Laid back atmosphere of the property and room, and friendly staff. Unique and quaint layout of rooms and floors. Lots of "antique" and very old stuff in cabinets in the room. Room has a very high ceiling, allowing for an interesting wooden loft reached by a wooden ladder. The aircon was powerful, and there was a bar fridge. The private toilet and shower for our room (no. 3) was across the hall but this was not a big issue. Some of the other rooms may have attached toilets though. Convenient local eateries around the vicinity within 2-3 blocks of the dwelling.

Housekeeping is apparently not provided, as beds were not made throughout our 4-night stay. Towels were not changed, and shower gel, shampoo, toothbrush/toothpaste, and toilet paper, were not replenished unless requested for. Waste baskets however were emptied daily, and two bottles of water were provided daily. There was no kettle, and thus no way to make coffee or tea in the room. There is no TV in the room, There is no breakfast option although this was not a major issue for us. The main door is padlocked from ~8 pm until ~8 am the next morning, so night owls and morning larks need to let themselves in and out. Our room was on level 3, so lugging baggage was quite an effort, and the place is definitely not suitable for older folks.

Lots of character and absolutely lovely staff! Wonderful coffee and drinks downstairs, lots of yummy food nearby. Chinatown on one side and a quieter arty neighbourhood within reach on the other, which leads down to the canal and river. In typical Thai style the bed was very hard, but the mattress up on our mezzanine was a bit softer. We loved having a fan and the staff kindly put the air conditioning on for us while we were out! Towels and bedding were very clean and we loved the room's furnishings. Of course it's a bit noisy outside - you're in an old building in the centre of it all! Expect stairs and a private bathroom outside of your room if you're booking one of the smaller accommodations. However please ignore negative reviews, especially about the staff - they were so lovely and available at all hours to help us. If you're someone who appreciates kindness, character, a unique space in a heritage building, and great coffee, and doesn't mind a bit of noise or have accessibility requirements, you'll love staying here - it's unique and grand. If you'd prefer an air tight airport type standard hotel, there are lots of other options in this big and vibrant city. Thank you so much 103 for welcoming us!

We love the location, it's very interesting neighborhood next to Chinatown with a couple of best bars in Bangkok old-town. We are locals and want to stay here for bars crawling. This place is decorated in vintage / antique. The room is much larger than we expected because there is extra floor inside the room for the 3rd bed making the ceiling high. We we weren't aware of this when making the booking.

I wish I knew beforehand that the toilet is not located inside our room, what a big letdown. From the other reviews, seems like there are rooms with toilets inside, make sure you specify one when booking.

Quirky, eclectic and cool. The decor is an interesting collection of bits and bobs, curated someone with a unique sense of style. Between Hua Lamphong train station, Wat Tramit and China Town. Room 103 had 15' ceiling which allowed for a mezzanine floor, and another double bed (futon).

Lack of ensuite facilities, but that was part of its retro charm. Not realising the bar and cafe were shut on Mondays. But I had the cold drip nitro coffee this morning, with orange and ginger fruit shot...

The people were really friendly, the room was clean and had load of character - it was not just another bland hotel room. It's right in the centre of Chinatown, but off a side road, so it's quiet.

The hotel is original and wood construction so the noise from people walking in the room above you is loud, but people kids are not allowed, and people are respectful, so it wan't a problem.

Pretty much everything about this place is amazing for the price and location. Staff are so friendly and kind, room was clean and well kept and beautifully decorated. location on soi nana means you have access to all the new interesting bars around there. Second time here and just as great an experience.

Rama IV is a busy road and whilst it quietens down late at night if you’re susceptible to noise it can be a little much early on in the evening. But this is Bangkok so you need to expect this sort of thing!

An incredibly charming, special place to stay - everything in the rooms is thoughtfully chosen and the rooms themselves feel like heritage lofts. The staff have the exact right balance of being available and kind, and also giving you privacy and space. You're also a short stumble away from Chinatown's best bars (TEP for example) and from all the incredible street food. I absolutely loved it :)

Some people might not like that your (private) bathroom is across the hall - but I actually liked that.

Really close to Chinatown, so lots of good food places and bars to explore. Also close enough to the blue line subway with easy access to the rest of the metro.

The main property gate/entrance is locked by an old school lock and key, and if you’re out late it can be quite a hassle to get into the property.

The property is situated in Chinatown and is in walking distance of markets and lots of street food stands. The hotel itself was immaculately clean and well presented in a very unique and lovely way. The ladies that run it are very helpful and accommodating. Highly recommend and would stay here again if ever in Bangkok.

There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room and the reception was closed very early so could not purchase a drink.

If you want a change from a standard Bangkok hotel - and want to be near Chinatown - this is a good and different sort of place to stay. If you want home comforts and room service, this won't be for you. If you're more of an adventurous and independent sort of traveler, it will.
