The hotel has lots of space and although it was busy, there was no feeling of overcrowding

We were advised prior to staying that the restaurant was closed & we had the option of including dinner - when we arrived the restaurant was open which was a little frustrating The pool wasn't as warm as it has been on previous stays - important when you have little ones The breakfast could benefit from a fresh fruit option and more choice of yoghurt

The quiet, the gardens, the delightful staff, my room, parking, the spa.

The bar meals are dreadful, like an over priced school dinner. Breakfast is expensive and chaotic, certain foods run out by 8.30 with little hope of replenishment. More care should be taken by staff with serving implements as there are too many messy spoons and tongs that have been dipped into meat and non meat food. plates are frightfully small. The sink in my room has a massive crack in it from the edge to the plug, the rim of the sink underneath the taps was pretty yucky. Bit of an infection control issue. 308 if you fancy to repair it. Everything else was splendid. When I come again I won’t have breakfast and will eat out somewhere else.

An excellent choice for our joint Birthdays (70/76). Building is magnificent, staff friendly, efficient and attentive. Quick access to Stratford upon Avon town center. Food excellent. We had a lovely Afternoon Tea to celebrate our Birthdays and were pleasantly surprised by a complimentary glass of Prosecco.

Our room (307) was some distance from reception, down a couple of sets of stairs, which for anybody, elderly and/or infirm could be difficult, particularly if carrying luggage. Room was comfortable, warm and clean. However, room and bathroom were somewhat 'tired' with a '70s' feel about them. One of the chairs in the room was ragged and warn and not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. Disappointed by the Spa, had a rather outdated feel about it and in need of refurbishment. Hotel staff were excellent, but appeared short-staffed, particularly at meal times, with some having to do the work of two/three. Would suggest that if the hotel is to match the magnificent building, it is ready for some overall refurbishment.

This hotel is stunning. The staff are very friendly! The grounds are lovely and very well kept the view from the dining room is beautiful. The hotel is very well looked after especially being a listed building. The spa is nice, it’s clean and there’s a variety of things to do and having the use of the facilities included in your stay is a lovely addition. Food at the hotel is tasty, well cooked and refreshed regularly (during the buffet breakfast) we had breakfast included in our stay and there is a wide range of options to chose from. The hotel is close to Stratford town centre, a short drive to the British motor museum, Warwick and many other places, but set back far enough from the road that you can’t hear the cars on the road. What’s not to love? I would 100% stay again and recommend it to family and friends.

The bath in our room was clean but old, the enamel was coming off so looked a bit off colour and felt rough but there are planned renovation for October 2023 according to other reviews I have seen, there was a wrapper on the floor in our room and looked like a drink had been spilled and not wiped on the night stand but other wise very clean and tidy.

The room was a good size, the breakfast was lovely, and the property itself is very nice. Its location is perfect for visiting Stratford, and the surrounding countryside is beautiful. The staff were very helpful, and i would stay there again.

Our bed was incredibly uncomfortable! Neither myself or my wife slept very well at all, and although it was a lovely, large bed, it really wasn't great. I felt that the choices on the menu were rather limited, and the dish i chose just didn't taste very good. I was told by a staff member that changes are afoot to improve things, so i will return at some point, as the pro's far outweighed the con's.

The Ukrainian girl who checked us and looked after our booking throughout our stay was brilliant. So so good. The gardens are a beautiful and the golf course. The hotel has its history and elegance. That really makes the place. The spa is great. Breakfast was very good.

The hotel needs love. It's tired out. Such an elegant building with fabulous history it could do with being looked after better. Windows all need cleaning. The spa is fine. It's pretty new looking. Few too many signs with rules everywhere which takes away from the relaxing atmosphere. Seems there's a list of rules to use every facility and that's not relaxing. The hotel needs to be air-conditioned. It's 2023 afterall.

When booking this spa break I was concerned about disability access for my niece, however the hotel catered very well for this. The room was very spacious and was accommodating for a wheelchair. The staff were all very friendly at both the hotel, diner and spa but a special mention to the member of staff at the spa who went out of his way to cater for disability needs. The hotel is in a beautiful location and short drive away from the stunning Stratford upon Avon.

Unfortunately, the treatments were all fully booked, so book in advance. There were some creepy crawleys in the room, but that is to be expected as the hotel is surrounded by beautiful greenery. Fortunately I'm ok with bugs.

The location, and the property itself were stunning. The gardens and fountains are well-kept along with the golf course. You feel like you're in a movie. And yet you can walk to Stratford-upon-Avon from the location through the fields within 25 minutes. The breakfast was very nice and the dining areas were very comfortable. Parking was also close to the entrance. By the way Stratford-upon-Avon has many parking areas. Also as easy to walk with children. My young children, spent at least an hour wandering through the maze, and the gardens behind the property.

.Really, I was very satisfied with this hotel and its accommodations. I have no complaints whatsoever.

This hotel is still fantastic!! We first stayed here 20 years ago and came back for a special occasion. I must say that the hotel is just as lovely as it always was, spa is wonderful and the rooms are delightful. It annoys me to read negative reviews about the place being tired etc - it is the ambiance of a traditional county Manor House and the hotel has a class some people will not understand. If people want Dubai bling then go to Dubai if you want English class then come to this hotel. Also the breakfast was absolutely wonderful, breakfast manger’s (?) attention to staff training and customer satisfaction was a delight to see.

Would love to see the tepidarium in use again and also the ice fountain by the sauna was a lovely novelty when it worked.

Our apartment was incredible - 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a separate lounge, and a kitchen. Rooms were comfortable. Location was just a few minutes drive to the town of Stratford on Avon.

To access the apartments, you need to go back down to the main road then up what is essentially a golf cart path (with numerous potholes). We did this one and that was enough. Thereafter we parked in the main car park and walked around the hotel and spa in the dark. Not ideal but better than that Cart path for sure. Our washing machine did not work correctly and trapped our clothes after completing the wash cycle. Maintenance could not remedy it and effectively broke the door to get our clothes out. Reception gave us another apartment key to complete our washing then we took all the clothes to a laundromat in town to dry before we left town. Not ideal but we got our washing done in the end.
