Location - right in the heart of Taroko attractions, lets you get ahead of the crowds in the morning. Great opportunity to learn more about indigenous culture and try foods. The room was comfortable and clean.

Nothing major. Small criticism is that we paid some extra for a mountain view that we got, but the windows were small and low which limited the value of the view. Not worth paying extra for. Also worth mentioning is that as a non-Chinese speaker, some of the cultural side was lost on us, but this is to be expected. It is pricy compared to other places we stayed, but that’s the price of the unique location.

Location among the mountains was amazing. It was a perfect starting point to all the Taroko hiking trails in the national parks. You can walk 1 minute by foot to the visitor center and then to a beautiful suspension bridge. The cabins’ exterior design fit perfectly into the landscape.

The cabins were very basic. I wished there was an extra door between the bathroom and the sleeping area. (The toilet door had an opening at the top) The mattresses were very uncomfortable (too hard) to sleep on. The included dinner was quite good but I found the breakfast choices a little limited. Also we noticed that the buckets hanging above our heads in the dining area were not decorative but fly traps!! DEFINITELY A NO GO for me! It is disgusting to look at all the dead insects during ones meals

It was a rather expensive stay, but overall, it was very nice. The location is truly unique. just in the middle of Taroko National Park. It is super easy to get to the main trails. The food was nice, the rooms were comfy, and the best part was the views from this hotel. Loved every minute there.

You have to be aware that most entertainment is happening in Chinese, and not all staff members speak English. However, the ones who does are super amazing, friendly, and helpful. They're really trying to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

The staff were so sweet, my daughter was inconsolable when she lost a necklace there and they were so nice about looking for it and sending it to Taipei for us. They clearly care a lot and it was much appreciated. Lodging is with a Japanese style platform, the bathroom facilities are a little dated but are clean. The grounds are so lovely. It’s not very quiet with the sounds of the forest but it is close to nature. The meals do not seem to vary much and I think as it is shoulder season for tourists there is not a buffet for dinner but rather set dinner.

This hotel has a great location. Beyond that it is a bunch of very clean an comfortable bungalows situated around two large central courtyards, all surrounded by forest and gardens. It was so beautiful, pleasant and relaxing. Diner and breakfast were both fun. It was buffet style with a large selection arranged in an unexpected way. The food itself was good but could be better.

Not the hotels fault, but there is road construction between the entrance to Taroko Gorge and the hotel. You will need to plan around road closures if you travel from that direction. It was not a big problem because they let traffic through at scheduled times. Check with the park visitors center to avoid some very long waits.

Wasn't able to pay by card. Foreign cards weren't accepted. Had to take a taxi back and forth to Hualien to bring cash to pay for the accommodation. Extra hour and 800 TWD spent.

I was there on 3 April - the very day of the hualien earthquake. I was lucky to survive not just because of luck, but because of the dedication and helpfuness of all the staff. They went above and beyond to serve us food, water (water tank was crushed by huge boulders) and sent people to the city to tell them that we were safe due to the absence of reception. It would be a 20/10 if I could. Highly recommended. The dance and performances were added icing on the cake!

This place is quite a trip on its own. A celebration of indigenous Taiwanese culture - every single night. The grounds are incredibly beautiful, set in a grassy plateau in the mountains above Taroko Gorge. You stay in nice wooden cabins that surround f the courtyards. the main hall is where breakfast and dinner are and oh my is it quite a spread every night and morning. So much food including nightly pork rib bbq. Tip: Save room for the best part of the bbq after they turn the lights out. The staff work very hard and the manager was very helpful in giving advice on our Zhiulu Old Road hike. It’s close to everything in Taroko and you can beat the tour buses to parking spots early in the morn for some peaceful exploration before the onslaught. What we didn’t know was that this place is a large scale tourist operation/experience bussing Asian tourists in every night for a the dinner and show. It was a bit strange as independent travelers and three nights feels a bit weird when the show happens each night. However they DID give us a special steak meal for staying 3 nights which was a nice touch. All in all though and great value and memorable experience.

The show is not geared towards western tourists… there is a screen with some English context but there is a lot of talking in mandarin… fair enough, you are in Taiwan just be aware. The beds are a bit firm and pillows seem almost inflated they are so big. Found myself using chair pillow instead. Lovely cabins though.

They were very engaging right from the start. Helped arranged our transfer to and from, adviced us on hikes that we could do from the hotel. We deliberately wanted to stay in the gorge area and would recommend it strongly to anyone. You get a piece of nature but will still enjoy the facilities and safety of a very good quality hotel with a resort feel and nightly entertainment. You will also learn about the local aboriginal culture and history. The shower and toilet are also separate, plus point.

Not that there is much to dislike, if anything, the room's age shows if you look but that's really nit-picking and everything works!

Fabulous location. Very unusual and attractive set up. A “ safari lodge” type atmosphere

Supper and the show afterwards somewhat regimented. Food somewhat “ samey “. Not sure one would want to stay more than a couple of nights. No “ main host” or person in charge in evidence. Nobody apparently personally interested in us which often makes a disproportionate difference.
