Very clean and spacious room with a good table in case you need to work a bit as well. Rooms were cleaned every day, towels changed if needed at no charge. WiFi was good. Really good shower. Good soap and shower gel provided. The hotel is very well located at a central enough location that makes it convenient to access the old town, the university area and other central parts of Bern, you can walk anywhere without even needing public transportation (free for your stay).

Not a big thing, but these days you often have a boiler or small coffee machine to do yourself a complimentary coffee/tee: it would have been great to have that.

Quite and cozy place located close to downtown and old town. Very friendly staff on reception. The hotel provided me a guest card (without my request) which allowed me to use all public transportation within the city. It was a room for one, and I think it could be a bit larger. Though it was clean and functional (but bathroom).

Bathroom had a "modern" design which was not functional. Not enough room on shelves in it, Bed was not as comfi as it could be, even for a "budget" hotel. Breakfast did not include hot dishes such as scrambled (or other style) eggs, bacon or sausages. Though it was very tasty bread, cheese, ham and bakery.

Small private hotel with lovely ambience in reception and garden patio area. Warm welcoming staff. A bowl of fresh apples and coffe available was appreciated. Microwave available in breakout reception area Small single room very functional and well designed. Clean. Comfortable bed and linens. Very quiet and good mechanised exterior blinds achieved a dark room for sleeping. Location. Easy walk from train or into old town but free Bern travel card and buses and trams every minute allows easy access everywhere

Would very highly recommend. The only negative was that it was a shame that the endless smoking in the garden patio was so unpleasant for non smokers. Also siphoned into reception area. Many properties recognise that passive smoking is both very unpleasant and harmful to health. Perhaps like many train stations and hotels it could take a stand and become a totally non smoking property.

Clean room and bathroom, comfortable bed and pillow. Great that free tea or coffee was available at any time. Breakfast (to pay for) was very good. I especially liked the great variety of fresh fruit every morning.

Not easy to find initially. It'd be a good idea to add the tram direction to the tram number. Once I'd found it, very easy to get tram nearby. Receptionist 1 was busy on her phone when I arrived, so I had to wait until she was ready, not v welcoming at all. . (All others were friendly and helpful.)

The hotel was closer to the railway station and the city centre than I had expected - about a 15-minute walk. However, Bern offers free public transport to people staying in the city, and the hotel contacts you before arrival to explain how to access this. The staff at reception were helpful. The room and the bed were comfortable, the WiFi was very good, a hairdryer was provided and the heating was efficient. It was very quiet at night.

The bathroom was not very big and there was a shelf at head height which was inconvenient in a small space. The TV channels were not as listed in the information in the room.

The room was in excellent condition there was a nice large desk to work with which I appreciated as was travelling with my laptop. The bathroom was also in excellent condition and the daily towels/cleaning was greatly appreciate. The hotel is quite close to the old town within 15/20 mins walk however, if you do not prefer to walk you can always use tram/buses.

I could not really find anything I did not like about my stay at the hotel maybe the room not having a kettle to make tea/coffee was a slight disadvantage. Also there was no view but that is to be expected.

The room is little, but very comfy; There are all the stuff needed for people traveling, from a free welcome bottle water, to hairdryer or the iron and ironing board. The best thing is the bed, which is absolutely comfy in any season. Light system is easy and can be handle from the bed. The breakfast it's ok, with almost all the good thing to make any kind of type of breakfast: continental, salt or sweat.

The only bad thing is the bathroom, which is really compact and the major thing are made in plastic; the problem is not the plastic itself, but the fact that it makes a lot of noise, especially in night hours.

The family room was spacious with two comfortable beds. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of food and beverage items. The hotel is conveniently located in the city center of Bern, public transport is within walking distance. The staff were very helpful and friendly. They offered exceptional customer service with a special request. I definitely recommend this hotel and will stay here again when in Bern the next time.

My family and I we had a lovely stay at the hotel, the facilities are really nice, we especially appreciated the lovely garden/patio, a very pleasant space to enjoy the nice weather and have a cup of coffee. The hotel is not that close to the Old Town, in our case since it was rather hot and we were with senior people we uber there, easy and not too expensive, but you can easily walk since is not more than 20 minutes away. Breakfast was OK, not too many options in terms of hot food but it does.the job. Nothing really to complain about La Pergola, we would come back for sure!

Rooms are spacious, Fully closing curtains allow you to get full sleep, Apple and hot beverage service throughout the day, very close to public transportation, and there is a lovely open area to enjoy sun and relax

There is a strong smell of damp in the rooms. Morever, Some Swiss are too didactic. While enjoying cigarettes in the garden, the hotel receptionist preferred to give a sermon that starts with the words that " U may like it, but others may not bla bla instead of silently closing the door to the hotel. Unfortunately this is the general problem of Switzerland. There is a secret air of self-righteousness. Besides, on the balcony of the apartment directly opposite the hotel, there is a loud Swiss who constantly shouts and creates the atmosphere of Hitler's Nuremberg rally.
