Review for Fox Jaffna Hotel I recently had the pleasure of staying at Fox Jaffna, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment I arrived, the warm hospitality of the staff made me feel right at home. The property itself is beautifully designed, blending traditional Jaffna heritage with modern luxury. The rooms were impeccably clean, spacious, and well-equipped with all the amenities one could need for a comfortable stay. I particularly enjoyed the serene ambiance of the hotel, which is perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The food was another highlight of my stay. The authentic Jaffna cuisine served at the restaurant was bursting with flavor and prepared with great care. Every meal felt like a culinary journey into the heart of the region. The hotel also has a lovely garden area and art collection, which added to the charm.

Great facilities and location in Kokuvil, not too far from the town. The only hotel with its own swimm. The breakfast and dinner dinner and service was excellent

Sunday Morning they hire out facilities to outside guests for photoshoots which you’re not warned about

The swimming pool is well kept and clean, though a flock of pigeons was bathing in it at some point during our stay. The room was very clean. The staff was okay with us giving our leftover food to stray cats and dogs which should be encouraged (less food waste and caring for the animals). When we needed an iron, we called reception and they got us an iron and an ironing board right away. The staff were attentive and quick to help.

The bathroom could use with some maintenance, as the walls look like they need some updating. It's also a shame that we couldn't get more TV channels to work, as it said the channels would need to be paid for. The walls are a little thin. We could hear the people in the neighbouring room talk and the child cry. Otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will come back.

This is an oasis in the middle of the city. From a busy road you enter a lush garden. Rooms are beautiful, beds are extremely comfortable. Pool area is also beautiful.

Breakfast was lacking we thought, but then we are Europeans and Jaffna is not yet a tourist town. Perhaps Sri Lankans would judge it different. There were a lot of Sri Lankan dishes, but not many western dishes and no eggs (except for the egg curry). But my biggest issue is the drivers quarters. This is a pretty pricey hotel and the facilities are very nice except for where our drive stayed. A large room on the 3rd floor that he shared with about 15 men. The washroom was on the bottom floor. There have been much better drivers quarters at hotels that cost much less than this one. It's important that drivers get a good nights sleep because the next day they will be navigating the roads. This is a safety issue.

Excellent location in Jaffna city to explore the area. Walled entrance disguised the beautiful building and gardens hidden behind it. The swimming pool was great, open until late and in a great setting. Rooms were clean, modern and well equipped in small blocks set around the gardens. Breakfast and dinner all served, mainly buffet style in a restaurant building overlooking the gardens and pool. The staff everywhere were attentive and helpful, particularly in the restaurant. Hard to find fault anywhere. We enjoyed our stay, would fully endorse and stay again

Nothing of much concern here. One evening the restaurant seemed surprised at a large groups arrival and there was no buffet left for us. Hard to match supply to demand I’m sure and we ate off the main menu anyway so no real problem.

The breakfast was great. Although there wasn't always a buffet available at the time we went due to the number of guest, everything was freshly made and cooked to order at no extra cost at our request, so this was not an issue. The staff were attentive and welcoming and extremely helpful in organising excursions for us. Special shoutout to Shane, Sujee and Amit. Amazingly helpful.

Would have liked a slightly bigger selection at the bar but not a major problem.

The staff is amazing. Kind, welcoming, great food, accommodating special needs, wonderful. It is hard to get a reservation for a reason!! Great pool and ambiance.

They had to cancel our room for renovations because of the rain the day before. We were really sad, but they gave us a buffet for free for a party of fifteen and allowed us to use the pool!! Some compensation!! And they were so welcoming to us (return visit) and our guests.

The design and layout of the hotel was good, the pool was nice, and the rooms were comfortable. The staff were exceptionally helpful. The restaurant was good and had an A la carte menu and a good variety though the buffet seemed the same each day for breakfast. What was very interesting was the bunkers below which had been turned into an art gallery.

The pool was a bit small for the price of the property, and there was no communal area/lounge area to hang out.

The service was outstanding! A very special thank you goes to Shane from the front office and Amid from the restaurant, who understand the word service as a passion and make all wishes come true. The entire complex is an oasis of well-being. It's also nice that the history of the house and the region are presented in an exhibition in the bunker. The exhibition of local artists in the bunker and throughout the hotel is also worth seeing.

This place is literally an island of peace and refinement. Staff at the reception is polite and efficient. The layout, garden, and pool are elegant. Rooms are big and with all amenities you might expect from a 5 star hotel. The restaurant deserves a special mention for the quality of the food and the attentive and kind service. A very well managed hotel, and one we would return to without hesitations.
