good location modern facilities clean and friendly

restaurants all closed on one day of our stay and rooftop terrace on two days so no view of Hollywood sign ( reason for booking this hotel ) we had the $16 continental breakfast which seemed good value but after we were charged extra for the coffee an juice almost doubling the bill !! we did not do that again ! also they tried to charge us a $160 lobby bar bill. we did not ever use this and took 2 days to get them to sort it out. leaving bad feeling all round. it was eventually sorted on leaving after threatening not to pay at all. overall a lovely hotel but many flaws. surely at least one restaurant could remain open every day

We stayed in the Thompson Hollywood for 3 nights on the first leg of our LA trip in December 2022. The rooms were beautiful, clean, thoughtfully equipped (e.g. There was a clothes steamer in the wardrobe), bright and very comfortable. The staff were helpful and attentive. The overall style and vibe of the hotel was wonderful, from the living wall of plants in the entry way to the art and decoration of the very comfortable lobby. We were there to see the sights of Hollywood and were a few mins walk from everything! I would recommend this hotel to anyone stopping off in Hollywood!

Just an FYI - This may be standard in the US but I was not aware (from Ireland) that as I was using a debit card rather than a credit card to book the hotel, I was charged a security deposit per room per booking amounting to around 600 dollars being charged to my debit card and taking 5 working days to be refunded. It was a hit to the holiday spending money - Just something that is worth being aware of.

good location in Hollywood area. Clean hotel

Breakfast was ok but the staff were not friendly waited forever just for someone to approach me and then I was seated in a sun, they did not provide any umbrella for me but did provide it to the people who were already sitting in the shade. Also there was no coffee/tea machine but there is an expensive mini bar

The property looks like every Thompson I had visited in the past, nice, modern and beautiful. It’s was really nice, unfortunately we could only stay one night, so we didn’t have the time to enjoy the property. The guy at the front desk was very nice and helpful, I don’t remember his name 😕

The guy at the restaurant on the roof top was not friendly or helpful, he wears glasses, I asked for coffee with sugar and milk and he never brought to me. Also what we don’t like is that they have schedule the breakfast, lunch and dinner, we arrived 5 minutes before 11 am and the same guy told me they were over and he couldn’t do anything, I was with my two young kids (2-4 years) we we’re really hungry, and he told me to wait half an hour so they could offered me the lunch menu, I had to ordered Uber eats. And the last recommendation is very helpful to have in the room a coffee machine, they don’t have it, and we have to go down to the lobby for coffee. They never told me that the parking have a cost, when I asked them by email, and they do have it.

The hotel had a classy, relaxed atmosphere and the rooms were very tastefully decorated. The views from my room were incredible! The staff were very kind and helped me to understand the taxes and numerous complicated costs the hotel/Hyatt chain charged in addition to the room bill. The pool area is fantastic.

There were too many charges and costs which made me feel uncomfortable the whole stay eg the resort fee of c.30 USD on top of the room bill, the 5% staff fee on food bills as well as tipping etc. It felt like i was going to be charged for taking a sip of water. Perhaps this is because i've come from England where we don't have such charges. Couldn't the brand just build these costs into the room bill so customers could relax more on holiday? The loud music around the pool which was turned down eventually. Thanks pool managers.

Studio room was spacious and comfortable. The roof top pool was clean and had power points to work. Cafe had a great menu and the staff were excellent. They also served pastries in the lobby at weekends next to the coffee station.

There was no room service or casual dining options after 5pm. Certain nights of the week were extremely loud due to the club bar on the roof.

Facilities, interior, smells good, staff is helpful and friendly, room was fantastic, roof top bar/swimming pool is fabulous.

Location is both perfect and unpleasant . Perfect that is close to alley of fame and main attractions. A short drive to West Hollywood and Beverly Hills. But the neighborhood generally is so dirty, streets are flooded with junkies, stinks terribly.

All the staff were great, super helpful and friendly. Had some beautiful cocktails on the rooftop. Will stay at Thompson Hotel again.

We were a family of four staying for 4 nights but the drawer space was minimal and we were only provided with 3 towels. No hooks for towels in the bathroom because the door is a sliding door The long concrete bench under the TV looks cool I am sure but it's a waste of space. No iron/ironing board. No bedside lights. We couldn't work out how to dim the aircon panel which was very bright at night. Food a bit pricey and the portion sizes weren't very generous. The surrounding area was seedy - lots of homeless people just up the road next to the 7 Eleven convenience shop

The rooftop is incredible. Great breakfast there as well. Great place to tan and lounge by the pool. Loved the lobby as it is decorated beautifully and is a nice meeting place to meet friends and get a drink. Staff very friendly. Walking distance to many restaurants and bars. Central location.

We asked to have our room cleaned halfway through our stay and they never ended up doing it. This caused trash to overflow, toilet paper to run out. Wet towels. They did replace the toilet paper when we called though.
