Location of the hotel is very close to the town centre but far enough away for peace and quiet. Restaurant is amazing although the portion sizes of the meals are massive. If there isn't space in the parking area you can park safely in the street. Restaurant food is great.

Bathroom could do with a refit especially the shower, not much heat from the shower and quite a tight space. I was only staying one night and it was adequate. It would be beneficial for guests to know that the portion sizes for meals are large before ordering a starter AND a main. The starter would have been enough for me. Also in this day and age EVERY restaurant should have containers to take away any leftovers. If there is anything I hate more in this world it is food waste. After quite a bit of discussion and at one stage of offering to purchase the plate a container was made available.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was spotless and well furnished, and the bathroom was spacious. We had a wonderful dinner at the restaurant - fresh ingredients, perfectly prepared and served by a gracious staff. Our hosts were fantastic. Our GPS cord was malfunctioning on our road trip, so we searched the nearby shops for a replacement, with no luck since it is an old device. Our host came to our rescue! He searched among his extra cords and surprisingly found one that fit exactly. He let us have it, which truly saved us, as we were only on day three of a ten day trip. That was going the extra mile for their guests!

It is a victoria vila so there are constraints, yet the rooms are comfortable, the linen crisp, the bathroom clean and a good size. The best thing about the hotel is the staff - a family of Italiens who put their heart and soul into being welcoming hosts. The father in particular is a bit of a character and he will talk to you on any subject under the sun!. We really enjoyed the stay.

Probably a bit more variety at breakfast but since most people do not stay more than 2-3 nights, it is hardly an issue. The cooked breakfast is fresh and tasty and the scrambled eggs are almost on a par with mine!!

What stands out about the Aurora Hotel and Italian Restaurant is the charm and hospitality of the owners and the deliciousness of the food that they serve. We ate dinner both nights in the restaurant because it was just so good. I didn't expect fabulous Italian food in Scotland but I was happy to indulge in it. They were just a capable of making a proper Scottish breakfast as they were making tagliatelle with porcini for dinner. It is a friendly, old-fashioned place with the unexpected bonus of Italian food and charming hosts.

Up for a 2 day archery competition a few miles away. Wanted somewhere close with basic facilities and good value just to lay my weary head. Delivered in spades with a single top floor room with private shower room/loo. To be fair, room/bathroom was small, but fine for a single traveller. Add in great staff and a couple of excellent breakfasts and I was very happy. Ate in restaurant too, very good. It's not luxury accommodation by any means, but did all the basics well. Overall, very happy

Car park can be challenging, but plenty of roadside parking.

All the staff very welcoming, very friendly and helpful. Good to find accommodation which included breakfast. I had a single room at the back of the house and it had everything I needed. The location was excellent for the town, the beaches and the bus station.

As it's an old building there are noisy floorboards so best to take ear plugs if you're sensitive to that, also because of the seagulls, which were very noisy already at 3.30 am!

Very friendly owners and I could tell they were genuine people upon entry to the hotel. There is no lift in the hotel but the son was very helpful in taking my luggage to my room. The hotel was fairly quiet at night, I always take earplugs on holiday with me but I never had to use them once. The beach was only a couple of streets away from the hotel so that was great! The hotel room had plenty of maps and books and what to do in the area so I could peruse them at my leisure. The full English breakfasts were huge! And delicious! There was fruit juice, yoghurts, toast, everything you need for a good start! The menu for evening meals was extensive and the food delicious. The staff (which were all family) were all very attentive and added to the ambience of the room. The lounge was comfortable too and the proprietor was behind the bar chatting and bringing everyone together for evening drinks. I had a fantastic holiday and would definitely return!

Nothing I didn't like, it was all good. The hotel is not a boutique hotel, but it's very clean, and my bed was so comfy!

The room was spacious, staff was really friendly and the food in the restaurant (both evening and breakfast) was amazing. Small walk to a supermarkt to get everything you need for a few drinks in the room.

The room was nice but a little warm, the curtains didn't cover the entire window and the room itself could use a slightly bigger TV screen and a fresh coat of pain. I know, they are minor things, but for the price of the room, expected these things to be there.

This is a lovely hotel near the centre of Nairn. I have eaten here many times before and the food is so delicious and very well priced. We stayed overnight this time and had breakfast in the morning which was also delicious. Check in was quick and easy with a lovely double room with a modern ensuite.

Breakfast was between 8am and 9am, which is quite limiting but I made sure I was in good time for it but if you wanted a longer lie you would miss breakfast

Supremely lovely friendly hosts. Room perfect for my needs, comfortable bed, tea coffee kettle TV, shower room with hot water. Good variety at breakfast. Central location and small car park and off street parking available. Very kind and accommodating family running the place.

Other guests a little noisy Friday and Saturday night, which is to be expected perhaps. A lot of single use plastic items at breakfast which could be phased out.
