My stay at the Rodion Hotel was at the end of September. We stayed there for 8 days. I rate the hotel very well, especially because of the fantastic atmosphere created by the owner of the hotel, Mr. Kadir, and the rest of his team. This is a family run hotel with a lovely little restaurant downstairs with tables inside and on the sidewalk. You can eat here very inexpensively: tasty soup for 4-5 euro, traditional Turkish pancakes baked on site, tasty meat with rice and the ubiquitous fresh bread without restrictions. Mr Kadir is a man who takes great care of every detail in the hotel and is actually on call at any time in any matters. Big words of appreciation to Kadir and the entire team. The hotel is small and has several rooms on three floors. It is situated right in the center of old Istanbul. You can feel the traditional Turkish atmosphere all around, fruit sold on the street, lots of cafes, restaurants and shops everywhere. The hotel is actually very cheap and has everything you need, including breakfast included in the price. Very clean rooms, linen change every day - which is rather the domain of 5 * hotels. The room has a fridge, TV, furniture, bathroom with shower. Rooms small, but sufficient for a comfortable sleep. You can hear the Imam singing five times calling for prayer - this is a charming accent of this Muslim city. Within walking distance, there is a huge market where you can buy just about anything. Famous famous monuments nearby (Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and many others). I recommend it with full conviction, because both the atmosphere of the hotel and the place around it are wonderful, additionally the delightful, still smiling Kadir and restaurant staff complete the rest. We will definitely come back.

Her şey iyiydi. كل شيء كان جيدا Everything was good.

- The location is perfect for exploring the city on foot, with plenty of shops nearby and in the old neighbourhood full of character. - The owner was incredibly friendly and always happy to chat, making the stay feel even more welcoming. - The place was clean, well-maintained, and as a solo traveler, I felt very safe throughout my stay. - Breakfasts were made from fresh, quality ingredients each morning.

The only thing that could be improved is offering a bit more variety in the breakfast options, as they became a bit repetitive over a 9-day stay.

It is well located near the Spice bazaar, the Egyptian market. Close to the tourist port, metro and tram. Friendly staff, especially Mr. Kadir. The hotel is small but friendly and clean. The breakfast is ok, and the restaurant staff is kind. .They also have a guarded parking space near the hotel. I recommend with pleasure

The breakfast was included so I had it most days. Fairly basic: boiled egg; salami slices; sliced cucumber/tomato; black olives; sliced cheese; bread; margarine; honey; chocolate spread. I'm not a big breakfast eater, so I usually kept it in the room refrigerator for my dinner. There is a supermarket directly across the street, so I picked up milk, juice, water, bananas...from there and there are MANY inexpensive restaurants, fruit/vegetable grocers and sweet shops within a few meters of the hotel, but they also have a dine-in/take-out restaurant in the hotel with GREAT and inexpensive food. I didn't finish all my tasks before my stay ended and as they had no availability, Mehmet found me a hotel across the street until a room was available again. And when I returned, they gave me the same rate as I had originally received, even though the new booking rate (I guess without this website discount) was nearly 50% higher! I thus had dinner in their restaurant a few times and left tips for housekeeping.

Refrigerator was small, sink was tiny, iron for my clothes wasn't always available, but those are pretty much always the case in small/inexpensive hotels like this one.

The room is very clean, bed linen, towels, and bath as well. Warm room, good breakfast. All ppl were very nice and helpful. After check out we left our luggage till the evening. Many places around to eat, close to metro Halic.

It was noisy outside till late night and ppl talked load till 1 am or so, we felt smoking smell in the room. Probably it was due to Ramadan and happens not always. But anyway this place is absolutely good for short stay and I will be back there again for sure!

The helpful staff, the room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and it was quiet, and I liked the location. Some people might not like being in a more local non-touristic/traditional neighborhood, but I really like that area, with many authentic, local, and cheap places to eat. Also, a nice rooftop space if you want to have a view of Istanbul or sit and dine on your own.

The room had no windows, so even in broad daylight, it was dark, and I think the room had ventilation problem. The breakfast could be better. On the last day, they served an omelet which was really nice. I hope they had offered it on the other days too.

I booked hotel before arrival and wrote message check-in will be late. The owner of hotel Mehmet waited until arrival time and met me personally. He kindly helped with all appearing questions during the stay, which was crucial due to prolonging continuance along with Booking was not working properly in Turkey. The hotel itself is located in historical place of the city with very calm neighborhood in the best place in terms of logistics, by walk 10-20 min to metro stations (Haliç M2 line/ Sirkeci B1 line), 20 min ferry station (Eminönü) and tram station (Eminönü İskele T1 line). It is important to mention that arrival from Istanbul New Airport will need one metro line switch and whole way from Airport station to Haliç station (near to hotel) will take less than 1 hour. On the top there is terrace with nice view to Galata Tower. The famous tourist places as far as the arm can reach: Süleymaniye Mosque, Mısır Çarşısı, Galata Tower, the rest famous places Topkapı Sarayı, Ayasofya and Sultanahmet Mosque will take by walk around 30 min. Hotel proposes classic Turkish breakfast, which can suit both vegetarians and non-vegetarians consisting from eggs, olives and vegetables, bread-rolls with cheese, which is served between 08:30-12:00 o'clock. The room is equipped with electric kettle, refrigerator, table and small cabinet. In the shower you will find shampoo and shower gel, all towels and tiny slippers are provided. The owner and hotel team speak well English, Deutsche, Russian and Turkish languages. The place is recommended for tourists as well as for those who arrive for business due calm and tidy accommodation, Co-Working place (CoBAC WorkSpace) is located nearby.

I liked the food and the hospitality . It was clean and fresh and Kadeer was very helpful about information .

I didn't like the isolation . You could hear the voices over rooms and outside sometimes felt like your window was open while it was close but it was peaceful neighborhood so it wasn't a huge deal

Great location with a lot of character. Family owned and operated - very nice owners.

The room - with half a window - was a little stuffy at night. The breakfast was simple but nice when the owners - older couple - were there. When the younger - employee? - was there, which was most mornings, it was difficult to get simple things.

The rooms were small but clean and quiet. Breakfast was good. Air conditioning was fine, mattress was very comfy, and stuff was very helpful and friendly. The fact that most of them spoke English was a plus for us. However, the best of the hotel is the location in a quaint neighborhood close to everything in Istanbul. Definitely not an upscale area but incredibly traditional and authentic. The area felt very safe and it was very convenient for the public transportation system, especially the metro that connect to the new airport. The rates were very affordable making it an excellent value.

For some reason the drainage of the bathrooms smelled bad after a while, and we had to keep the room of the bathroom constantly closed.
