Location of the hotel in the middle of historic Murten, as well as the Deluxe room with comfortable bed, and nicely sized room that included a little niche with a table. Very cozy feel, and exposed stone walls, which added to the room's unique character and charm. The staff at the hotel were exceptional, always friendly and eager to help with anything I needed.

While the breakfast buffet didn't look particularly appetizing at first glance, I was pleasantly surprised by the good selection of items on offer.

Wonderful location, charming rooms, welcoming staff, and view of the lake. We had a wonderful stay in the romantic gateway.

In the summer the restaurant is using outside space and the sound comes up easily to the rooms. So don't expect to get to sleep too early.

It’s an old building, you can hear your neighbour if they are inconsiderate and loud like ours were at 11pm. But that’s not the hotels fault, and these guys were ridiculously loud. It’s time to refurbish the bathroom to the same standard as the rest of the room.

Staff is amazing, everyone we interacted with was so friendly, helpful and even funny. From Reception to restaurant, bar, breakfast, great team.

Location was excellent for my needs. Very scenic. Clean room. Good strong wifi signal. Large bathroom. Though the price is higher than other hotels, a complimentary beverage is included in your stay, plus breakfast which was much more substantial than other hotel breakfasts. This, along with the great location, very clean atmosphere, and large room meant that the cost was actually a better value than most.

The staff gave me incorrect infomation - the path around the lake was not open as I had been told. It was barricaded, locked with chains and gates, and underwater due to the recent flooding.

The view over the lake is amazing. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant serves delicious food.

The decoration of the room was not like the pictures on Booking.com. We expected a more modern style. However the room was very comfortable and clean and the view was wonderful.

Our first room (Superior but modest & pink) was not what we expected. But after a quick jump to the welcome desk and the payment of an additional fee we were able to upgrade to a beautiful suite. Thank you!

The room was too warm because the window had been shut prior to my arrival. The fan helped to cool the room, but during really warm weather it would be far worse
