The hotel is very clean, quiet and friendly. Continental breakfast is freshly prepared in the morning with warm croissants, ham, cheese, fruit salad etc. it's located just behind the cathedral which will take less than 10 minutes to walk through the forestry to the main square.

Our stay in Penrhiw Priory was very good, but it would be nice to have breakfast with eggs and bacon or smoked salmon. Also, walking to the hotel in the late evening through the forestry was very dark and scary as there's no one street light on the way to the hotel.

We absolutely loved our weekend away at Penrhiw. Before getting there we didn't know what to expect and felt a little apprehensive that there were no staff at the property 24/7. Check in is at the main hotel, Penrhiw is hidden away in the centre of St Davids. However, the whole process was very smooth and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location, the room, the atmosphere everything was amazing. We stayed in Garden room which was very spacious, the beds were so comfy and the bathroom was very clean. The room was kitted out with everything you need and even had pretty decent coffee with a mini coffee machine. We went for the full experience and had both the continental breakfast and the upgraded breakfast the next day. Although both were good, I probably won't recommend upgrading for a cooked breakfast. The continental breakfast (included in the booking) at Penrhiw itself is so lovely. If you do upgrade to the cooked breakfast you need to drive back to the main hotel where you check in. The food is good but probably not worth the extra hassle. Overall we recommend this place to any couple wanting to treat themselves with a quiet getaway and would be happy to go and do it all over again.

The service and facilities were exceptional - soft dressing gowns, coffee machine in the room, and all staff were friendly, professional and attentive. The bathroom was bigger than my sitting room with great water pressure. Many (possibly all?) of the staff were Welsh speakers which is lovely to find in a Welsh hotel. The location was lovely, about a 5-10 minute picturesque walk from St. David's through trees, no noise at all. The bed was huge and really comfortable, and the bedroom was cavernous, lovely soft lighting with lots of different areas to sit including a bay window overlooking trees. We stayed for an anniversary and were really happy - very romantic stay and better than the pictures. The lounge was underneath our room but we didn't hear any noise. Despite there not being staff on the premises in the evening there was an honesty bar with local bottled beer, wine etc. Lots of thoughful touches like umbrellas in the porch, a handwritten welcome note etc. The stay felt luxurious from start to finish.

We had to pick up keys from another venue during a limited timeslot (16:00-19:00) which was slightly inconvenient. Only removing one star as cooked breakfast wasn't available (we were informed of this in advance) which I would expect given the price (this was offered at the sister venue, however this was in another part of town and for an extra £5 each). The breakfast on site was continental i.e. some pastries, cold meats, cheeses, yoghurts etc., but nothing robust - have stayed previously at venues which don't offer cooked breakfasts but have egg machines and pancake makers for something more substantial.

Can't fail to be impressed upon arrival. From the electric gates to the lush surroundings with the impressive manor house hotel nestled amongst the trees. Huge bedroom and bathroom. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Great shower too. Hannah who served breakfast was so delightful. Very informative about the area and was very welcoming and engaging. Great asset to the hotel. Breakfast was absolutely superb. Such a wide choice of options and plenty to eat. Faultless our short stay couldn't have been any better. The price is good too as we moved onto Tenby paying the same rate per night yet the hotel in Tenby was not remotely comparable. Short walk past St David's Cathedral and palace around 10 minutes to the centre. Highly recommend

What a beautiful property in a beautiful location. We loved the walk into St Davids as all the spring flowers along the lane were in bloom. We only stayed one night and now feel we should have booked two. We ate breakfast at the sister hotel but the smell of the continental breakfast made us wish we were staying for breakfast at the priory. All the staff during the booking process and at the sister hotel were exceptional and made us feel so welcome and looked after. Thank you for a lovely one night break for our anniversary, we feel as though we really celebrated in style.

Having to leave. 😂

Fabulous place, excellent location close to St David’s and the Cathedral. Staff were great, service was excellent and meals in the restaurant were amazing (the main hotel was a 5 mins drive away or 20 mins walk) but we’ll worth a visit. Staff at Penrhiw Priory serving morning breakfast were delightful

A wonderful hotel. It felt really special and different – only 7 or 8 rooms, and a feeling of being in a manor house. Lovely breakfast, and we paid the £5 extra one morning to have cooked breakfast at the parent hotel. St Davids has so many lovely walks along the cliffs, and we enjoyed the Falcon boat trip to Ramsey Island. A lovely part of the world and a great hotel with attentive staff.

No cooked breakfast, but only a 20 min walk to the main hotel, so that would rather lovely actually!

The breakfast was perfect for us. It was described as continental breakfast. There was an excellent bowl of fresh fruit, choice of cereals, yoghurts, pastries, cheeses, meats and bread for toast. Plenty of choice. The hotel is about a mile from the city. There’s nothing else around and is just perfect if you like peace and quiet. There’s plenty of places to eat in the city centre but no restaurant at the hotel itself.

No night porter or any responsible person sited at the hotel. If there’s a problem the nearest help is the sister hotel about a mile away.

Spotless with great facilities. The continental breakfast was delicious, and it was no trouble at all to collect the key and check in at the sister hotel about 5 minutes drive away. Plenty of car parking. An idyllic quiet area about 10 minutes walk to St Davids, a quite hilly but beautiful walk. The room facilities were great. There was a fridge with complimentary water and real milk for tea/coffee. The bathroom was spotless with spa shampoo, conditioner, and soap provided, and lots of good quality towels. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The honesty book for drinks and nibbles was a nice touch. St Davids was tiny but with a few nice places to eat. A great base to explore Pembrokeshire. A highly recommended hotel and stay.

It was very dark to access the room [Ravens]. There was a big door recess, so using the key to lock and unlock the door was fiddly in the dark. There wasn't an electric socket near to a mirror to dry your hair, so ended up using the TV as a mirror! These are the only complaints, and they didn't spoil the lovey stay. We would definitely consider staying again.
