Our stay at Mangrove Beach Cabanas in Tangalle, Sri Lanka, was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm smiles and genuine hospitality that made us feel right at home. The natural beauty of the location, coupled with the exceptional service provided by the staff, created an unforgettable experience that we will cherish forever. Location and Ambiance: Nestled amidst lush mangroves and right on the pristine beach, Mangrove Beach Cabanas offers a perfect blend of tranquility and luxury. The cabanas are beautifully designed, merging seamlessly with the surrounding nature, and offer stunning views of the ocean. Waking up to the sound of waves and birds was a dream come true. The peaceful atmosphere made it an ideal escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Accommodation: The cabanas are spacious, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. Every detail, from the cozy bedding to the well-appointed bathroom, was designed with comfort and relaxation in mind. Dining: The food at Mangrove Beach Cabanas was simply outstanding. Every meal was a culinary delight, made with fresh, local ingredients and bursting with flavor. The seafood, in particular, was exceptional. Dining under the stars on the beach, with the sound of the waves as a backdrop, was an experience that we will never forget. The Sri Lankan breakfast was also a highlight, offering a variety of delicious options to start the day right. Exceptional Service: While everything about Mangrove Beach Cabanas was perfect, what truly set this place apart was the incredible service provided by the staff. A special mention must go to Laxman and Menik, who went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was perfect in every way. Laxman’s attention to detail and his warm, friendly demeanor made me feel like a valued guest, not just a customer. He was always available to assist with anything we needed. Menik, on the other hand, added a personal touch to our experience.

For us Mangrove Beach Cabanas was the perfect place for our first days in Sri Lanka We loved  the cabanas with the pretty stylish bathroom below the cabana, the endless lonely beaches, the sound of the birds in the morning and the magic of fireflies in the palm trees at night  The accomodation was great but it was the staff who Made this place unique. Manik was a perfect host, always smiling, anticipating all our wishes and with a good sense of humor, Dilah prepared great meals (try the rice & curry) and we got many useful advices by Tharindu and others from the team. 10 points from us for the accomodation, 12 points for the staff. We came as guests and left as friends :-)

That we had to leave after 4 nights :;-)

Everything was great. The breakfast was very tasty, dinner was also delicious. The beach house was clean and comfortable. The stagf was very kind and helpful. We are booking a cortage but we got villa, witch was very nice of the owner. The beach was private and was allowed to rest. It’s wonderful place.

You're right on the beach and it's quiet compared to places closer to town. Food was delicious and staff friendly and hospitable.

WiFi didn't reach our room. We also had a "sloppy" check in. We were shown to the Beach Chalets not the Beach Cabanas so as we were enjoying our welcome drink after a long journey we were told we had to move to the Cabanas. This wasted an hour of our time. We were promised a double beach cabana as a gesture of goodwill but this didn't materialise either. We were too tired to fight it. Staff were apologetic though and these thing happen.

Our stay at Mangrove Beach Cabana's was really wonderful. The accommodation was great, comfortable and clean. We had a cabana with a trap door to a spacious bathroom with lovely shower. The staff were really helpful and friendly and the food was super tasty. We really enjoyed 4 days of peace and quiet on what was a pretty deserted stretch of beautiful coastline. We just wish we were still there! Highly recommended.

The only down side of this place was that you can't swim in the sea due to the strong undercurrent. However there are pools nearby if you really need to swim rather than paddle.

Amazing location first of all, at a magnificent, mostly empty beach. Turtles, some of them absolutely huge, come to lay their eggs right in front of the resort. Just mind blowing. However please make sure you don’t use your flashlight as the animals are very sensitive to light. The rangers at the nearby turtle reserve will gladly take you out to see them and give you a lot of background information at their base. In terms of the resort itself, it has super simple yet beautiful cabanas and a splendid restaurant. The premises are very well kept and super comfortable with hammocks in between palm trees ideal to chill. Certainly one of the best beachside venues we’ve ever been.

Nothing really, but it would be great if clients would be given information on the turtles upon check-in in order to know the do’s and dont’s regarding these precious creatures.

The location is awesome, the beach is empty, the cabanas are cute. I liked the fact that they are open and have just blinds to stop the wind. . Cleaning is offered daily. The restaurant is excellent and the food is super tasty. I loved the sound of the waves and the song of the birds. The boys who work there are doing a great job. If you want a simple place to reconnect with nature, that is your place, it is a bliss! If you prefer comfort, are scared of spiders, lizzards, ants and prefer aircon and glamour to breeze and simplicity, go look somewhere else

Two grudges: 1.The bathroom is in the basement. I had overlooked that fact, not sure it was mentioned. The trap door to it is heavy to lift and the stairs very steep. 2. The ratio value for money is not good. This was the most expensive place we stayed, 3, 4, 5 times more expensive than others that offered better value for money. But if course, you pay for location, and you pay to avoid the crowds, to encourage places like the Cabanas that strive to stay away from ugly concrete that is ruining Sri lankan beaches.

Mangrove beach cabanas are located at huge und quiet Tangalle beach, which is a perfect beach seemingly right out of a commercial. In front of the cabin are just some palm trees, the beach, the ocean. Almost no people as it is the last accommodation before the turtle protection zone. . As you might know by now you cannot swim at Tangalle beach due to strong waves and dangerous undercurrent. That is the reason this big beautiful beach is nearly deserted. If you are fine with that the location is almost perfect. . The cabins are basic but fit well into the environment, food was quite good.

The basement bathrooms with the heavy trapdoor are not very practical, especially if you want to access them at night time.

Exceptional - I only spend a day here but have some great memories as this was one of the most magnificent beaches I've ever visited. With hardly anyone around, you'll have the whole beach to yourself for most of the time. During the evenings and night time, not a huge deal to do but sky lights up giving you a great view of the stars! Definitely one of the main highlights of my entire trip. It is a piece of paradise. Stunning location, beautiful cabanas and a very friendly staff team made this an unforgettable stay.

I suppose the only negative point is that, there is not a huge amount of infrastructure in the area as Tangalle itself is a little far - so make sure you stock up a little before getting here.

It is definitely the location - amazing beach, only a hand full of people. One of the nicest places we have seen in Sri Lanka so far. The cabanas are nothing special but absolutely ok - we stayed for three nights and loved to hear the waves during the night. The restaurant offers a very good variety of fish including catch of the day - good value for money.

The bathroom which is in the basement of the cabana needs some upgrade. Sun beds need some cleaning. They charge 3 percent for paying with credit card. You can save money if booking closer to arrival.
