The breakfast was excellent. The location in Swedish countryside beautiful and very intriguing Generally speaking the hotel, that we chose from Athens, without any information in advance was a very nice surprise! The staff friendly and competent, providing us with all information about the place Collected local antiquities, by the hotel owners, gave a very special atmosphere to the Hotel

Gorgeous unique style of hotel. The town is quiet however, I loved this so much. If I ever visit Sälen again, I will make sure to stay here :)

I loved the unique decor and the interesting Hagastrom instruments on show.

Well situated and it has parking, it is clean and it has a restaurant.

Genuine and with a style. Very good location - in a centre of nice little town, surrounded by beautiful Nordic nature. Good communication, it was easy to access the hotel late at night (reception was closed then). Kind staff. The room was functional and clean. We would definitely like to come back here during the skiing season.

Breakfast was a little bit boring, limited choice. The ,,warm,, omelette with bacon was not warm at all. Not a big issue tough.

The check in and check out process was quick. The staff was friendly. There is large free parking behind the hotel. There are several common areas in the hotel which are originally decorated with historical musical instruments/local memories. There is a hot tub, if you do not mind that all people passing from the car park to the hotel look at you through a glass wall. Breakfast was adequate for this price range, plus point is fresh pressed orange juice. Internet worked ok.

Our room- I do not know if we got the last room which was not upgraded seeing some positive comments, but I can only judge what I saw. The hotel state on booking that they accept pets, but when we informed them we have a small dog, they rebooked us from the superior double room we booked to a small room with bunker beds - not ideal for a middle aged couple but ok. They charged the superior room rate but they did not charge extra for the dog- so I guess that compensates. Overall it was very expensive for what it was. What I did not find ok was that the room was very shabby. The window pane was cracked and because it was on the ground floor facing the entrance, we had the bench for smokers virtually in front of our window. On 2nd thought it may have been previous guest breaking the window for some fresh air, as the window was bolted shut. The hotel advertises AC but there was definitely none in this room, there was only a hole in the wall an in it black from dust ventilator which did not turn, there was no air movement and the air was stuffy - luckily it was not hot during our stay. There was also black mold in the corners in the bathroom and cleanness could be improved. Shower gel container empty. The furniture and bathroom looked old and worn. Old drill holes and scratches on the walls.
