Lovely food in the restaurant for both Dinner and Breakfast. All the staff we encountered (Reception, Bar, Restaurant) were helpful, friendly and polite. Good standard of cleanliness. Nice room.

Although the room was a nice size, clean and tidy, there were obvious signs of wear & tear. This was an upgrade room and when we went in the long curtain in front of the balcony door was torn and part hanging off it's rail, so we had to fix that. Only a couple of minutes and didn't ruin our stay, but the sort of thing that should have been addressed by housekeeping. The restaurant in the evening was very busy and we had to wait an hour for our food. The team were very apologetic and did make a small allowance on the bill. The food however, was definitely worth waiting for!

- Excellent stunning countryside location with good views. - Staff very friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. - Good parking availability and close to entrance. - A well maintained and kept pool. - Excellent grounds for walking / exploring - Room was very clean and well heated with a lovely bathroom.

Some of the decor and appearance within the building needs updating. - Areas of paintwork in the restaurant needing updating - Wooden doors that led from the rear of the restaurant conservatory to the garden had damage and held together with masking tape. This was very visible. - The corridor for room numbers 300 to 320 had a section of where water damaged had occurred and needed attention on the walls / carpet.

Amazing experience, I was terrified because I saw the comments and the score for this hotel, it was a birthday gift from our children so we couldn't comment too much and went for with it. Beautiful hotel, breakfast, dinner and bar amazing, super service, very reasonable priced, excellent to relax. HOW WRONG CAN A SCORE BE!!!

And yes, the place needs maintenance, but I saw they are working on it, if you see the size of the complex I think it is in good shape.

The grounds and buildings were stunning and pleasant to walk round.

The spa facilities were in a different building so we couldn't just go back to our room we had to leave the building. Also we asked about staying another night but the rate was double what we payed for our stay and I hoped they would offer a different room for a price nearer to what we payed (we know we had a good rate for our night) or off some discount for our room again but non was forthcoming so we didn't stay a 2nd night unfortunately

Hotel, is lovely, great facilities, lovely staff and location, such stunning grounds.

The hotel on the outside looked very tired, it needs money spending on it, window especially, health club ceiling needs attention in areas. Pool is too shallow to swim in. Didn't like the fact that the website didn't advise that child pool times were between 4pm-7pm when most adults want to go and chill. Locks on the patio doors were unsecured with just a latch, needs more security.

Stunning location; the surroundings are just idyllic. Room was fairly basic for the price but clean, and there's plenty of free parking available. Very family friendly

I was looking for a country hotel in the depths of the countryside for the base of a weekend break. I didn't expect it to be so busy and noisy (more fool me). Staff struggled to find me a room on check in and I was woken at 7am by children running up and down the corridors. I think this is clearly a lovely hotel for a family break but I'm not sure I'd recommend it for a quiet couples retreat.

Location was lovely, grounds of hotel beautiful. Lovely view from room

The balconies for the rooms are filthy and full of weeds and moss. Mine also had 3 cigarrette butts on it. Look very uncared for which is a shame because hotel is otherwise excellent. Have stayed here before 2 years ago and the balconies were pretty bad then but worse now. Maid lent me a little dustpan and brush but they really need to be provided with better tools to clean.

The Staff were outstandingly helpful and kind. My friend an I were away overnight for a bit of a celebration and we were brought drinks then later cakes with candles and a song. Quite overwhelming and surprising.

It's difficult to complain about anything as there was so much to praise, but one light bulb was missing in the ceiling light. Bedside lights were insufficiently bright to read by. The toilet paper was ridiculously thin and the pieces were very small. It is no saving as one has to use more. The telephone in my room (320) didn't work.

Breakfast set out with a very good variety of things to eat and drink and when asking for further items (vegetarian sausages etc) they were brought promptly and with good service. I loved the estate the hotel was on. Plenty of space for walking with a lake and attractive buildings. I liked the low level buildings and the bedrooms. The pool facilities were appreciated.

Pleasant service in the restaurant when going for dinner but a long wait for dessert for which apparently the order hadn’t gone through. Overall, this didn’t detract from a really good stay and I would like to return.

Breakfast was included with the price which was nice. The spa is aswell included but didn't have enough time to use it so would be nice to come and stay for longer

Bathroom light was not working but did notify at reception . Wasn't the end of the world
