We were upgraded to an available sea view room, the room was large and clean, very nice. The washroom was also very big and nice and clean. The welcome check in was friendly and helpful. This hotel is a 10 minute walk from Carbis Bay small beach, it's is quiet and sandy with a couple of nice restaurants. St Ives is a 7 minute drive, the bus goes regularly from a few yards outside the hotel. The breakfast was very nice, freshly made and plenty of choice. The restaurant area was lovely. The room did not have a fridge so we were provided with fresh cold milk on arrival and were able to top up any time. We had a couple of drinks at the sports bar next door but were told we couldn't play pool because it was booked and near closing time. Our room was at the top so about 2-3 set of stairs and no lift so not suitable for anyone who can't do numerous steps. Overall we had a pleasant, clean and comfortable stay and a very good sleep on the cosy beds provided.

Quaint property. Nicely decorated. Lovely area downstairs area to relax in and have a drink and something to eat. Quiet area to stay in with a short drive to town centre.

Was a little difficult to locate upon arrival. If you arrive later in the afternoon, the car park may be full. There is a small car park opposite that you can use and then walk across the road. No elevator and our room was up three flights of stairs - mentioning this if someone has heavy luggage or struggles to walk easily. Bathroom was a tight fit for two people.

Clean and modern quirky decor, a brilliant shower and very comfy beds. Good and hot cooked breakfast and thoughtful and attentive staff, the relaxed and organised atmosphere helped us unwind.

The car parking was across two sites, one was across the road and was not well lit at night, an Led night light would be appreciated. There was a hidden step on a ramped walkway that would be improved with a yellow/glow in dark warning sticker.

Lovely room. Dining room & bar in the main building was fab. Very welcoming staff. Cosy seating area with a roaring fire. Great food. Also enjoyed the use of C Spa.

Although our room in Gannet House was lovely, I have to say that the feel of the bar there was not the same as the bar at the Gannet Inn, so a bit disappointed with that (just my opinion) but there was always room at the Inn, 2 doors down.

What can I say. Lots of parking which is always a bonus. The receptionist on arrival gave me such an exceptional warm welcome and was the most friendliest soul ever. We are locals whom were staying to attend a 40th within the area. Once checked in, I was handed my key to “The Gannet” room. Which to my surprise, I was made aware that I had been upgraded, a real treat to us to not only stay at a beautiful hotel but to get a glimpse of our beautiful coast from our window so thank you. The bedroom was immaculate, thoroughly cleaned to a high standard. A supply of teas, coffees, hot chocolates and herbal teas provided with some homemade shortbread - which was delicious can I add. The bed was really comfortable, very warm, spacious and cosy, just what we needed. The bathroom filled with bathroom essentials perfect for those who forget to bring. The shower is like a walk into paradise. A real good way to shake off the weekday of hell and ready for the weekend ahead. I was rather relaxed! The BIG bonus is the four hours use of The Carbis Bay Spa. After a fun filled evening the night before, our delicate souls needed to relax, unwind and recuperate so a brilliant finishing touch to our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel as a getaway, as a quick stop over or as a long vacation to other couples. 10/10 all in all! ✨

loved the staff. everyone was friendly and lovely. the hotel was clean and cute. Dinner was delicious. We dined here both nights of our stay.

Breakfast was average (other reviews here before we went raved about how good it is so we had high expectations and this were somewhat disappointed)- continental selection was small, cooked meals were rather bland and orange juice was from concentrate. Thin walls - could hear other couple’s conversations through wall. not optimal. Shower pressure was terrible. It leaked and then fell on partner’s head. Even after it was put back up the pressure was abysmal.

Fabulous breakfast included. No fuss for gluten free request. All staff really friendly and helpful. Struggled to get booked anywhere for food in evening, (I think it's fair to say you need to do your research and pre-book) but was given recommendations to order in if wanted. Staff provided us with plates and cutlery, very relaxed. Room initially was incorrect as asked for singles, but they very quickly upgraded us to a different room for no extra charge. Very clean linen. comfy beds, fresh milk for your tea or coffee on request (no UHT) in your room. Plenty of sockets in the room for charging etc. Bonus was getting to enjoy the Carbis Bay Spa as it's part of the same 'Estate'

Given the building, there was no air conditioning in the room. However a fan was provided (and was needed) because the higher up your room is the warmer it will be. The windows (again no doubt for safety reasons) do not open very far. I had brought my hand held fans which where on all night. There was not much to choose from in terms of restaurants right near by if you do not want to drive. Walking to St Ives was a short journey down hill, but it was a struggle to find somewhere to eat that didn't require booking, a 2nd mortgage or a long wait. So again, do your research or you may end up as we did having Chinese take away in our room (Delicious though)

The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Special mention to Ryan who was very accommodating each morning in tailoring our breakfast requests. The quality of the food was great (we had breakfast each morning at the hotel and ate at the Inn one evening and the other evening was at The Orangery).

The room we initially booked had windows that didn't open wide enough and the fan in the bathroom wasn't working. Plus the room was very small. I would say that was more for 1 person than a couple. However we were allocated a different room on the second day which was much better. However we did notice that the shower door was misaligned creating a gap at the bottom where water leaked out of making it more like a wet room which wasn't pleasant each morning. Also we heard noises on the flooring in the space above us which we suspected was a rat. Finally the bed was two mattresses joined together which wasn't comfortable and would have expected a proper double/king mattress.

The decor of the rooms very elegant. Breakfast good. Charmaine on reception gave us an amazing welcome. She is so naturally charming and so efficient. She booked us in to Walter’s restaurant by the sea part of the sister hotel Corbis Bay Hotel. Great food and amazing beach front views. Beautiful beach. Charmaine really made our stay feel very special indeed.

We didn’t stay longer

The staff went above and beyond at the Gannet Inn! We were cycling the West Kernow Way in Cornwall and stopped off at Carbis Bay. The staff helped us store the bikes safely, fed us after we arrived in late and facilitated our luggage transfer. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Big shout out to the restaurant staff on both nights we stayed at the Gannet Inn-we really appreciated being fed both nights despite arriving late! Absolutely top notch customer service! Rooms were spacious and clean -lovely homemade biscuits too! Highly recommend the Gannet Inn. We didn’t get to use the spa facilities at it’s sister hotel -so we will have to come back again! 5 stars
