Room was clean and neat. They refreshed complimentary water, teabags, coffee and sugar at every room service. AC was working well. Bathroom was clean and fresh, shower is separated by a glass door so bathroom is not wet when you take a shower. Bed sheets were clean. Breakfast was perfect with so many choices so you could not feel bored. It's a good Turkish breakfast. Staff were kind and helpful. Location is very good you can easily go anywhere you want, it's secular and developed part of Istanbul so it feels like Europe. Also it's safe you can go outside anytime you want.

Everything was good, sometimes internet speed was slow but it was not a big deal.

The breakfast had a nice selection of sweet and salty foods, a lot of vegetables, turkish tea and other drinks. Plenty of options for vegan guests. The location is nice - the hotel is in an area with a lot of shops, restaurants and bars and it's only a few minutes walking to the ferry and bus station, where you can take the 20 min ferry ride to the other side where all the tourist atractions are located. There is also a direct shuttle bus to the airport (it takes around 2 hours to get to Istanbul aiport, because of traffic, so have that in mind when planning your trip). The staff of the hotel were really nice and accomodating.

The location of the hotel is a big plus because you are close to everything, but it can get really loud at night, when the bars and restaurants are full of people, so it's hard to sleep with the window open.

The location is great for public transportation and the staff is very friendly. The room is nice. There are lots of nice restaurant s nearby the hotel. We would like to be back to this hotel when we visit Istanbul again. We are totally satisfied with this hotel.

There are lots of choices for the breakfast buffet, however it is the same everyday. If the hotel can provide a bit different choices for the breakfast, it will be even better for those who stays there more than 3 nights.

The breakfast was excellent and beyond expectations. Delicious hot and cold breakfasts were served and the restaurant hall was beautiful and had a sea view. The location of the hotel was very good and everything was available. access to the metro, bus and the fary was only a few minutes. The area around the hotel was full of beautiful shops and high quality local bars and cafes. The hotel room was clean with the right size and good lighting. The room was cleaned every day and the towels were changed. The behavior of the staff was fantastic. They were very kind and helpful in all situations. They helped a lot to get the test, they called the hospital and got a discount, the nurse came to the hotel and we were tested in the room and they delivered the test results to us in less than 8 hours.

The room hair dryer needed to be repaired and the floor of the bathroom was filled with water while taking a shower

The Khalkedon is located in the center of the Asian side of Istanbul’s tourist district, within blocks of restaurants, bars, shops, antique stores…it is a vibrant neighborhood, but the hotel is quiet, friendly, and peaceful. Their amazing breakfasts on their rooftop terrace created a centering start to each day, and a sanctuary at each adventure’s end. The rooms are simple but comfortable, and very quiet. The staff is welcoming and competent, and seized every opportunity to be of assistance.

I can’t think of much- we stayed nearly a week and felt lucky to have found the place. There is no elevator; the hotel is unpretentious, and there is no lounge on the first floor ( though the terrace views are awesome).

I loved the location (maybe more than the taxi drivers who dropped me and picked me up). Kadikoy was perfect, a bit more relaxed (and cheaper) than the European side yet you can be at most of the main sights via ferry or a couple of stops on the metro/Marmaray within 30 mins. The hotel has good clean air conditioned rooms and a couple of rooftop breakfast/balcony areas that offer good views of the Bosphorus, particularly as the sun goes down. The staff were unfailingly helpful. We had to split the trip to go to another city and the hotel held our bigger bags with no fuss.

There are three floors of rooms but there is no lift so if you struggle with stairs this might be a problem. Perfectly clear when you book and not the hotel's fault that I developed some sciatica in the interim but it was a struggle. The give in the handrails as you put some weight on them suggested a few more screws/rivets could give a bit more reassurance as you lean on them! The breakfast was fine, loved the little pots of honeycomb, but felt a bit samey and limited after a few days.

This hotel is the best I’ve stayed in in kadikoy , it’s a small looking hotel from the outside but from the moment you walk in the staff are wonderful and so friendly , doesn’t have a lift but the staff help you with luggage , rooms are a good size and so is the bathroom , breakfast is excellent and their Turkish tea is the best I’ve had in instanbul , reception staff are so helpful and speak good English, easy to get to from the metro and loads of shops and restaurants surrounding it , A hotel I would definitely stay in again and so good value for money , highly recommend

Just the fact it doesn’t have a lift but your luggage is brought up to your room

After a year and a half, we returned for our second stay at this hotel. The first visit was in summer and this time, winter. We enjoyed both equally. The surrounding neighborhood is just as lively in both seasons. As for the hotel, excellent staff. Friendly people. Clean and comfortable. Wifi, heating, hot water all work well. Included breakfast is sufficient. Great value for the price. We hope to be back again someday!

That we couldn't stay a couple more nights

Rooms were very comfortable (thin walls but luckily no loud neighbours), staff were accommodating and very nice. Excellent location in a local area with plenty of great bars/restaurants. Rooms comfortable, clean and airy, and were stocked with complimentary tea, coffee and bottled water. Breakfast was basic (eggs, toast, sausages, turkish savoury pastries etc.) but tasty. View from the terrace breakfast hall was really nice!

A few more options at breakfast might have been nice but really this isn't a complaint. It was all very good and exceeded expectations.

Fantastic location only a few minutes walk to the ferry terminal which gets you to the European side in a lovely way. Breakfast had a wide variety. One of the front desk staff couldn’t do enough for you and was super helpful.

The rooms near the stairs are quite loud, especially on the first floor. I had to ask staff to stop talking outside my room a couple of the mornings as they woke me up. General maintenance needs to be improved but it’s very clean in general.
