Basically whilst I was visiting Thailand to spend time with family in Bangkok over Christmas I decided to have a little side adventure by myself. I am 78 and carry a walking stick these days. I like to cruise so I booked myself a cruise on the "SS Pullman G" moored at Pattaya, deliberately going nowhere The cruise was everything expected I was able to unwind and relax and give the family a break and was plied with good company, comfortable accommodations and good food as required. I choose the Lanai suites with direct access to one of the 3 x 25 metre pools adjacent.

Hotel rooms typically have many light bulbs and not so much light. So it was with the ss Pullman G, old eyes need a little light or at least the option of having it. The centralised light and services (TV and Air Con) module was splendidly convoluted. A challenged mastered in the end.

This was an amazing stay, never been Thailand was located in the old town where it’s a short 10 minute walk from a local strip of bars and restaurants and if you wanted a drink or club you can get a cheap taxi to walking street

The only downside would be not letting you know about a 5000 baht deposit, it has this information no where do we were surprised when we were asked for it so be aware

The staff and the facilities

The beach and water were dirty and full of rubbish, my wife stepped on glass and cut her foot.

Spent 18 days at pullman G Pattaya, had a great experience also spent last year there aswell. The hotel is amazing right on the beach, breakfast every morning on the water. We always had Leo mong and Peter down there looking after us, thanks boys can't wait to see you guys again. To the cleaners cleaning the rooms amazing and kind. To the staff at reception very kind and sweet. Security guards were always help carrying my dad back to his room after he had a few drinks, Thanks guys. The gardener's were kind aswell and the gardens were beautiful. All the staff in the kitchen and serving thanks so much for your beautiful food and amazing service.The bar staff amazing coctails. Your country is amazing, and thai people are kind and beautiful, always helpful. I think the staff is what makes the pullman such a great place to stay. Every thing was great

Good location, right on the beach. Pleasant area. A beautiful children's room with a cinema. Good swimming pools. Spacious beautiful hall.

Very high humidity in the room. All the clothes and things were wet. Even the pills in packs were soaked. The smell of dampness in the room. The hotel is old, needs a renovation.

The breakfast caters for all tastes and we were treated to the International Seafood Buffet on the Saturday night that provided the highest level of quality and freshness, as well as superb sea views from the Beach Club.

Some improvement could be made to the acoustic performance of the doors, but this is more a reflection on inconsiderate guests rather than the hotel itself. Every shout and banging of doors in the atrium could be heard from the room, but you would be hard pushed to eliminate the level of noise from screaming kids. Teaching them some consideration would be a good solution.

The location on the beach is nice, the view from the room was superb and the room itself was spacious and relaxing. The lounge access makes the experience a lot better.

The reservation process did not go as expected, we asked to change the twin bed to a double but when we checked in they ignored it completely. In the end we were forced to upgrade as there was no adequate solution. Its also a very busy place and its not easy to escape from the hotel as its quite distant from the center and there is little activity around the hotel.

Staff nice and facilities good. Hotel is right on private beach and hotel provides you with fresh beach towels every day.

Couldn't get a drink or any food (even small snacks) after 9pm. Also couldn't buy things like omlette or eggs on toast if you just miss breakfast. Light fitting also started leaking water half way through trip which needed repairing but was done straight away at 3am.

The hotel is situated right on the beach and the breakfast restaurant has a lovely open seating area so that you can enjoy the beach breeze and view. Breakfast buffet selection was good. There are two large pools by the beach and a good beach bar and restaurant serving all day long. Our rooms were on the tenth floor with a good view of the sea. The gym is a decent size with several machines and free weights. Free shuttle to Terminal 21 shopping Center every hour.

Decor feels a little run down. The beach itself is not amazing - in front of the hotel is clean but if you walk along the beach either way you soon come to rubbish and it's better to keep your sandals on.

The beach/pool area is gorgeous. Such a lovely spot, and the service on the beach was good. Breakfast was fantastic and the outdoor deck dining area overlooking the beach was beautiful. The location of the hotel is convenient for transport and short walking distance from 7eleven which was great. The kids indoor area has a cinema, several play areas for different ages all practically located beside the gym.

Upon arrival we had to pay extra for breakfast even though we booked rooms with breakfast included. The rooms were aged. We booked a family and a king room. The bunk bed room in the family room was great structurally for the kids to sleep and play, but overall it was very dusty and musty with dirty windows which obscured an average view of the surrounding skyscrapers… and as is common in Thailand -in cheap hotels, which this was not- the bed sheets always felt wet. We stayed in nicer beach front places in the same area for less/equal cost. We also had ALOT of bug bites and mystery rashes appear while we were staying here. Again not a problem we had in other nearby accommodation before and after our stay but of course this could be coincidence
