, which is a rarity, but so appreciated in a hotel room- good to have a comfortable place to sit. The view is good - of Ella Rock, but with a little extra tree pruning, it could be a phenomenal view through Ella gap and including little Adam’s peak Breakfast is delivered to your room at whatever time you request

While the location is excellent in many ways, the walk to town is short but not pleasant as the road has no sidewalk space and is very busy with trucks, buses, motorbikes and tuk tuks so feels very treacherous- this is not something that Country Homes can control, but it is something to keep in mind

The service/hospitality was really good: we got offered a welcome drinks and they carried our bag for us and helped us get a tuk tuk on the day we left and had very helpful laundry service. The view from the room was just amazing, we could see lots of little birds, squirrels and monkeys. Breakfast is also served on the balcony and they always bring it perfectly at the asked for time.

The shower floor is very slippery and can be dangerous, so definitely something to be mindful of when stepping in. It did not bother us as we walked every nights to town, but the hotel is located 10 minutes away from the restaurants in Ella Town and the road does not have a footpath to walk on.

Great place to relax and recharge. The room was fantastic and exactly as shown in photos. We felt safe and the communication with the staff was speedy. The working boys helped us with our bags and settling in and were helpful with the breakfast and in showing us around. We met the owner when we signed out and she was kind.

It was not the easiest place to find. Blink and you'll miss the entrance. That is my only negative but it's not exactly something they can change easily. Ella is a small strip of businesses and so everything is tightly packed together. Just something to be aware of for travellers! And maybe a bigger sign is needed

This was the best accommodation during my trip to Sri Lanka! The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and incredibly comfortable. The staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. The highlight for me was the stunning balcony, offering a peaceful and relaxing spot to unwind. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to everyone. If I ever return to Sri Lanka, I will definitely stay here again.

The location is perfect, walking distance of the city centre of Ella where you can find all the shops, restaurants and bars. The breakfast prepared was delicious. We could enjoy watching the monkeys jump around. The staff was extremely helpful and welcoming, did everything to make our stay comfortable.

If you live in a city center, this won't be a problem but, being light sleepers, we could hear the trucks and vehicles honking and passing by the main street.

The stay was only 400m away from the Ella town and it was very good for the price. Had a balcony with a nice view of the mountain range & Breakfast was more than we expected. Bed was comfy and timber paneled interior of the cabana gave a nice feeling.

Finding the location from the Google map was bit difficult and had to call the staff to get the direction.
