The hotel was set within well-tended gardens and medieval stone ruins. The hotel itself dates from the 13th century. The furniture was made of lovely old wood and the rooms were quite charming; however, some of the rooms were very small. We were offered a bigger room on the ground floor overlooking the parking lot, but we preferred to have the smaller room with the view of the church on the first floor. Breakfast was simple, but the home-made bread and jams were a delicious treat. Weather permitting, you could enjoy breakfast in the garden area, where there were lots of tables and chairs. Staff were really kind, helpful and friendly. The location is 10/10. You can walk all over Visby from the hotel.

Our room was quite small and we thought very expensive for the size. The bathroom was extremely tiny and the shower wasn't sealed, so water leaked onto the bathroom floor. The rooms are not automatically cleaned daily—you must put out a sign before 11am if you wish to have your room cleaned.

This is probably the best hotel stay I've ever had. The staff is exceptional - they are all so kind and so eager to help in any way they can. It was delightful to connect with them. The hotel is absolutely beautiful - it's a historic building that has been expertly updated without compromising any charm. Each room is decorated to perfection. The breakfast is good, including fresh goodies everyday. It's in the heart of Visby so restaurants and shops are all nearby. And for all you get, the price is shockingly reasonable.

Nothing - best hotel ever!

This is a beautiful boutique hotel, located right in front of a wharf where many of the main ferries departed from. Elegant, stylish sitting room, antiques in the hallways, and our room overlooked the wharf. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier. A very charming place!

The only downside of being on the main road next to the wharf is that on Thursday-Friday-Saturday nights, teenagers in vintage US gas guzzler cars would vroom back and forth down the road with music blaring loud, and honking their horns at each other. Earplugs helped only slightly. This problem would affect any hotel located on this side of the street/wharf.

A lovely, small hotel in a historical building and peaceful location, yet very close to the town centre. The view to the cathedral from our room window was phenomenal. It was great to have possibility to safe private parking with an extra cost. Breakfast was delicious, the staff very attentive and the beds extra comfy. The courtyard was perfect for relaxed moments in privacy. Coffee facilities in the breakfast room were available at all times, which was nice.

The decor of the room was a bit dark and heavy to my taste although I did understand the baroque connection. It was a shame that the lounge was unavailable in the evenings after the reception was closed. Our GPS had some challenges in finding the way from the harbour to the hotel, which is of’course not the hotel’s fault but good to know.

Ulrika and Tobias are amazing hosts: kind, discrete, available and friendly! The room's design and forniture was amazing and they care a lot about using local and homemade products for breakfast (bread, jams, granola, etc.) and in the room's equipment (soap and blankets crafted in Gotland). The night check-in instructions were very clear. After the check-out they kept my luggage for some hours and they were kind enough to call a taxi for me, letting me stay in a really cozy living room to wait for it. The hotel is located in the old town, close to the main attractions and facilities and very easy to reach by foot.

Everything went perfect!

The hotel was everything we hoped for. Old buildings were beautiful and rooms were decorated with good taste and to enhance the atmosphere. All the staff members were very friendly and helpful and we got good advice for a day trip outside Visby. Breakfast was quite simple but delicious with quality products and many homemade and homebaked things. Peaceful mornings having breakfast outside on the yard under the Gotland sunshine were one of my favourite moments of also otherwise very nice holiday.

Small detail, but the reception is closed (and all doors locked) til 3pm, which would have been helpful to know when checking in. Unfortunately we did not see information about this in our booking and had to wait in the rain for an hour. We would have really appreciated a small lounge or some kind of access to the building where we could have waited for the check in time and reception to open.

Breakfast with some homemade bread was very nice and served until 10:30. Given it was pre-season with limited opening times of restaurants and cafés across town and the island, the hotel also offered a lunch package for those interested. While there was no kettle in the room, the open tea and coffee area downstairs was available all day with tea from the local tea shop and homebaked cookies.

The only, tiny thing I missed a bit was a bit more fruit to add to the Müsli for example.

Location is perfect, in the city centre and close to everything. The hotel is in the 13th century building with old walls and some interior from the past, creates quite a nice atmosphere and adds up to the feeling in being in an ancient town. The staff was extremely nice and friendly, and they offered breakfast in the garden, perfect if the weather is good.

It is a bit pricey for the value they offer. The room was quite basic and small, and it would be nice to have slippers and a bath robe at least. The bathroom was super small, ok for me but could be inconvenient for someone very tall or with broad shoulders. The breakfast was nice, enough if you stay for 2-3 days, but if you stay for a week it could become boring. Some more healthy protein sources would be nice, e.g., salmon, kvark or omelette.

Lovely hotel for our two-nights break in Visby. The owners and receptionist were all lovely, super helpful. They booked a taxi for us to pick us up from the ferry and bring us back, so that was great. We had a choice of gluten free bread at breakfast in the morning which was very much appreciated. The room we had was great, immaculate, super comfy bed and lovely medieval style with a view on the church. The hotel is very central in old Visby, you can walk everywhere. There are tables outside to enjoy the sun. We didn't try the bar area but it looked like it had a nice choice of drinks.

Our room & bathroom were a bit on the small side, but still comfortable.
