If you are looking for somewhere close to nature and on the River then this place has it! The cottage I had was right on the river and I was able to sit outside and enjoy the sunset watching local long tail boats pass by periodically. The Hosts Roger and Khun Sao really made you feel truly welcome and at home. They even helped make a restaurant booking in a nearby restaurant, drove me there and picked me up when I was ready to go back. Breakfast the next morning was very hearty and different food kept being placed on the table including some of Roger’s home made sweet rolls filled with Crème Anglais! Delicious and all that served with a lovely cup of local Thai coffee! Both Roger and Khun Sao were absolutely the finest hosts and the place was designed and built by Roger himself! Very functional and close to nature! Didn’t try the pool as I arrived late afternoon and left early morning. Oh and there were no mosquitos in the room which was a bonus! Would recommend to any traveler who does not need the frills of a luxury 5 star hotel and is happy being in the midst of the local community with fine hosts that engage with their guests so well! Thank you Khun Sao and Roger! Will be back on my next ride through southern Thailand!

Absolutely nothing. Didn’t have any expectations so all was perfect!

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful and peaceful place. The rooms were very nice and the view on the river was great. We could also rent a kajak and paddle along the river during sunset. Sao and Roger were both really friendly, welcoming and helpful. They also gave us a lot of great tips for really nice places to visit on the way to our next stop.

Beautiful property away from the hustle and bustle of Surit Thani. The hosts Sao and Roger are wonderful, kind and friendly and helped us get to town each evening for dinner. The breakfast was hearty and delicious. Couldn’t recommend staying here more. Gorgeous cottage in a glorious setting.

Really unique location by the river and mangroves. Just a short ride out of Surathani. The room was large and comfortable in rustic style with good A/C. The owners were incredibly welcoming and helpful and gave us a taxi ride to town with instructions for tuk tuk to get us back in evening . The breakfast was freshly prepared and tasty.

Like it all but this is in a rural location

Excellent guesthouse with fantastic hosts. We were picked up from the airport and driven to the beautiful Bangsrai Cottage which is on the river surrounded by luscious vegetation. It was calm and peaceful and the room was perfect with a big bed, aircon, fridge and big tv. In the morning we had a swim in the pool surrounded by fruit trees. The breakfast was made freshly by the kind and friendly hosts who were so welcoming and helpful. The hosts were also able to make us a vegan option for breakfast which was really thoughful. We only stayed one night sadly because we had to head to the islands but we would certainly recommend this place to anyone looking for some peace and tranquility. Hopefully we will be back here one day :)

The staff are friendly and kindly.We request early morning breakfast .They prepared many kind of food ,we can choose. The cottages is in the garden and the terrace is face to the river. Very impressed and we plan to visit again.

Sao & Roger are one of the best hosts I’ve ever had! I’ve been traveling around the world for 4 years now. My three nights stay at Sao and Roger’s Bangsrai Cottage was definitely a new highlight! They are extremely generous and will do their best to take care of you. It’s kinda a mini village of little bungalows - which are very clean and cozy. If you look for a place for a stopover or if you look to simply enjoy quiet nature - look no further! 10 out of 10!

Everything was great! Beautiful cottage on the river, comfy bed. Good breakfast. The host Roger and Sao are very friendly and helpful. Gave us helpful tourist information on lovely places to visit in Surat Thani and good restaurants in the area. Lots to see, viewpoints, coconut farm, floating market, night market...I loved the night market here, very clean and lots good food at very cheap price. We stayed 3 nights at Bansrai Cottage, enjoyed every moment here, feeling the stay was too short!! We’ll definitely be back.

I was so pleasantly surprised with my short stay here - the property hosts were so lovely & welcoming, and the place itself in beautiful. Nestled in nature by the river, with a peaceful room to rest & restore - it was exactly what I needed after being in Bangkok.

The staff there is wonderful, very friendly and welcoming. The setting is near to the city, but surrounded by farms. It is quiet and peaceful. Good wifi, clean room, everything worked. The breakfast was excellent and included bread that was baked by the owner.

More signage would be good. Thankfully Google maps took us directly to their location.
