This hostel is located near Wat Phra Singh, just a 4-minute walk away. It is a very modern, industrial-style building. The check-in time is strictly at 2 pm, so if you arrive early, you can get the room key and store your luggage, but you have to wait until 2 pm to check in. The first floor features a large public space where you can meet people, eat, and borrow computers to look up information. There is also a coin-operated washing machine. This hostel does not have an elevator, and the stairs are wide and large without handrails, so you need to pay attention to safety. It could be a bit inconvenient if you carry a suitcase like I did. The room I booked is on the 3rd floor, a mixed dorm for 8 people. The bed is very wide and large, and I think it’s no problem for two people to sleep comfortably. Each bed is provided with a privacy curtain, which works very well in blocking light. When the curtain is pulled, it creates a small personal space where you can hardly see any outside light. However, the hostel does not provide lockers, so you’ll need to carry your valuables with you. The bedding is very comfortable and clean, though the quilt is a bit thin. But if you prepare long clothes and pants like I did, you won’t feel cold. The bathing area is quite spacious, with a clear separation of dry and wet zones. However, there are only two shower rooms, so it may get a bit crowded if many people are using them. The staff leaves at 7:30 pm every day, so if you need assistance, you can contact them by phone. It is also not allowed to dry clothes or eat in the rooms. Overall, it was a satisfactory stay.

I am very happy. My life journey as a Chinese is about to end because I am dying. On October 28, 2024, a Chinese doctor diagnosed me with terminal cancer. Don’t feel sad for me, dear stranger, because I am very happy and I am going to die. I love Thailand. The first place I traveled to abroad was Thailand. That was in 2014. Time flies—it's been eleven years in the blink of an eye. Eleven years ago, I came here. And now, eleven years later, as I am about to die, I have come to Thailand again. Time is like a cycle. This is my fourth time in Thailand: 2014, 2016, 2019, and 2024. I love the environment, the pace of life, and the relaxed nature of the Thai people. So, I decided to come to Thailand again as I approach death, to see this city that I deeply love. Staying at Pinghostel is the beginning of my successful death trip to Thailand. Ping has a high rating on Booking. First of all, the location of Ping is excellent. It’s right next to Wat Phra Singh. If you walk fast, it takes only 3 minutes; if you walk slowly, it takes about 5 minutes. There’s a 7-11 and places to eat right outside, which makes life very convenient. Ping has four floors and is a beautifully modern building. The first floor has the reception area, a large public space, a restaurant, and a laundry area. You must wait until 14:00 to check in. If you arrive earlier, you can store your luggage. The receptionist was very friendly and spoke great English, though I had some trouble understanding the Thai and Indian accents. The staff explained everything clearly, such as check-out time, breakfast hours, and the hostel facilities. The public space on the first floor is spacious, making it a great place to chat and make friends. After checking in, you will receive the room card and key. There’s no deposit required. The second to fourth floors are all accommodation areas. There’s no elevator here, so if you’re like me and have a suitcase, it might be inconvenient.

The location was within walking distance from all of the places we wanted to see. The room was large and laid out perfectly. At first the staff seemed unengaged but later in the stay, the staff was extremely helpful and kind. This was the first place during our visit to Thailand and Vietnam where the water temperature was perfect and adjustable so this was fantastic.

The breakfast offered was very little and amounted to toast but honestly, we didn't come for the breakfast so please plan accordingly.

my husband and I stayed in a double room with en-suite and it was a huge room, well finished and a very lovely bathroom. the hostel seems more like a hotel - not that sociable in the communal area like I’d expect a hostel to be. we actually extended our stay by 2 nights because it was such a nice room and good value. there are also washing machines/tumble dryer available for only 50 baht each. location wise it’s quite central in the old town so you could walk around the whole of the old town if you so wished.

the only comments would be the mattress is very hard. and the breakfast is quite literally just toast with butter and jam.

This place is greatly located, you are pretty much next to Wat Phra Singh, which means that the Sunday market is like 20 seconds away but without the noise, it is also the same distance to almost every place, the usuals nearby. The place is really beautifully decorated, the rooms have space, big lockers, good wifi and very quiet in general. It is a bit on the pricey side for Chiang Mai but it is reasonable, the staff is friendly (could improve English a bit), the space is spark clean and well maintained, there is a small basic breakfast with a few things.

Beds are a bit rough, another hostel with thin mattress on wood which could make it hard for some people to sleep. Also, this is just quite personal, they seem to not use the space available the right way, the hostel has an unusual design, not sure what was the building before but it seems like there could get a lot more from the space they have. The toilet distribution is a bit off as one floor is men, another one women and the top one mixed, the bathrooms are shower/toilet in the same area so both things are busy at the same time, there is also a large sink outside the bathrooms for no apparent reason at all, no hand soap in the toilets.

The rooms were amazing! Luxury for a cheap price!

It said breakfast included and it was just bread and butter. One of the days there was no bread and the other no tea. So I would not count it as “breakfast included”

The private rooms are super spacious, clean, with a lot of place to store your clothes. Comfortable bed too.

The maid enters the room to drop water and towel despite having the "don't disturb" sign on 😄

The size of the room is massive. The property is fairly new and clean. The decor is special which has its own character. You can't beat the location as it is just right next to the Sunday Market walking street and near my favourite restaurant and cafe. Also, one of my favourite massage place is nearby too!

The hotel is next to a drum studio and also a dance school. Once I was there in the day, I was surprised by the noise produced by these two neighbours. But, there was no noise in the evening and morning.
