Staying in a cabana on a beautiful beach was a dream that came true. Simple place but who needs more in such a location? Walking towards the rising sun, watching a mama turtle making her way back to the ocean after laying eggs, playing with the waves… it was perfect! Even the mongoose who sneaked in at night looking for my lunch takeaway was part of the adventure of being surrounded by nature.

All good; be aware that if you want the Sri Lankan breakfast you need to order it the day before, something the staff forgot to mention. The currents are quite strong so this is not suitable for swimming.

Loved the beautiful beach which was not crowded at all, although it was high season. From our bed we could see straight to the beach. Could hear the waves. Loved the double day bed in front of the cottage.

This place could use some care and attention; the signs of wear and tear are starting to show. Bedding/Linen, algae on the pebble stones in the shower, bath mats were not clean. We stayed at 7 guesthouses throughout Sri Lanka for the last 16 days, the breakfast at Cabbana was the smallest.

Mangrove Beach Cabana is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. A beachfront cabin surrounded by palm trees creates an incredible atmosphere of peace and harmony with nature. The only sound accompanying my stay was the soothing waves of the Indian Ocean. The cabin is luxuriously equipped, providing the highest level of comfort. One of the highlights was the delicious breakfasts served directly on the beach – enjoying a meal with such a breathtaking view was an unforgettable experience. Every moment here was special, filled with relaxation and wonderful memories. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for tranquility, serenity, and a perfect connection with nature in a truly exclusive setting! 🌴🌊✨

Our stay at Mangrove Beach Cabanas in Tangalle, Sri Lanka, was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm smiles and genuine hospitality that made us feel right at home. The natural beauty of the location, coupled with the exceptional service provided by the staff, created an unforgettable experience that we will cherish forever. Location and Ambiance: Nestled amidst lush mangroves and right on the pristine beach, Mangrove Beach Cabanas offers a perfect blend of tranquility and luxury. The cabanas are beautifully designed, merging seamlessly with the surrounding nature, and offer stunning views of the ocean. Waking up to the sound of waves and birds was a dream come true. The peaceful atmosphere made it an ideal escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Accommodation: The cabanas are spacious, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. Every detail, from the cozy bedding to the well-appointed bathroom, was designed with comfort and relaxation in mind. Dining: The food at Mangrove Beach Cabanas was simply outstanding. Every meal was a culinary delight, made with fresh, local ingredients and bursting with flavor. The seafood, in particular, was exceptional. Dining under the stars on the beach, with the sound of the waves as a backdrop, was an experience that we will never forget. The Sri Lankan breakfast was also a highlight, offering a variety of delicious options to start the day right. Exceptional Service: While everything about Mangrove Beach Cabanas was perfect, what truly set this place apart was the incredible service provided by the staff. A special mention must go to Laxman and Menik, who went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was perfect in every way. Laxman’s attention to detail and his warm, friendly demeanor made me feel like a valued guest, not just a customer. He was always available to assist with anything we needed. Menik, on the other hand, added a personal touch to our experience.

For us Mangrove Beach Cabanas was the perfect place for our first days in Sri Lanka We loved  the cabanas with the pretty stylish bathroom below the cabana, the endless lonely beaches, the sound of the birds in the morning and the magic of fireflies in the palm trees at night  The accomodation was great but it was the staff who Made this place unique. Manik was a perfect host, always smiling, anticipating all our wishes and with a good sense of humor, Dilah prepared great meals (try the rice & curry) and we got many useful advices by Tharindu and others from the team. 10 points from us for the accomodation, 12 points for the staff. We came as guests and left as friends :-)

That we had to leave after 4 nights :;-)

Location, location,location …. Weather dependent of course but the combination of sunshine, pounding waves, an endless, virtually deserted, beach six steps from the door of your own coconut-thatched, hardwood cabin, with its ‘seashells and steeping stones’ outdoor bathroom is pretty hard to beat ..for us anyway.

Just A few details - tatty toilet seat in our cabin - needs replacing Some sun loungers need replacing But that didn’t really spoil anything

Everything was great. The breakfast was very tasty, dinner was also delicious. The beach house was clean and comfortable. The stagf was very kind and helpful. We are booking a cortage but we got villa, witch was very nice of the owner. The beach was private and was allowed to rest. It’s wonderful place.

You're right on the beach and it's quiet compared to places closer to town. Food was delicious and staff friendly and hospitable.

WiFi didn't reach our room. We also had a "sloppy" check in. We were shown to the Beach Chalets not the Beach Cabanas so as we were enjoying our welcome drink after a long journey we were told we had to move to the Cabanas. This wasted an hour of our time. We were promised a double beach cabana as a gesture of goodwill but this didn't materialise either. We were too tired to fight it. Staff were apologetic though and these thing happen.

Our stay at Mangrove Beach Cabana's was really wonderful. The accommodation was great, comfortable and clean. We had a cabana with a trap door to a spacious bathroom with lovely shower. The staff were really helpful and friendly and the food was super tasty. We really enjoyed 4 days of peace and quiet on what was a pretty deserted stretch of beautiful coastline. We just wish we were still there! Highly recommended.

The only down side of this place was that you can't swim in the sea due to the strong undercurrent. However there are pools nearby if you really need to swim rather than paddle.

Amazing location first of all, at a magnificent, mostly empty beach. Turtles, some of them absolutely huge, come to lay their eggs right in front of the resort. Just mind blowing. However please make sure you don’t use your flashlight as the animals are very sensitive to light. The rangers at the nearby turtle reserve will gladly take you out to see them and give you a lot of background information at their base. In terms of the resort itself, it has super simple yet beautiful cabanas and a splendid restaurant. The premises are very well kept and super comfortable with hammocks in between palm trees ideal to chill. Certainly one of the best beachside venues we’ve ever been.

Nothing really, but it would be great if clients would be given information on the turtles upon check-in in order to know the do’s and dont’s regarding these precious creatures.
