The beach. Khlong Dao Beach is one of the most beautiful in Asia with fine sand, gently sloping into the sea. It was perfect for my 87-year-old mother. Golden Bay makes the most of this with a beautiful lawn looking out to the Andaman Sea and a small terrace perfectly sited for beachfront lunches and cocktails as the sun sets out in front of the hotel. The food was limited but wonderfully good and the staff were lovely. I also loved the monitor lizards that from time to time wondered across the lawn and the hornbills that landed on the roof of my hut at night. It was a great place to spend a very relaxing Christmas.

The breakfast was OK but could have been much better. We went out and bought papaya and mangoes to add to the watermelon and pineapple that was available every day. Bananas would also have been nice. The Thai food for breakfast was always our favourite but more could have been offered. The restaurant, it's setting and staff were all great.

Probably the best location in Klong Dao! Very friendly staff and always clean and nice surroundings. We had a showerhead that didn’t function, and it took less that ten minutes before it was fixed; the staff all really did their best to make everyone happy all day. We also got a really quiet and lovely bungalow.

This place has so much potential! We stayed for three weeks, and there’s just some small things that would improve the place hugely. Whilst there’s room for improvements, it also feels like the owners are content with the way it is. The beds could be better / softer with some extra top matresses. There should also be mosquito nets available. Although the staff did spray our room when I asked, and we didn’t have any mosquitos after they sprayed.

The location is excellent,right in the heart of one of the best beaches on Koh Lanta. The rooms were very comfortable. The food in the restaurant was good. Staff very friendly and helpful.

The breakfast buffet was ok, but not exceptional. Actually I prefer hotels which don't include breakfast and offer an s ka carte option.

I almost checked out after the first night due to how hard the bed was, but was advised to ask for a topper on the bed. After the topper was added, I was able to rest easy. Overall, the location is nice (right on the beach with places to eat in close proximity accessible by the beach), the pool is a good size for the clientele size, and the WiFi and Aircon worked well in the room. The whole place is a bit dated, but it is good value for the money (considering what other locations are charging to be on the beach).

Beware—Mosquitos LOVE this property. Be prepared with bug spray and know that you may spend your first evening trying to kill a small swarm of mosquitos in your room. Keeping the door to the bathroom closed seemed to help.

It is not a 5-star hotel but considering the price I paid that was cheap I got everything I basically needed such as the location is right on a lovely beach, a beautiful swimming , plus free breakfast. The place was well kept and the staff were great, especially Kob, the receptionist was amazing. Thank Golden Bay for making my holiday the enjoyable one.

The lack of power plugs in the room.

Everything was perfect. As soon as we got there, the staff welcomed us with a delicious tea and a lovely smile. In the last minute we decided to upgrade our room and we chose to stay in the Deluxe Vila Sea View. It was the best thing we did! Amazing location, great breakfast, people, food. We will definitely come back in the future. Thank you all the staffs, it was the perfect stay!

Great location right on the beach. Very clean. Nice pool with view of the sea. Food is good. Staff is helpful and friendly. Easy access to beach restaurants, main street and close to Saladan.

It was very quiet, when we stayed there just before high season, which meant a lack of atmosphere.

I've been 5 times to Ko Lanta, and I can say its the best hotel of all I ve been. Perfect in every sence. Nice, clean, quiet. A whole bungalo, clean bed, toweks, safe, fridge, coffee in the room. Extremely helpful friendly personnel, amazing breakfast, loads of choicrs; private beach( sunbeds). Even if I wanted to find negative point- I cant! Was just perfect!

Nothing.Theres nothing negative

First: it has to be understood that everything is in the context of the current "climate" with Covid-19. So, first, that this hotel has survived with all the previous restrictions is remarkable and a great testament to the staff and management. The staff on site really go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The hotel is located right at the beach on Khlong Dao. Our room (no.2) was in fact directly ON the beach - it was truly amazing, the incredible "Lanta sunset" we could watch every day from our own patio, the beach is right outside the door and the bath-warm Andaman sea is 20 meters away. It seems that this room is the ONLY one from all the hotels on this beach that is right facing the ocean so we were incredibly lucky to get it. In the evening you can walk easily along the beach to a good number of restaurants right on the beach front. Its quiet, the only sound are gentle waves rolling onto the beach. The pool is lovely although we did not use it, and there are a number of rooms around the pool also. Second: Remember that this is a true Island Beach hotel - it is not a Hilton or Westin or Crowne Plaza. If you want super-soft beds and 6-inch thick quilts, Baths with Jacuzzi, couches and arm chairs around the room and things like that - you won't find. The room is clean, the bathroom is functional and the basics like fridge, tea/coffee facility etc are all there and the bed and linen is clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is limited, but has eggs, fresh fruit and sliced ham and bread / toast etc..they will cook you a fresh omelette on request. It is not the endless buffet of a 5-Star, so don't expect it, but it is good enough in the most unbelievable setting. Sometimes we had it, sometimes just coffee, sometimes we gave it a miss and had a super brunch at one of the other restaurants along the beach.

I'm going to say nothing negative about this hotel. It delivered everything we wanted for our beach vacation.
