We stayed in "Superior Triple Room with River View" and on the top floor so we had a balcony overlooking the river. The location of this guesthouse (which is close to town) and the setting of the river are the highlights. The room is simple but charming. You could spend a lot of time just chilling on the balcony. There is an honour system for drinks in the communal area (which overlooks the river) - you can take a beer from the fridge and fill out a bit of paper to record what you've had, then pay when you checkout at the end of your stay - we really liked that system and it added to the relaxed and hassle-free vibe of the place. The staff are hardworking, friendly, and helpful. A great base to explore beautiful Lampang from.

Communication was very strong with this hotel. It was easy to communicate with the hotel before my stay about arrival. They give good instructions and a very detailed map of the city with so much helpful information - thank you! On arrival I received a friendly welcome from Lorenza. While I was there they were proactive in checking I was having a good stay. All members of staff I interacted with were friendly. When I asked about my onward journey, the staff were helpful with making sure I knew how to get where I was going next. My room was like the pictures. The bed and pillow were comfortable. The room and bathroom were both very well cleaned each day. There was soap and shampoo in the bathroom. All of the bed linens and towels smelled nice and fresh. Communal areas were very clean and well-organised. There are plenty of sweet and savoury options available for breakfast. The riverside terrace is of course the best part - such a lovely place to sit at any time of the day or evening. I loved looking at the details and character of the decor and garden all around the house. It was really nice that the guesthouse is in one of the most characterful streets of the city - such a nice lane to walk along, then further along the river too. As for modern amenities, Wifi was good throughout the property. I was only able to stay two nights but I thought it was fair value for a central location, and I liked the staff a lot. The accommodation is both well planned and well managed. They take care of every detail to make the most comfortable stay they can in a charming historic property. Thank you all for your hard work. I enjoyed my stay in Lampang!

A stronger light in the bathroom would be good. Both for doing make-up and for chasing mosquitoes, which had found their way in despite the window mesh. On the subject of mosquitoes, be extra vigilant when you enter and exit your room to minimise this inevitable annoyance next to the river. The guesthouse does add lots of coils to discourage them too.

A beautiful traditional thaï house at the Riverside. Il is situated just at the beginning of the old town of Lampang and in the middle of a wonderful garden. It's a rather quiet place and has a nice terrace for relaxing. The café offers some home made snacking and beverage any time which is practical. The rooms are old style, not enough facilities to put your stuff but it's clean. There's no separation for the shower so there's some water everywhere in the bathroom. The breakfast is good but with a restrained choice and not much diversity (which is normal for a homestay). The staff is very nice and helpful. Highly recommended if you're searching for a B&B in Lampang!!!

The Guesthouse is lovely and the wood buildings are rustic and fantastic. The gardens are beautiful and the seating areas are perfact to hang out and read, relax, gaze at the river. The proprietor is wonderful and very helpful and the staff there is the best! Very close to cafes, the weekend night market. Tours can be arranged if you wish. The breakfast was very good and good variety. A quiet getaway in a rustic, casual setting.

The only thing I was missing was tissues in the room. No complaints at all.

Loved the decor in the room and the lighting inside. Loved the soft background jazz piano music. Loved liste ing to it while relaxing on the deck. Staff packed a yummy breakfast sandwich because i had to leave early That was very kind of them. They arranged a taxi to the bus station. Most comfortable matress I've slept on in all of Thailand

When i first checked in they could have told me a few places to visit but they just handed me the key to my room Just missed some important details

A quintessential Thai guesthouse!❤️ A beautiful old wooden house, with a sweet little garden on the way to the reception, and then a few steps further and/or down - the bar/ restaurant space, directly at the river! Delicious breakfast (with options to choose from), good cocktails. The room is pretty and functional, the bed and the balcony enormous, and the river view is sweet, too. The upstairs is a no-shoe zone. Oh, and the staff is kind, friendly and informative.

What a treasure of a guesthouse. It was more than a guesthouse, it was staying in someone's precious home. Lorenza and husband and all their staff were very kind and friendly. The location is perfect for walking everywhere. Lorenza is helpful without being pushy. It is a very special place to stay.

I didn't like that I hesitate to write this review, because whilst wanting to give positive feed back about the guesthouse, I hesitate in doing so, as I would hate to see this place lose it's charm and be overrun by anything other than respectful and sincere guests.

A wonderful riverside place to stay with lovely staff and a relaxed vibe. The rooms with river view and balcony are fabulous and worth the extra cost. However, there is plenty of comfortable seating in the outdoor public areas. We didn't want to leave!

We like drinking tea at all times of day so a kettle in the room or the availability of a self-service hot water urn (+ tea bags) in the lounge area would have been a very welcome addition.

Old wooden house with relaxing atmosphere. You can seat near river bank with cocktail and enjoy the view of the river. Breakfast is à la carte, there is a choice of several options. There's Thai, there's fruit. Delicious. I stayed when it was hot enough, not everyone is comfortable with a fan room. There are options with air conditioning. The location is great, everything is within walking distance.

You have to understand that this is an old wooden house that is over 100 years old. And there are no sound isolation. All depends of your neighbors. For me it was fine.

Kavil Guesthouse is centrally and conveniently located in the Old Town. Its situated down a "lane" along with other places to stay. Eateries are very close. There is a place to do yoga, an Art Workshop nearby, a cooking class centre, and even a place for buying Weed. The breakfast is basic but you can use the kitchen to prepare your own food. The staff aee friendly too. It isn't a 5 star hotel but it's comfortable and has a relaxing terrace where you can meet other people or just chillax. It doesn't take at all long to walk to the main temples and is so convenient when you realise that Sunday market is right at the end of Soi 5. I would go there again. The rooms are reasonable in size, and there is aircon and fan. But you can also open the window for fresh air.

I am not used to the fact that there is no curtain or wall to separate the toilet from the shower. Also there were not enough hooks in the bathroom to hang towel or toilet bag.
