Paradise. The location is magnificent. It’s true that it’s pricey and a few things need attention, but management is fantastic and aware. Staff are really lovely. The beach is phenomenal and rooms very comfortable. In comparison to what you get for what you pay in Pasikuda it’s worth it. Loved how exclusive it felt. We didn’t want to leave.

My one gripe and is how they charge for food and drinks. Prices are quoted in US$, converted to rupees when you sign, then converted back to US$ when you pay. Plus an extra 30% added on in taxes and service. Nowhere else in Sri Lanka we were did this, and it’s hard to see it as anything other than exploitative. 10% service is pretty standard, but the bill ends up being a third more and I think this should be made clear.

Amazing invaluable grounds, friendly and adorable staff, very good quality food, spacious and luxurious beach huts.

Owners could help the local community and the tourists by investing in the road leading up to the property which is long and extremely bumpy. Restaurant organisation needs some fine tuning (experienced staff?) but I’m sure it will get better over the season.

A real oasis on our recent Sri lankan 3 week visit. We made some bad accommodation choices on this trip – believing the trip or google reviews and ending up in some disappointing places. Not this hotel though – we loved everything about it. The ‘tent’ rooms were beautifully finished and furnished, comfortable bed, great showers and services/wifi etc. The food in the restaurant was excellent and very well-priced for the quality. A lovely beach, illuminated palm trees, great poolside bar and lounge…. Very good value for money also. The manager, Umberto, went above and beyond and seems to be on top of all the details of customer service and the logistics of a higher-end place like this. We would highly recommend a few days at this place to unwind and to laze, eat and drink fabulously, away for a few days from the general chaos of other parts of Sri Lanka.

The pool area needs updating. The sun loungers are old and dirty. Some are broken too. This wasn’t appealing to the eye.

This hotel had everything we needed for a week of total relaxation. The hotel is quite remote, which actually made it easier for us to take full advantage of everything it had to offer. We were so kindly upgraded to the Seed suite which was perfect as we were traveling with young children. The tent was unbelievable. Comfortable and luxurious. The massages are amazing too. The food though, out of this world. I made sure to try something different every day. So fresh! The staff were unbelievably friendly. From Umberto the manager who was a fabulous host, to Jude and the barman who were so kind to our kids. Jude even rode into town to get our 1 year a little dolly to play with. The barman (sorry we forgot his name 😬) spoilt our kids with ice creams and also my husband and I the most unreal cocktails (especially the Icy J&R). We also used the transport which the hotel can provide and it was very comfortable, even for a long drive. I could go on about how amazing this place is, but I think we’ll just have to go back again!

There’s not much to say, apart from the wifi which was a bit hit and miss. Breakfast could be a little chaotic with the staff but it was still good. Also, it’s a distant from any little towns. Which wasn’t as issue for us though.

It’s the ideal setting for those who want to relax and unwind, with a perfect view of the ocean. The service at Karpaha Sands is exceptional from start to finish. General Manager Umberto truly stands out for his warmth and hospitality, ensuring that every guest feels welcomed and valued. A special mention goes to my butler, Namal, who provided an unmatched level of service. His attention to detail, calm demeanor, and thoughtful approach were incredible. He went out of his way to ensure that I was comfortable and well taken care of throughout my stay. His dedication and professionalism made my time at Karpaha Sands truly memorable. The resort offers an exceptional culinary experience, with a diverse range of local and international dishes, all made from the freshest ingredients. Whether I was enjoying a beautifully prepared seafood dish or a flavorful Sri Lankan meal, each meal was a treat, especially when paired with breathtaking views of the ocean. Karpaha Sands is a perfect getaway to relax and unwind, indulging in luxury, peace, and extraordinary service. From the stunning beach to the luxurious suites, outstanding service, and delicious dining, every aspect of this resort is designed to offer an unforgettable experience. Stunning place - a true spot in paradise. Enormous pool with nice lounge music located right next to the bar and lounge area. Spectacular views of beach and sea. Great villas/tenthouses. We had our own spot on the beach with amazing views of beach and sea. Very spacious rooms, we stayed 2 adults and 2 children (5 and 7) in a palam suite, with an extra bed for one child and a sofa bed for the other. Plenty of space for us. Great food - but everything is pricey compared to other places in Sri Lanka, however, also luxurious. Breakfast was generous and very good. Good activities also, we did the cinema under the stars and the children loved it. The place itself is beautiful, the beach is beautiful, the sea is calm and clear waters. You could see the local fishermen at the beach in mornings and afternoons.

Generally, the service in the restaurant was slow and a bit messy. A lot of things got lost in translation or mixed up. Breakfast with 2 smaller children can be a bit challenging when waiting and waiting for the food (and to be honest, Coco pops should be fairly easy to serve quickly). A.lot of birds around the restaurant, you couldn't leave the table for just 5 seconds without a bird being there to take food.

Absolutely amazing place. Stunning location, far from any civilisation. Only sounds of nature around. Beautiful, several kms long beach. Extremely tastefully designed - elegant yet not flashy. Impeccable service at all levels, delivered by genuinely friendly people. One of us caught an infection and the GM personally made all the medical arrangements, at their expense. All in all 100% recommended for all who enjoy classy luxury amidst stunning nature. All that at a cost of a 3* stay in peak season Mediterranean.

One would really have to nit pick to find any issues. Some 5am birds are quite loud - a nice problem to have :-)

I discovered this hotel through Instagram and was initially skeptical, as photos can sometimes be misleading. However, after reading several positive reviews, I decided to take a chance and booked us for a two-night stay at the Palam Suites. Despite being pregnant and facing a six-hour drive from Colombo, we took the plunge, and I'm so glad we did. The drive was long, but the moment we arrived, we knew it was worth it. The view and location were stunning, and the hotel's commitment to sustainability and the glamping concept was impressive. The beach is right outside your suite, making it a perfect getaway. We wanted to extend our stay, but the hotel was fully booked, which speaks volumes about its popularity. From the manager to our butler, Nirfas, everyone ensured our every request was met. We would definitely return again.
