Really nice, simple resort. Great food, helpful staff, nice pool and just by the beach.

As a western woman I do not appreciate male staff asking my number or instagram. In western countries that is considered creepy and you could lose your job. This happened once and I hope you educate your staff, so that also women visitors feel safe and comfortable. Also my room smelled like poop from time to time, I think something with pipes. Staff came to cover the smell with some spray so that was ok for my one night stay.

Location was great. Gate from the garden to the beach. Room 301 was lovely (stairs only at the hotel) with a balcony with an amazing view. Comfy bed and pillows, clean and spacious. Brilliant staff who are always helpful and worked hard to make the guests stay enjoyable. Nice garden and a great pool which looks at over the sea. Very good food and you can eat in the garden on the edge of the beach and watch the sun set with a cocktail or two. Hard to leave!

Only one suggestion for property to consider frosted glass between bathroom and bedroom or partial frosting - not used to seeing each other on the loo! But we worked around it and not a major issue. No other suggestions - we were very happy with our stay and the facilities.

We liked the hotel; it was quiet and had beautiful beaches nearby. The staff was incredibly nice. The rooms and bathrooms were very spacious and always very clean.The bedding and beds were very comfortable. With a few small improvements, the hotel would deserve a 4-star rating.

What we didn't like about the hotel: the rooms were noisy on some days, the area in front of the hotel was dirty, and there weren’t many places to eat or bars nearby. You have to take a tuk-tuk for 10 to 15 minutes to reach a livelier area. Well, I believe it's not the hotel's fault; it's more about the area. The hotel's front area doesn’t feel very welcoming at first, but once you get inside, it’s a different experience.

The resort’s restaurant is fantastic, offering delicious meals with fresh ingredients and a wonderful variety of options. What truly sets this place apart is the incredible staff. Tomas and the entire team were warm, welcoming, and always greeted us with smiles and kindness, making us feel at home. Their hospitality made our stay even more special. Our rooms were spacious, immaculately clean, and incredibly comfortable, with cozy beds and plenty of space to unwind. And did I mention the view? It was breathtaking every single time we looked out! One of the best things about Niomi Beach Resort is its peaceful location on a quiet beach—something that can be hard to find in Sri Lanka, where many hotels are near busy roads. Here, all you hear are the waves, making it the perfect escape. If you’re looking for a serene, beautiful, and truly special place to stay, I highly recommend Niomi Beach Resort. We can’t wait to come back!

We really enjoyed our stay at Naomi. We’re actually going back again in a few weeks to end our Sri Lanka trip. Lovely views, (from all rooms) pretty newly renovated and spacious bright rooms. Great pool. Good breakfast and restaurant. Very relaxing. Good surf out the front and picturesque secluded beaches (although not the best for swimming) One of the few little villages off the main road so no noise from traffic. Just the sound of the ocean and the occasional cow mooing on the grass verge outside the hotel.

A few things in the room were not updated.

After travelling around Sri Lanka for 3 weeks, this was one of our favourite places we stayed. I honestly couldn't believe somewhere this amazing was this affordably priced! The hotel is right on a beautiful quiet beach, with sea facing views from all rooms which is amazing to wake up to. The pool is lovely and clean and much bigger than it looks in photos. The food from the restaurant, Catch99, is some of the best food we've had in Sri Lanka. The menu has Japanese inspiration and the chef is a *delight*. As it's a small hotel it's very quiet and peaceful, there's no fighting for sun loungers by the pool as there's enough for the guests and it's generally a very tranquil vibe

The only thing to note is that the hotel says it's adults only but there were some children at the restaurant (which I assume is open to non hotel guests)

Just loved our stay at Naomi, it was our last stay in Sri Lanka and it exceeded our expectations and was a wonderful way to end the holiday. Staff was extremely friendly and warm, especially Ram at reception and Kamini at the bar, who made us delicious cocktails. The rooms are gorgeous and have the BEST view, we slept and woke up with the sounds of calming ocean waves. The location is just brilliant - the pool is gorgeous, with the private access to the beach also if one would like to take a walk or even a dip. There are a couple of cute shacks on the beach and even around the property - lovely local joints if one wants other options apart from hotel restaurant - which was also quite lovely. The staff were prompt with any help we needed, including getting us a taxi out from Weligama.

This hotel has an unbeatable location—just steps from the ocean, with stunning views and the sound of waves all day long. The restaurant is fantastic, serving delicious food, and the pool is perfect for relaxing. The staff is super friendly and always ready to help.

The only minor downside is that some areas could use a bit of renovation, likely due to the humidity rather than age. But overall, it’s a great place to stay if you want to be right by the beach with great service and amenities!

The rooms are very spacious and clean, the view from the porch was stunning. The breakfast was nice and lunch was delicious. The staff were super helpful and always checking in to make sure we are ok.

The outside of the hotel is a little off-putting (building and hallways) but once inside you completely forget about it, although for what they charge a night I think it should be addressed. My partner was gluten free and there were no real bread alternatives for her at breakfast. Many other places we stayed at in Sri Lanka were more flexible providing alternatives as there are many local GF options such as hoppers, rice flour and kurakan flour.

Nice location beach front hotel. Friendly staff. Nice swimmingpool area and room with balcony and ocean view. Clean and quiet. Loved sleeping with the balcony windows open and the sea breeze and the sound of the ocean.

Breakfast was average and very small portions. Kept asking for more bread more honey more jam more.... For this reason we did not dine at the hotel restaurant which was very expensive compared to typical sri lankan restaurants in the area. Shiran just 100m from the hotel is a very good option for a good price quality local food. Also there are no sunshades by the pool. The beach is for surfers not good for swimming. It Is also too short for good walks and with just a couple of spots to seek protection from the sun under palm trees.
