Location and value for money great en suite

Nobody in attendance when we turned up Seems pointless having a bar and a dining room but not used

We love everything about Waters edge, it's our go to hotel we stay several times a year , and always get the same room which we are highly grateful for. It's home from home , the staff are always welcoming and helpful. The hotel is very comfortable and clean, very nicely decorated, it's in a brilliant location so it's easy to walk to either Torquay town or Paignton , the train station is less than ten minutes away on foot , beaches within minutes. Lovely front garden with seating. Night porter doorbell after 11pm so the building is secure at night. Looking forward to going back soon. Oh and the shower is excellent 👌

Coming home

Very friendly staff. Room was freshly redecorated, spacious, generally clean with comfy beds. Staff came to make the beds and empty bins during the stay. Nice view. Clean bathroom and toilet. Convinient location.

Window was dirty from the outside, and there was a layer of dust on the window frame from the inside. There was a lot of dust on top of the headboards too. Fire door outside of the room was awfully squeaky, making a lot of unpleasant noise every time when someone was passing by - definitely requires a WD40 treatment. Not enough coffee and milk for 2 nights stay. Other than that, everything was great.

We return to Watersedge often it's like a second home , The manager/ owner and staff are always very lovely. Beautiful clean rooms and bathroom of course including hallways and the rest of the hotel are cleaned to a very high standard. Fantastic location so easy to walk into either Torquay and Paignton, incredible sea views and only a few minutes away from the train station. I don't honestly think I'd stay anywhere other than the watersedge. Looking forward to returning in three weeks. We are fortunate enough to be given the same room on each visit which feels like home from home.

the location and view from the room was outstanding, our room was at the top overlooking the bay, best view we’ve ever had from a hotel. room was very airey, super kingsize bed was so comfy, we woke every morning refreshed and no aches or pains, really going to miss that bed and pillows. room had all we needed, shower and toolet room was a decent size. tv was good. cant fault the room, in fact while we were there we booked another trip in a few months time and for the same room. cant wait.

only thing i can possibly think of or mention is the lift, the hotel has a lift, unfortunately during our stay it was out of order. but the manager did tell us and did say it should be working in time for our next stay. other than that we love everything about this place.

The person who works at the desk is lovely even had times where we would get up late at night and he would come put and get us drinks location is very close to the beach and everything you need. The bed is comfy and the bathrooms are just right. We have proceeded to stay here quite a few times now and don't hesitate to go back especially as the room is such a low price for such a good stay.

Nothing we didn't like but we tend to have a preference of having the TV with more stuff on it I.e Netflix some rooms have that some don't but it's not terrible as that's just a preference.

We had a great stay at Waters Edge having booked very last minute after arriving at our original location to find it wasn't suitable. Waters Edge is in a great location within walking distance of the beach and the heart of Torquay. Proper car park and well maintained rooms, decent price. There's a beautiful benched area across the road from the hotel which was lovely to stroll over with your morning coffee.

The only thing that would have improved our stay would have been if the hotel served food, particularly breakfast. But we were within reasonable walking distance of plenty of food establishments and it certainly wouldn't stop us staying at Waters Edge again, we really had a great time.

The room was cleaned to a high standard and the bed was comfortable. I was visiting Torquay for a wedding in a hotel nearby, which was too expensive for me to stay at. The price of this hotel was very reasonable (literally half the price of the other hotel and only a 2 minute walk between them!) The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay.

The hotel does not offer breakfast which is a shame, as it is a bit of a walk to the shops, especially if you don't know where you are going.

Adorable little quaint hotel over the road from the sea. Slightly odd mixture of old and new. Facilities had been modernised but the hotel itself was still dated. Layout was fantastically peculiar. Felt like a winding maze of corridors and small flights of stairs despite only having (I think) 50/60 rooms. Half expected to find Casper the friendly ghost floating around down the hall. We stayed over in early February so we were basically the only ones there. Bed and shower was fantastic. Didn't truly realise how far the hotel was from the main town, but actually appreciated that more as the walk to and from was lovely. 10/10 would spook again.

Room did seem excessively cold. Staff member came up unprompted with a small portable heater a few minutes after we checked into the room. Which was greatly appreciated. Didn't like the wooden floor though. Feel like having a carpet in the room would have made it both warmer and more welcoming.

We thought the location and view were excellent and the fact that there was parking as well for our car was a bonus. The desk staff were excellent too being very welcoming and helpful both Phil and another lady (we did not know her name) were so nice and a credit to the hotel.

A couple of the guests who came in rather late or early hours of the morning were rather noisy but it did not last long and they were the exception.
