Such a welcoming arrival so clean and tidy mark was lovely and friendly as we're all the staff including "sausage" she's lovely the room was absolutely spotless I couldn't fault the rooms at all spacious large clean comfy softest bed in the world in our room (room 4) the atmosphere downstairs is brilliant and as for the food oh dear absolutely faultless we tried most dishes on the menu between us and we couldn't fault any but the steak was probly the best iv ever had deffinately Michelin standard we will deffinately be back without a doubt

The downside was we had to leave and come home literally there was nothing we could fault

We booked this pub as we were attending a wedding in a nearby village. The location is excellent and the village idyllic. Think quintessential English village with pub and church on a country lane. Very easy drive from exit 25 (Taunton) on M5. Room was clean with everything you would require for a short stay. Breakfast was good ( I'm not a big breakfast eater) but the host offered alternatives. The weather during our break was exceptional which added to the enjoyment (not really relevant for a review but can bias your opinion). Staff all lovely and friendly.

I was happy with everything, although we didn't try the restaurant so I can't comment on that.

very nice, clean and bright

some of the floorboards need a bit of tlc At breakfast I thought I we would of been asked separately on tea, coffee and juice as when being asked it sounded like you can either have one or the other (sorry) I do love cereal before breakfast but wasn’t asked about that also we didn’t get asked how we would like our eggs done. As for the breakfast it was nice a clean consisting of 2 rashers of bacon 2 fried eggs 1 fresh tomato 1 mushroom and a tub of beans. Toast was already on the table but we were that hungry we ate that before the breakfast came which we did ask for more toast and we were served more toast Over all loverly pet hotel really nice and clean but just need a bit more breakfast

We didn't use the restaurant but the pub was lovely. Small and cozy with a logburner and sausage the sausage dog roaming around meeting everyone. We had food in the pub and it was really good. The steak I had was perfect. And our breakfast in the morning was top notch. All the staff we met were really friendly. We were shown to our room which was a nice size with a comfy bed, nice furniture and a good size toilet and shower room. The room was a bit cold but as soon as I mentioned it, they turned the heating on straight away and it warmed right up.

I can only pick up on two very small things. And this is being VERY picky. The floor boards up in the rooms are very squeaky and loud. Next time you change the carpets, put some screws in the floor 😊. And the front door to get into the rooms could use a little oil or WD40 on the yale lock. Was very difficult to get the key in the barrel. Like I said, that's being really picky as it really is a lovely place and couldn't really find fault.

Friendly staff. Lovely big room. Well resourced. Superb breakfast. Very well priced. Very dog friendly! Locals are friendly. Food and drinks of a good quality and appropriately priced. Plenty of parking.

Accommodation didn’t respond to questions sent to them- via booking form. Had to phone them to ask. Bedrooms are accessible via a staircase- not appropriate for those unable to climb stairs independently.

clean and tidy bar and rooms.good food.the burger was a winner.Well done the Chef.

atmosphere in pub was a little to zero.the grey men left en mass and was almost empty by 9pm.the floor boards are awful in the accommodation.you cannot take a step without them squeaking.it’s all fairly new so Owner must be pretty gutted.I don’t know if anyone else was staying but I didn’t hear anyone else with squeaking floor boards so guess all good.

This hotel is in a quiet pretty village with very little through traffic. The breakfast was really good. All the staff are really helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. There are plenty of National Trust places to visit in the area and lots of lovely walks. All in all a really nice place to stay.

Food is not available every night at the hotel which is a bit of a shame. There is a restaurant nearby in Curry Rival about 5 minutes in the car.

Mark and his staff were so friendly and attentive, staying here felt like it was a home from home, the room was spotless and room temperature was perfect, i requested before i arrived if the room could be kept cool and it was just right ( over heated rooms which can be stifling and often difficult to cool down don't help for a restful sleep), The breakfast was excellent , had poached eggs both mornings and they were cooked perfectly, housekeeper popped in at breakfast to check if everything was ok and if i needed additional water, tea, coffee etc. excellent value for money and literally 10-15 mins away from M5 location was perfect, easy to find and very quiet at night as rooms are tucked away at back of hotel. 10/10 and look forward to staying again.

There wasn't anything i didn't like and i am fussy!

Great pub with rooms. Our room was really comfortable and nicely set out for us. Everything was sparkly clean. Stand out though was the pub itself. Staff were really friendly and welcoming and food was excellent (if a little slow - but they were busy). Definitely try to eat there. We were there on a Saturday night and the pub/ restaurant was busy and there was live music. The manager arranged for one of the singers to sing a couple of songs from Frozen for our daughters (age 2 and 5), which absolutely made their night and probably their whole half-term holiday. Decent breakfast too. Certainly recommend and would happily stay again.

Excellent, well appointed facilities. The host was really friendly and welcoming and we just loved 'sausage'! We sat in the garden for a drink before dinner, it was lovely. The food was very tasty. Didn't enjoy the chips; undercooked! Breakfast was very good. Looked and tasted like local products. Super.

Just the chips!
