I don’t really get the extremely negative reviews about this hotel. I was almost “scared away” from booking this place… However upon arrival these negative reviews were totally uncalled for. Sure, the hotel is old and you can see that in the room’s decoration and atmosphere. However the property is well maintained and the rooms were very clean and spacious, so who cares? Old is not necessarily bad… The room was also very quiet. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. They literally (!) run for you when you ask for something. The location is absolutely great. Right next to the train station and all the main bus stops, meaning wherever you want to go you can get there easily. I would book this hotel again.

If I had to pick one thing I would say the hardness of the bed. However I have noticed this in my other hotels in Taiwan as well so I think relatively hard beds are the standard in Taiwan. The level of hardness at Tainan Hotel was still OK for me though. It wasn’t uncomfortable, it’s more that I’m used to a softer mattress at home :).

I must admit that this 60-year-old hotel has its historical charm, which is why I booked a room there. The facilities are what a proper hotel should be and ought to be for travellers. I am saying this because I stayed in a modern hotel nearby when I visited Tainan as the first trip. The modern hotel looks fancy but walls were just too thin. I could hear people chatting and flushing in that modern hotel every night. It is clear that this model hotel simply just renovated the space with partitions of rooms in order to accommodate more people. The second trip, which I stayed in Hotel Taina this time is much more comfortable as I had really good sleep. Their night snacks (or supper) were a friendly gesture. I appreciated that. The toilet is equipped with Electronic bidet, which is a pleasant installation for us. Though the interior design was a bit outdated, the history actually speaks its past glory. The room key is still a 'key' not a card. I was quite amazed by this, but in general, I feel quite safe as they are always people at the front desk. Anyway, I recommend this historical hotel for I had really wonderful and restful time there.

Closely located to Tainan station and a huge shopping centre 新光三越, which is very convenient Friendly staff Comfortable room Has quite a variety of local food businesses around, including the popular traditional Pu Jei bakery

The bathroom/toilet was a bit small and cramped Laundry was on the pricier side compared to other hotels I have been to

The staff were very friendly, and the rooms were very comfortable. The wifi was great. The bed was very nice. The breakfast was also quite nice. The room was quiet.

A few more electrical outlets would have been welcome, but not a serious problem.

All good and nothing to be complained

the last day of our stay suddenly out of air condition, even during late night staff still come up to help solve problem at once. Finally, it can fixed without technique they help to change room at once.

the breakfast lacked love , they had everything , so a good variety, but it was not tasty or fresh , the best thing was the egg station .

Very close to main railway station. Helpful reception staff. Room size is perfect. Hotel restaurant has a buffet with a broad choice of food both Chinese and non Chinese.

Its close to the main station, which is a plus when you arrive late in Tainan.

Its a little outdated, but that’s ok for just one night. It was relatively expensive, as well.

Great maintenance.

Great providing underground parking, but would have been excellent if it's in the same building as the hotel.
