We're a family of 4, we got the entire level 6 floor. It was great, like having an apartment with 1 large and 2 smaller balconies and 2 separate rooms. Location was great, very short walk into the centre of Chinatown and a 711 on the same street.

Only thing that could make this better is a couch to sit on, only has a dining room table and chairs

The hotel is located in a small side alley right in chinatown. The room was very clean, everything was in good condition and we had enough space for our luggage and clothes. Water pressure was more than enough, a/c, WiFi and tv in the room all worked well. We were on the fourth floor and grateful for the elevator. On the ground floor you can refill your bottles with filtered water. The receptionist was very polite and helpful. Just around the corner are hundreds of food stalls to make everyone happy, so we never tried the coffee at the hotel. We really enjoyed our stay at Mangkon Hostel and highly recommend staying here!

There are only two very minor things that could be improved: a mosquito net for the bathroom window would be great and a way to prevent the light of the staircase leaking into the room.

My recent stay at this summer holiday accommodation was a delightful experience overall. The flat boasted two generously sized bedrooms and a living room, providing ample space for relaxation and comfort. The modern furnishings added a touch of sophistication to the ambiance, creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests. One of the standout features of this accommodation was its spaciousness. With plenty of room to move around, it was perfect for families or groups of friends looking to enjoy a comfortable stay in the heart of Bangkok. Additionally, the location was convenient, with easy access to the ferry, making it a breeze to explore the city's attractions.

However, despite these positive aspects, there were a few minor drawbacks that detracted from the overall experience. One notable issue was the lack of attention to detail when it came to amenities. Surprisingly, essential items such as glasses and knives were missing from the kitchen, which was a slight inconvenience.

I am one of those people who loves/always reads a review on a hotel but never leaves one personally. However I feel my review will help others. Being a traveller and touring south east asia for two months. Money is important. Being in and around Khoasan Road there are many places to stay,so for those of you looking for a hostel type accomodation. Definitely book this place. About 3-5 min walk for the road, private room not no bunk bed dorm where some random could answer their phone at stupid O’clock and have a full on convo whilst others asleep. Good value for money. Staff are lovely helpful and kind. Should be called a guesthouse rather than a hostel but there you go.

If i had to pick something, door was a little stiff to our bedroom and maybe some cleaning products to hand ie shampoo/body wash. But again, if i had to pick at something negative.

This hostel met and exceeded all expectations. I stayed in a private room. This room had a great bed, great aircon, clean bathroom and hot water. The place is new so as a result everything was clean and in good condition. There was a balcony as well, smart TV and heaps of clothing and storage space. The area is really quiet as well, there is an elevator to get to the upper floors. There is also a fridge, water cooler and tea and coffee making facilities in the entrance area of the building, available 24 hours. All of this was really handy at a hot time of the year when I stayed. I did not have to ask the staff for much, but when I did they seemed very friendly. All in all very good value for money.

The area is a little bit far from the nearest bars, and there are not many restaurants adjacent to it open in the day. That said, when I say a little bit far it is only 5 minutes walk to the street vendors of Chinatown and 10-15 minutes before you get to a bigger selection of bars. So I don't reduce my rating for this - I think it is worth it for the quiet atmosphere. The area seemed entirely safe to walk home at night, based on my experience anyway.

Absolutely newly renovated rooms! It feels like a good 3-stars hotel rather than hostel. Separate bathroom, wardrobe. Nice location in China Town: very quite place, just 300m from main streets to enjoy the evenings. Hot water (tea, coffee) available. Even rooms with shared bathroom has a very good nice showers! And access to small kitchen (not a case for rooms with private facilities)

It's only minor thing: we did not understand from our booking that rooms with bathroom and with shared bathrooms are in different building. Thus, booking 2 rooms with different setup, we finished being split (parents /child) in different buildings across the street.

This Hostel is a hidden gem. Initial impression from outside was misleading. Rooms are big and very comfortable. Pictures are a true representation of facilities. Loved the fridge/freezer available for use on ground floor. TV had internet and able to watch YouTube and Netflix if sign in under own name. 800m away from Metro Train (Blue line). Night time Street food market 1 street away. Will definitely stay here again

Can be noisy during night as people come and go. Quiet times might be beneficial.

I like how calmingly quiet the hostel is at night. Then, if you are hungry at nighttime, you can easily grab some snacks or microwave meals at the 7-Eleven located at the opposite end of the corner-lot. The other guests mostly were backpackers, and during my stay, they are friendly, greeted each other in the morning or at night whenever you passed by each other.

Overall, the place is very good value for money, but if there's one improvement I could suggest, is for the Mangkon Hostel owners to make the appearance of the hotel more pretty because when i first saw the hostel i felt skeptical due to its dull lighting and uncompleted renovation (i guess, it looked like there is a renovation going on).

It was clean and I really enjoyed the location as it was close to ChinaTown but in a much quiet street. The room was big and very comfortable

I tried to ask few times for recommendations, information, or support for transport but I didn’t feel welcome with the staff, I felt like I was annoying them and asking for something weird. When you are travelling your hostel is your first link with the country, and I feel is important to be supportive
