the hotel was gorgeous. staff were great. right on the beach.

was the most expensive hotel for food and drinks we stopped in in Thailand. the adults only pool was a bit shabby. we had to wait 3 hours for our room (we got a free meal for the hassle)

Great resort, many amenities and the staff is very helpful. The choice of food is excellent and the property is always clean.

The beach was very dirty with rubbish everywhere and there was constantly a sewage smell around the resort. As well there was lots of repair work happening in the room beside us which made so much noise and smoke. This was very annoying and they could have waited to have the very next rooms vacant before engaging such big renovation!

Everything was really good, we really loved our room with the hot tub on balcony overlooking the pool and far distance ocean view- spectacular views. We stayed in a spa deluxe with a family of 4 2 adults and 2 children baby and a 9year old. Beds are huge think super king so we shared with our 9year old and our baby had a good sized cot with the side that comes down for easy open access. This was great for getting my baby in and out of her cot Food- we only had breakfast included- was a good variety of breakfast but not the best. Lunch- we had at the restaurants at resort, it was expensive, so do get half board. The Spa was amazing at the resort a lot more expensive than what you will get in Patong or out of the resort but we needed convenience with small children as my husband I took turns. The kids club- was brilliant! They had a games room and toddlers room with lots of fun toys, slide, ball pit cars to ride on, kitchenettes and lots more. So fun for all ages. Good safety precautions- the main doors were locked at all times and a staff member will only open to allow one to enter or leave. We went in December Xmas period- we were not bitten at all in the resort we also travelled a lot to patong and did not get bitten there either. But do take your mosquito repellent wipes and sprays. Great help.

The pool was excellent. The water slides made the stay for us.

Our room was upgrade due to overselling the room type we booked. The first room was too small for 3 and we had to move to the correct room the 2nd night. The rooms were a little tired.

Property is beautiful. Right on the beach. (I believe it’s probably the entirety of this region of the world but the garbage rides in on the high tide and the beach is covered in trash as the tide recedes). The pools and lazy river are immaculate and beautiful.

Prices were a bit high, no “to go” cups for the morning breakfast coffee.

Lovely beachfront resort in a quiet area. Facilities were great we really loved the day spa and adults only pool. The staff were courteous throughout the resort. We ate at Coast & Mare restaurants and the food was good. We also had the Christmas Day brunch which was really good with a good selection of options. Special shout out to staff member named O who was at the pool, he was very warm & friendly a credit to the resort! We had the room with the pool, which was lovely, however the pool was pretty chilly most of the time as it wasn't in the sun - minor issue we still used it!

Beach bar wasn't open when we were there which was disappointing.

We booked in for the night, and ended up staying 10 nights. We were last at Centara Grand about 13 years ago so it was nice for us to bring our young children back with us. We liked the facilities that Centara Grand had to offer, particularly for kids. Our daughters had the best time on the waterslides, on the rock jump, on the lazy river, in the pool and at the kids club. There was always something to keep them occupied. The staff were also amazing. Particularly Joy in the restaurant - Bill and Santa at the Pool Bar and David and Kenan who ran the kids activities. The staff that did the daily servicing of the rooms also did a fantastic job. The ginger tea after the spa massage was also really good.

I found the reception staff a little cold at times and did tend to come across a little abrupt (not all). We also thought it might be nice to have some kids dinner options on the room service menu. Not a huge thing. More a suggestion.

Beach was glorious, clear water, clean beach, soft sand. Pool facilities were fun and varied, with great children's activities provided by two hosts who organised games and fun. Room was functional and big. I did not like the balcony aspects of the surrounding rooms because many of the guests had no consideration for other guests, swimming in their pools and having parties on their outside space often til 2 and 3 a.m., and there was little sound attenuation into the bedrooms.

I thought the majority of guests were unfriendly and inconsiderate. Many people used their hands to grab food at the buffet breakfast instead of the implements provided. Yes, it would be difficult to control people who are not well mannered, but one would have thought the huge cost of this family property would attract a more educated clientele.

The whole complex was wonderful! As a five star resort, we knew there could be a few additional charges here and there. However, other than a deposit when we arrived (which essentially turned into a tab for your stay and if you went over that you'd pay the difference) there weren't hidden costs and everyone at the resort wanted you to have the best time possible. O (the host at the adult only pool) was exceptional and even organised for the four of us to have dinner at a restaurant he recommends on top of the hill. A wonderful location and a lovely meal as well. A truly wonderful holiday with a great mix of relaxation, with amenities near by to explore.

It's just a shame the breakfast spread didn't last the entire day! There honestly isn't anything I could say against the resort. We couldn't hire out sea activities as the waves were too rough due to monsoon season, but that's hardly the fault of the resort so no concerns from me.
