A very nice and comfortable stay in a pretty authentic area, away from the hustle and bustle of the city (although still close enough). Amazing breakfast with many options you can choose from, as the hotel cooks it to order. The rooms are quite big and comfortable, and very clean. Best of all are the hotel staff, who do everything they can to make you feel comfortable - often giving us a ride to the city center. If you are looking for something a bit more authentic and local, you can't go wrong with De Wiang Kum Kam.

The location might be a problem for some travellers, as it is not that close to the city center and even drivers on Grab may have trouble getting to this hotel. Another thing is that because the hotel is situated right next to a temple, you will hear chanting from around 5am in the morning. Even though the hotel provides earplugs, light sleepers may find this a deal-breaker.

De Wiang Kum Kam is truly a gem! The staff went above and beyond to make my stay memorable, organizing my room beautifully for my birthday—a thoughtful touch that made the experience unforgettable. The room itself was spacious, comfortable, and clean. The rental bike was in great condition and perfect for getting around. While the location is a bit far from the old town, the hotel offers free shuttles, which made it very convenient. Overall, an amazing stay.

The staff are very lovely, room was very clean and fairly comfortable even tho the bed is Thai style, hence hard. The free shuttle to the city was a nice touch. Even tho no fruits/yogurt option for breakfast the lady served me so chilled watermelon when I was at the pool. :)

It’s far from most things, no supermarket, pharmacy or anything really walking distance. Bed is hard, balcony facing a construction site(looks ugly and a big noisy) not as bad as it could be as they I think they are about to finish the construction.

The owners (also caretakers) of this gem of a boutique hotel made our trip to Chiang Mai an unforgettable experience. I'd especially like to mention Mai (the owner is her uncle Oat) who made our stay almost like a homestay. They are some of the nicest people that we have ever met :-) Mai helped us with reserving our spot for some really interesting tours (including to Chiang Rai), even at the last moment! Once she even waited with us in the scorching heat for the tour operators to show up, so that we would not face any problems! Some times we ordered in Thai food through Grab. Mai even helped us with identifying the appropriate dishes (the menus were often in Thai). She also cooked some special dishes for our breakfasts, including the famous mango sticky rice :-) The Thai omelette is a must-try :-) I could really go on and on about how awesome our stay was!! Note: this area has lots of ruins of very old temples, and some functional temples. We took bike rides to soak in all that this wonderful and historical area has to offer. Finally, I would like to thank Mai for the delicious coconut ice creams! :-) We will definitely be back here next time we visit Chiang Mai!

Nothing!

This place was like a home to us. I especially enjoyed the huge and comfy bed - we slept like babies. But the best thing is the staff. These people are always there to help with anything you need. They picked us up from the airport which was a great touch:) Also, we rented a scooter from them to move around. Also, they offer a shuttle to take you to the city center. I mean with the customer service they went up and beyond. The wifi was working just fine and the breakfast terrace was my happy place to work remotely in peace:)

Maybe the location was a bit farther from the city center than I expected and the room was a bit dark.

The hosts are amazing. They are very friendly and willing to go the extra mile. The breakfast is made per order, and it is delicious. The location is not the typical tourist location as it is a bit out of the main attraction area, but we loved the fact that we could eat at a local restaurant where there is no English menu and get awaken by monks chanting at the temple next to the hotel. The hotel offers bicycles to ride in the neighbourhood and lifts to the Night Bazaar and the Old City.

If you're looking for 5 star hotel, this isn't the place. However, if you're after 6* authentic Thai hospitality, this is the place to book! A family business run by an uncle, his wife and niece, they went above & beyond to make our experience as comfortable and pleasant as possible. The unexpected mango sticky rice for breakfast after they learned it was my favourite, was the sweetest touch. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately the bed was suited for Thai/Asian sleepers. For Westerners it'd be too hard even with an added cover. Be prepared to be surrounded by noise from cockerels, loud speakers and bells from the next door temple a few times a day.

In all our years, continents, experiences, we have never enjoyed as sweet, generous, thoughtful and caring owners and staff. These folks are wonderful and beautiful! We received so much more than a hotel with character, great breakfasts (and cookies and shakes!) We were looked after and we were presented with offers and gestures of kindness, before we could even think of them. We have warm, loving memories of our stay.

The location is a bit far, but the owners/hosts even help overcome that!

Family owned and operated, excellent service all round. Very very receptive owners. Paradise in its own compound. They really go above and beyond. Incredible value. Relaxing atmosphere. -free all day coffee/banana's/homemade cookies/drinking water/ cutlery and plates -free airport pickup/drop off and free shuttles into city 3 possible times in the day -option for in house thai massage -salt water pool -very good American style menu picked breakfast -stocked mini fridge and laundry options -clean rooms Our 3rd time in chiang mai and undeniably the best we've been too Follow the road past the large parking lot to one of the best authentic/basic thai resturants in the city Zoom in on Google maps when coming back it will automatically direct you to the "wiang kum kam resort" which is located on the back street behind this one

I think it is the small family hotel. The staff was very helpful, breakfast good. The hotel has a swimming pool and wide TV near it. There is a cozy space for evening sitting.

I chose from 4 star hotels and did not check the city area. I found hotel in a poor part of the city. The hotel room is good, but the bathroom is poor. Especially the balcony is unpleasant. All sides are closed. We traveled around the region, it was not big problem for us. When we entered the room, we were surprised by the list of penalties placed on the table.
